00:14car and I did what is now quite a well-known multi-stripe car which has 26 colors and 82
00:23stripes and so I did that and then I did a limited edition car then I did a special sustainability
00:34concept car and so the relationship between Paul Smith and MINI has been from the heart completely
00:41natural truthful and I drive a MINI every day so that's why I love working with MINI. I was very
00:50pleased to have a visit maybe four or five years ago now from the MINI team in Munich and they
00:58said
00:59we you know we were very keen to work with you again and this time maybe with a production car
01:07and so obviously I was very excited about that because often there were concept cars
01:14and so it just seemed like a natural thing MINI's huge history made in Britain created in Britain in
01:24the 1950s Paul Smith made in Britain still going after 55 years and a company like mine we're working
01:33in 65 countries around the world so the the it was just an obvious joining of British brands and and
01:42so
01:42the idea was to do a MINI which is like the production MINI but giving the twist and the character
01:49that I have in everything I do so little secrets everywhere and I could show you them if you want
01:56but they're really nice so we're here in Milan right now the the famous week which is called Salone
02:04di mobile which is a big design week one of the biggest weeks in in Milan uh bigger than the
02:10fashion
02:11week just a very very popular week where people show their new ideas and new designs so for me it's
02:18a
02:18natural uh thing to be here this week um and uh we happen to be in this amazing uh garden
02:25which is right
02:26in the center of town in Via Manzoni um so what we hope is that the visitors can come they
02:34can enjoy uh
02:35looking at the the two of the old cars from the past and two of the new cars we also
02:42have a lovely little
02:43booth over there where you can play with color and mix color which is something I'm famous for
02:49uh have a coffee have something to eat sit in the garden and uh in this busy week of the
02:57Salone uh just
02:58enjoy relaxing um here and that would be great
03:05so this is uh obviously the soft off uh MINI we we're making the MINI uh combustion engine uh electric
03:14um the three door five door I mean it's the whole range of MINIs uh got the color which I
03:23love this
03:24color combination of a very what I feel like is almost like an antique white almost cream with this
03:31beautiful uh green color but if you come in here and have a look here so the first thing you

03:38where it says every day is a new beginning and this is in my handwriting and the the idea of
03:45that is
03:46that uh you know the world is a crazy place right now so when you uh come and you press
03:51the the fob
03:53there's a projection onto the floor that says hello and then that's in my handwriting every day is a new
03:59beginning means that uh in the times of trouble and strange world we live in it's a very optimistic thing

04:13you know I'm famous for my for my stripes you probably know that so uh here we put elements
04:20of the stripe into the steering wheel uh blue stitching now if you look here look here this is
04:28the stripe but in self color so black on black so texture smooth texture smooth so this is the
04:37porcelain stripe so you see the blue here so it's blue and black together and this is the stripe again
