00:00:15I
00:00:17Hi
00:00:24So hmm fists or knives
00:00:39So what's new that's the end of the season it seems a long year, but it's a short season up
00:00:44there
00:00:45But what an awesome year to be mining what a time to be a life, pal. I mean mighty prices
00:00:51are good
00:00:52I don't know where it's at today. What four thousand it's not even normal
00:01:00You're finding some gold. Yeah, that's good. Yeah. Well, how much have you got?
00:01:08Me
00:01:10Well, I'm the oldest I should go last
00:01:14We just hit ten
00:01:17Okay, well, so did we ten too
00:01:22Nice
00:01:26I
00:01:26Can't have you finding more than us
00:01:28Oh, really? That's a lot of gold. That's a lot of gold
00:01:34It's impressive
00:01:37Where you're at was your total? Ah, shoot for 1800 and then we're we're about 400 ounces short right now
00:01:44Yeah, well
00:01:45Yeah, I could get a fair buck operation like yours if you could sell
00:01:54Um
00:01:55Well, I mean as of right now, I definitely want to see how this the season ends, but I'm considering
00:02:00it
00:02:01Let's give us a call
00:02:03What tony trying to buy you out
00:02:05No offer, yeah
00:02:09Uh
00:02:11He came and visited me
00:02:12Oh
00:02:14Oh
00:02:14Oh, good
00:02:14Wow
00:02:17Let's see the difference between tony and I is tony really likes to do good deals and I love doing
00:02:21bad deals
00:02:21So if you are ever serious about selling give me a call
00:02:25Not to try to invade your guys's deal, but ground is hard to find and it's worth a huge premium
00:02:30right now. Everybody's looking
00:02:33There's a lot of people that say oh, well, you know the nice thing about this business is it's not
00:02:36competitive
00:02:38The three of us know it is
00:02:40Yes, sir
00:02:45Anyway
00:02:47Gentlemen have a nice day all right jory
00:02:51That's good to see you man. Absolutely. Have a good fall. Yeah, you can enjoy your winter if I don't
00:02:55see you again. Oh, yeah
00:02:56You too
00:03:01I figured tony was having a good year, but I didn't think it was going to be that good
00:03:07He's a bit ahead of me but
00:03:13We'll see what happens
00:03:15Those guys are killing it on the gold you know and the offers it's it's good to know there's options
00:03:21there. I I
00:03:21I don't know what to do. I
00:03:24You know it's going to come down to my total what if I hit my goal this year
00:03:28Man, I want to go in on my own terms. I feel like just selling out is not
00:03:32the way I want to go, but
00:03:35You never know you know money talks and results speak for themselves
00:03:44I
00:04:09We've had a hell of a season, gold-wise.
00:04:14We've hit our goal.
00:04:16The big priority now is just getting every last ounce we can while prices are like this.
00:04:21Yeah, it's pretty cool.
00:04:2531-year-old mining mogul, Parker Schnabel,
00:04:29is running through the finish line.
00:04:32Gold prices are at an absolute all-time high.
00:04:36They have $4,000 an ounce today, which is very, very cool.
00:04:43It's a good time to be gold mining and have a lot of wash plants running.
00:04:47We've got four wash plants running.
00:04:49Parker is already breaking records this season with over $40 million in gold banked.
00:04:58But he's determined to catch former mentor Tony Beetz,
00:05:03who is leading by 120 ounces.
00:05:08Bit of a bummer that Tony is a bit ahead of me.
00:05:11We've been on top for a long time.
00:05:14It's getting cold and who knows how much longer we've got.
00:05:16Frost will probably cut us off from being able to keep plants running.
00:05:21But we're going to finish strong.
00:05:23We'll give her one last good push right now and see what we come up with.
00:05:30Hey guys.
00:05:31How's it going?
00:05:32Thanks for coming to join me.
00:05:36No worries. What's going on?
00:05:38I just wanted to give you guys a little update on what needs to get done.
00:05:44What up?
00:05:46Where have you been?
00:05:47I call a meeting and you're late?
00:05:53I'm just kidding.
00:05:59For the final push, Parker's depending on his top lieutenants, Mitch Blaschke, Tyson Lee, and Brennan Rule.
00:06:08Thank you for getting us to the end here.
00:06:11Hit our 10,000, right?
00:06:13Yeah.
00:06:14Like sick.
00:06:15Yeah.
00:06:17Pretty wild.
00:06:18No doubt.
00:06:19Yeah.
00:06:20Well, what's the plan now?
00:06:22I want to just make sure that we finish strong here.
00:06:25Like despite, you know, we hit the goal, but Tony this spring told me that his goal was like 6
00:06:31,000 or 7,000 and he's over 10,000.
00:06:33Wow.
00:06:34And you know me well enough to know how much I hate losing.
00:06:40So I think you really have to turn your feet race up and all that jazz.
00:06:45That's mandatory.
00:06:47At Dominion, I mean, we need to get those pay piles hammered out.
00:06:51Yeah, they're still pretty big.
00:06:54Mitch, keep Roxanne running and that stripping project is the main priority.
00:07:00And Brennan, just whatever these guys need.
00:07:03Yeah.
00:07:05There's not a lot of tolerance for screw ups or delays.
00:07:10If there was ever a time to push extra late, now is the time.
00:07:15It would just go until either the weather shuts us down or every plan's out of pay.
00:07:19One of the two.
00:07:22Let's go do some sleuces.
00:07:24Yeah.
00:07:24Perfect.
00:07:24Yeah, let's get her done.
00:07:25Thank you guys.
00:07:30At Parker's flagship Dominion claim, Tyson must loose the last of the Golden Mile stockpiled pay through wash plants Big
00:07:42Red and Golden Goose.
00:07:45And with Bob in the bridge cut, mine as much of the remaining 30 acres as possible.
00:07:52Ten miles south at Parker's least ground, Kennan Stewart's.
00:07:58Mitch must run the pay from the last two acres of pit two with wash plant Roxanne.
00:08:05And remove the final four acres of worthless overburden from a new cut for next season.
00:08:14All before winter freezes them out.
00:08:26Right now we're at 26 on our adjuster here.
00:08:31All of a sudden you put that at 40.
00:08:34Look at how fast that dirt's coming off that belt.
00:08:39I've got the yardage cranked as fast as Roxanne can run.
00:08:42Trying to get it done as fast as possible.
00:08:45There's so much to do here.
00:08:46To finish off the sluicing we have to do, plus get all that mud removed for next season.
00:08:54I don't know if this is even remotely close to possible, but I'm going to try.
00:09:02This year my workload has pretty much tripled.
00:09:06It's been a struggle at times.
00:09:08Right now at Golden Goose, we've increased the feed rate to 250 yards an hour.
00:09:14Which only puts more pressure on us.
00:09:17The weather's going to really start freezing on us any day now.
00:09:20And I know everyone wants to go home, but you can't go home until this pile is complete.
00:09:26We're going to be sluicing to the bitter end.
00:09:54Hey Mike, are you ready?
00:09:56I'm always ready.
00:09:58Good, good.
00:09:58You're going to move this land?
00:10:00Yeah.
00:10:00You're going to .
00:10:02We have, what, a week left in the season.
00:10:04We were lucky.
00:10:04Yeah.
00:10:05And we're going to need that down there to beat Parker.
00:10:07OK.
00:10:08Let's go.
00:10:09OK, man.
00:10:09Bingo.
00:10:10Let's get the show on the road.
00:10:13Johnny, shut her down, Dylan.
00:10:25Everybody wants to go home, but you know what?
00:10:29Sucks to be there.
00:10:30The job is a job, and finish is finished.
00:10:33We're not finished by a long shot.
00:10:35The gold prize is absolutely just awesome.
00:10:39I mean, they're just kind of a chance of a life sign.
00:10:46Tony Beat's gold fever is relentless.
00:10:51After blasting past his seasoned target,
00:10:54he now has a new goal locked in his sights.
00:10:58Secure his crown as king of the Klondike.
00:11:05Parker, he seems to be right on my heels.
00:11:08So we'll just see on the end of the day
00:11:10who lands up on top this time.
00:11:15We made one more move for the season.
00:11:18We'll sluice a lot.
00:11:20Put it back into the early bird cut.
00:11:23If I'm going to go beat Parker,
00:11:25we will be sluicing with four boxes 24 hours a day.
00:11:31To stay ahead of Parker,
00:11:34Tony is matching his former protege's
00:11:37four-plant final push.
00:11:41At his Paradise Hill operation,
00:11:44Tony has tasked son Mike with finishing stockpiles
00:11:48at his trommel and Harold wash plants.
00:11:52Forty miles south at Indian River,
00:11:55his twin shaker decks,
00:11:57sluice-a-lot and find-a-lot,
00:11:59are in the 46-acre corner cut.
00:12:04But after two months of non-stop running,
00:12:07the mammoth cut only has enough pay left
00:12:10to run one plant.
00:12:13To keep both sluicing,
00:12:16Tony needs to move sluice-a-lot upstream,
00:12:19back to where he started the season,
00:12:21at a new three-acre extension
00:12:23of his early bird cut.
00:12:30Everything is hooked up,
00:12:31everything is ready.
00:12:32And off we go.
00:12:50So far so good.
00:12:52Plant is following good.
00:12:54A couple of corners,
00:12:56a couple of hills.
00:12:59Nothing we haven't done before,
00:13:00but we still got to get on it
00:13:02and make it work.
00:13:05Nice to keep this up.
00:13:07We'll be putting some rocks in there tonight.
00:13:09This will be good.
00:13:11Big ice in the cut.
00:13:13They better be ready.
00:13:17Stakes are extra high
00:13:18with the price of gold at the moment.
00:13:20At the new early bird extension,
00:13:23Tony's crew run full throttle
00:13:26to get the cut ready
00:13:27before sluice-a-lot arrives.
00:13:31There is a bit of a race this season
00:13:33between Tony and Parker
00:13:34to see who can get the most gold.
00:13:39Obviously, I'm rooting for the king of the Klondike.
00:13:41I'm team Tony all the way.
00:13:43I mean, of course.
00:13:46I wouldn't say that Tony's going to keep that title this year.
00:13:49I'd say Parker's going to win that one.
00:13:52He's going to have it in the bag.
00:13:55Up here where we're dumping,
00:13:56it's super soft,
00:13:57and we're almost getting stuck.
00:14:00But we've got to get it done.
00:14:01We've got to get sluicing.
00:14:03They're moving sluice-a-lot.
00:14:17They're moving sluice-a-lot.
00:14:20Truck over there.
00:14:23I'll go have a look.
00:14:26Oh, the .
00:14:27Who the was that smart?
00:14:29Yeah, I hear you.
00:14:31Who was driving that truck?
00:14:34I was.
00:14:36Tony's going to be passed.
00:14:48your people are stupid.
00:14:51Rock truck driver Scott Easley
00:14:54has flipped his box at Tony's early bird cut extension.
00:14:59The bank gave way.
00:15:01And then the thing just slowly went.
00:15:03I tried to put it in the drive and get going,
00:15:06and it was too late.
00:15:10Sluice-a-lot is less than a mile away
00:15:12and coming in fast.
00:15:16Final stress here.
00:15:18So I get there on the radio, another rock truck flip.
00:15:20So Tony's there giving a hand.
00:15:24We can't afford any more downtime.
00:15:26Winter is coming, and we want to get to that goal
00:15:30as soon as possible.
00:15:34Get over there, Dalton.
00:15:40I'll whip the over.
00:15:42You'll take the hole over?
00:15:44I'll flip the truck over.
00:15:45OK, copy Tony.
00:15:55If these people pay attention, you wouldn't have this .
00:15:58Just when you think you've seen it all.
00:16:01OK, let's grab the thing.
00:16:04Flip it over.
00:16:15Yeah, there you go.
00:16:20So the new path is in sight.
00:16:22The road ahead looks pretty good.
00:16:27Hey, in that truck.
00:16:28Sorry, Tony.
00:16:29I need to pay attention.
00:16:34Thank God I ain't tired.
00:16:36When Tony ran up, I thought I was a dead man.
00:16:41Oh, .
00:16:42Sluice-a-lot is here.
00:16:44Get the out of the way.
00:16:45Get that other truck truck out of the way.
00:16:49Mike, do you copy?
00:16:51All trucks are gone.
00:16:52You should be good.
00:16:55Climb up this last little hill.
00:16:58We're on the path.
00:16:59I just gotta make sure to get it as close to the end as possible.
00:17:09Hey, just the other half.
00:17:11Give it a half a turn.
00:17:14Keep around, keep around, keep around, keep around, keep around.
00:17:24Perfect.
00:17:25There we go.
00:17:26Tony gave me the sign that it's good.
00:17:32Now we get two, three guys coming in.
00:17:34Drag that hose over.
00:17:36Get the excavator over there.
00:17:37Hook up the hose.
00:17:39Drive the gen set beside it.
00:17:41Bingo.
00:17:41Done.
00:17:47I'll fire the plant up, and we'll be back to sluicing.
00:17:56All right, we've got the thumbs up.
00:17:59Off we go.
00:18:01Tony is back to four plants running in his push for mining supremacy.
00:18:08I think it'd be hard for Parker to compete.
00:18:11I think everyone who works here has seen how much we've moved this season,
00:18:14and we have no doubt Tony is the king of the Klondike.
00:18:21I gotta remember to give Parker a present.
00:18:25I'm number one, buddy.
00:18:43There's quite a bit of pressure right now.
00:18:46The plants ran out of pay.
00:18:49Still all overburdened.
00:18:51We're trying to get into pay as quick as we can.
00:18:55This is one of the worst spots I've ever been in.
00:18:57We've got to get back on that goal.
00:18:58We've got to do it quick.
00:18:59I know the guys are nervous.
00:19:01I'm nervous.
00:19:03Winter will soon freeze all the miners out.
00:19:06But unlike others, Rick Ness' future is on a knife's edge.
00:19:12It's been a tough year.
00:19:13There's no doubt about it.
00:19:14These guys have fought through a lot of that we shouldn't have to fight through.
00:19:19We're 420 ounces shy of our goal yet, and that's a lot.
00:19:23That's a lot of ounces to get, and we don't have a whole lot of time to do it.
00:19:27In a chaotic season of uncertainty and major missteps,
00:19:33Rick gambled a million dollars mining a massive new cut,
00:19:38only to get no gold.
00:19:41That was a big debacle, a huge waste of money and time.
00:19:44People are hoping that I'm panicking.
00:19:46The vultures are circling right now, but I'm not panicking yet.
00:19:50Buyout offers from big shots Tony and Parker have come in.
00:19:55I've been offered a seven-figure amount for this, and it's a lot.
00:20:00It's tough to ignore.
00:20:02Maybe it's time to go.
00:20:05But if we hit our goal or get past it, and then the profits can continue to get better,
00:20:09why would I leave?
00:20:13Now, as Rick's crew fight to dig out the final 10 feet to hit pay in the last-chance cut,
00:20:20he's got a risky Hail Mary plan to get more gold fast.
00:20:27It's going to be a fight.
00:20:29But with these guys all in on it, I know we can get it.
00:20:36Cool out, guys.
00:20:37What's going on?
00:20:37What's up?
00:20:40I just want to thank you guys.
00:20:41You guys have been doing a hell of a job.
00:20:44That being said, I know you're all tired from it and giving it all you've got,
00:20:47but we're still way off from our target, and that would be devastating if we're short.
00:20:54The gold would be in that dirt, for sure.
00:20:56But I think it's going to come right down to the bitter end.
00:21:00We're running out of time.
00:21:01Well, I think we need to give a little more, and I think we need to get back to Lightning
00:21:04Creek.
00:21:06One last push down there.
00:21:11Yeah, that gold wasn't that good to begin with.
00:21:14Yeah, but it was picking up at the end.
00:21:16What if we do another clean out here and we're short?
00:21:19If we pull another 50 ounces from there, I mean, that's big.
00:21:23I mean, you guys got to stay, get Monster Red running, that's the priority.
00:21:27But we need everything we can get.
00:21:30The way it's set up down there, you know, we get going right away.
00:21:33Yeah.
00:21:34We're almost at the end, and let's just push a little harder, we're going to be there, right?
00:21:37Yep.
00:21:38Yep.
00:21:38All right.
00:21:42Early in the season, Rick bought new ground at Lightning Creek.
00:21:47Let's do it.
00:21:48All right.
00:21:50After a shaky start, the gold improved.
00:21:5550.4.
00:21:56Yeah, that's way better than the last time.
00:21:58I got some news.
00:21:59Then, a six-month license extension to mine Duncan Creek came in.
00:22:04We got a water license.
00:22:05Yeah.
00:22:06Yeah.
00:22:06Yeah.
00:22:07Rick abandoned Lightning Creek.
00:22:10Shut down Lightning Creek.
00:22:11We're moving back to Vegas Valley.
00:22:13Sounds good to me, man.
00:22:17Now, he wants to squeeze another 50 ounces from Lightning Creek to help get him over the line.
00:22:27I hope this move's going to be worth it in Lightning, but, you know, we won't know until we start
00:22:32running some dirt.
00:22:33If we do reach that 1,800, my mind's going to be blown because with all the struggles we've had
00:22:38this year.
00:22:40Since I've joined Rick, it's always been a push, it's always been a gamble, and in Rick fashion, we are
00:22:47swinging for the fence again at the end of the year.
00:22:51While the stripping crew battle on in the last chance cut, Rick and Kai head eight miles north to Lightning
00:22:59Creek to sluice a leftover pay pile with wash plant Rocky.
00:23:05Everything should be good to go.
00:23:07We got enough pay up there right now to start off the plant.
00:23:11All right.
00:23:12This hokey old thing.
00:23:14All right.
00:23:15Let me give this thing a shot here.
00:23:17Come on, you old girl.
00:23:33Let's go.
00:23:34Here we go.
00:23:35Let's do it.
00:23:40We got water.
00:23:41We got power.
00:23:42The shaker deck's moving, so I have to throw some dirt at it and get some gold.
00:23:48Fire.
00:23:52There we go.
00:23:58Oh, hell yeah.
00:24:00Rocky sluicing.
00:24:01Rick is one step closer to pulling off his double plant plan and banking the 420 ounces he needs.
00:24:12Everything looks good.
00:24:26No way.
00:24:29Oh .
00:24:30You got to be kidding me.
00:24:34What happened?
00:24:38.
00:24:39.
00:24:40.
00:24:40.
00:24:40.
00:24:50Well, look at this.
00:24:52It's still smoking.
00:25:04Well, I don't know.
00:25:06At Lightning Creek, the feed pump for Rick Ness' wash plant Rocky has failed.
00:25:14.
00:25:14.
00:25:14.
00:25:14.
00:25:15.
00:25:18That's the belt that drives the cooling system.
00:25:19That's why the thing's smoking, because it's overheating.
00:25:22This tension should not be that loose.
00:25:24That's what holds tension on the belt, right?
00:25:26So when it's loose, it just hops, hops, hops, and that belt just rips.
00:25:29And then it stopped cooling, so then it overheated.
00:25:32This thing has just shot to hell.
00:25:34Cheese toast.
00:25:36Rick's desperate push to get two plants running is over before it even started.
00:25:44.
00:25:44Very quick, very catastrophic end to the day.
00:25:46Got half a bucket through that thing.
00:25:48I mean, that's something worth getting out of bed for.
00:25:50Now, his only hope for 420 ounces lies in the last chance cut and getting Monster Red sluicing.
00:26:00Well, that's pretty .
00:26:01Sad showing.
00:26:04The last chance cut, that's what we have to do.
00:26:06The goal will be there.
00:26:07It's just whether or not we can get at it.
00:26:09Well, hopefully it's enough.
00:26:26It's getting cold and people are wore out.
00:26:30It's just been a long season for everybody.
00:26:33The overarching theme for me is doing everything we can to find as much gold as we can.
00:26:40100 miles west, with four wash plants going full tilt, Parker is within striking distance of Tony's Gold Hall.
00:26:51It puts a huge amount of pressure on keeping wash plants running.
00:26:56It just consumes my thoughts now.
00:26:59Yeah.
00:27:00In the Golden Mile, Golden Goose and Big Red power through the pay piles at a combined season max of
00:27:10500 yards an hour.
00:27:12Doing pretty good down here at Big Red.
00:27:17I can do my best to get through as much as I can.
00:27:38What the going on up here?
00:27:44Oh, yeah .
00:27:45My shaker deck shut off.
00:27:57Oh, you , whoo, I'm out of breath.
00:28:03The shaker deck stopped.
00:28:08Nothing's working.
00:28:10Alec, Liam, do you got a copy?
00:28:13Yeah, go ahead.
00:28:14Hey, man, my shaker deck shut off,
00:28:17and I need you guys up here right now.
00:28:20OK, yeah, we're on our way.
00:28:22Thanks, buddy.
00:28:24me.
00:28:26Oh, I'm sick of this .
00:28:30Oh, the Calvary's arrived.
00:28:38We replaced the motor a couple of months ago,
00:28:41so that should still be good.
00:28:44Holy.
00:28:46When was the last time this was open?
00:28:49I think the feed conveyor is the shaker now,
00:28:52because that's the motor wires there.
00:28:53Oh, what?
00:28:54I'm imagining the shaker contactor malfunctioned or broke,
00:28:58and that's why we're running this backup feed conveyor one.
00:29:01It's been hours.
00:29:02Now this guy has probably failed.
00:29:08What's going on, guys?
00:29:11We're not able to get the shaker motor going.
00:29:13Seriously?
00:29:14Yeah.
00:29:15Something in our contact brick here is malfunctioning.
00:29:18It's not letting power go from here to here.
00:29:23Can't sluice without it.
00:29:26Well, do you guys think we have one?
00:29:28No.
00:29:29We don't have any replacement parts or any contactors
00:29:33that look like this in stock.
00:29:34F*** sakes, man.
00:29:36I'll go and find Parker.
00:29:41We can't go home until the Golden Mile is sluice.
00:29:44Without Big Red, I don't think it's going to happen.
00:29:47Parker's not going to be happy.
00:29:53How's it going?
00:29:54What's going on?
00:29:57Big Red's contactor, essentially the starter for the shaker
00:30:00deck, just s*** the bed.
00:30:02F***.
00:30:04There's no real solution for it.
00:30:08F***.
00:30:09We don't have one, huh?
00:30:11No.
00:30:14And with the weather the way it is, if we lose the night,
00:30:17we're screwed.
00:30:18We don't have one, huh?
00:30:19I'll get one as quick as we can.
00:30:21Um, I'm going to have to hunt down Jack, so I'll get him in
00:30:26the air.
00:30:26Okay.
00:30:27And we'll have one by the end of the day.
00:30:30Maybe.
00:30:30If it doesn't look like we can get one tonight, then...
00:30:35Frost Fighters on the sluice runs.
00:30:36Good s***.
00:30:37It's a nightmare.
00:30:39Um...
00:30:39Alright.
00:30:40Sounds good.
00:30:40Thanks.
00:30:48To Whitehorse, it's a seven, eight-hour drive each way.
00:30:53Jack's an hour and a half to Whitehorse and an hour and a
00:30:56half back, so the plane is paying for itself on runs like this.
00:31:00Parker owns a Cessna 172 and employs a pilot full-time.
00:31:07Jack fills his time when he's not flying with, um,
00:31:11running an excavator, and he is right here.
00:31:23Big Red's down for some electrical part.
00:31:25They have one in Whitehorse.
00:31:27Can you fly down and grab it?
00:31:28Yeah.
00:31:28Okay, perfect.
00:31:29Time is of the essence.
00:31:30Can you spin up there now?
00:31:31Sure.
00:31:32Perfect.
00:31:33I'll try to get down to Whitehorse, grab that part,
00:31:35and get back up as fast as I can.
00:31:47We'll get it slammed in and get the plant back up and running.
00:31:51If we don't get it back here tonight, we're in trouble.
00:32:06Is that enough?
00:32:07Yeah.
00:32:09We've got to run a little bit of water.
00:32:11The cold might shift a bit, but we can't let Big Red freeze right now.
00:32:17Parker Schnabel's wash plant, Big Red, is down with an electrical failure.
00:32:23If it doesn't fire up before nightfall, it will freeze.
00:32:28This is about the worst time Big Red could have bet on us.
00:32:32Hopefully Jack can get us the part here in no time.
00:32:35Parker's crew are praying for a replacement part to be flown in from Whitehorse,
00:32:41300 miles away.
00:32:44I guess we play the waiting game now.
00:32:53Is that an airplane out here?
00:32:55I think so.
00:32:56Is that Jack?
00:32:58Yeah, Jack?
00:32:59Yeah!
00:33:01There we go!
00:33:18You got the goods?
00:33:19I got the goods.
00:33:21Hopefully that's the right one.
00:33:23Sick.
00:33:24Thank you, Jack.
00:33:25I'll see you later.
00:33:26You're a lifesaver.
00:33:38Oh, man!
00:33:39Woo!
00:33:40He's got it!
00:33:40Our savior!
00:33:42That's awesome.
00:33:43Wicked.
00:33:44Thank you so much.
00:33:44No worries.
00:33:46Let me know when you get it back up and running.
00:33:48Yeah, buddy.
00:33:49All right. Thanks, guys.
00:33:50Let's get this new guy hung and see if we can get this plant shaken again.
00:33:53Perfect.
00:33:54This is so crusty.
00:33:55Oh, don't break anything.
00:34:01Okay.
00:34:02That's our new part installed.
00:34:04Sweet.
00:34:05Yeah, let's do it.
00:34:10Moment of truth here.
00:34:11See what happens.
00:34:19Okay.
00:34:20Yep.
00:34:28Nice work, fellas.
00:34:29Beautiful sight, isn't it?
00:34:32Thank God.
00:34:35Parker was able to pull it off.
00:34:37We got Big Red back up and running.
00:34:39So all we have to do is finish off the last bit of pay and go home.
00:34:57And if everything does go belly up, I can actually hear Tony.
00:35:02Sucks to be you.
00:35:07I think deep down, even though they don't say it, they'd be pretty heartbroken that I wasn't able to
00:35:12make it happen.
00:35:15While dad Tony battles for mining supremacy, eldest son Kevin Beetz is in deep trouble.
00:35:27What separates me from Tony is just more planning and foresight, less smashy, smashy.
00:35:37But Tony did pull out 10,000 ounces this year, so he's doing something right.
00:35:43Unlike his swashbuckling old man, all season, the sophomore mine boss has been sluicing slow and
00:35:51steady to protect his equipment and only wash plant. But low risk has delivered low rewards,
00:35:59leaving Kevin nearly 800 ounces short of his 2,000 ounce gold.
00:36:07That's a big number for us because we need that to come back next year.
00:36:10That covers all our costs. That gets us enough to get started next year.
00:36:13And if we don't have that, we're running on fumes.
00:36:21So we're going to fight and we're going to make it happen.
00:36:34Look at it flying in there.
00:36:37Kevin's Hail Mary plan? Turn up his wash plant speed for the first time this season.
00:36:44From 100 to 150 yards per hour in the hope he can get through his Sphinx gut pay pile before
00:36:53winter
00:36:54freezes him out. Hopefully that'll put us on the fast track to 2,000 ounces.
00:37:00We got it turned up. So we're just slamming the pay in there.
00:37:05Chelsea March keeps pace with the turned up plant.
00:37:09We've got a pretty big pay pile to get through. I don't know if we're going to have enough time
00:37:14to
00:37:15run all this pay through before the end of the season, honestly. So,
00:37:19yeah, we just have to sluice as much as we possibly can and run through this pay.
00:37:33Looks like we've lost water to the plant.
00:37:36Hey, Tyler, there's no water at the plant. I'm going to shut it down.
00:37:39I'm going to shut it down.
00:37:40Okay, 10-4.
00:37:53Jack, the pump's smoking. The pump's smoking.
00:37:56Holy .
00:37:59Copy, Kevin? Yeah, you got to get down here. The pump's on fire. The pump is on fire.
00:38:05That is a lot of smoke coming out of there right now.
00:38:25Oh, oh. I shouldn't have touched that. Ah, ah. What the ?
00:38:34Don't touch that here. That's also hot. Okay.
00:38:39Well.
00:38:43So our return fuel lines and it looks like the injectors too.
00:38:48Kevin's last-ditch plant has backfired. When he turned up the plant,
00:38:54he increased his pump's water pressure to deal with the extra dirt.
00:38:58The added workload has blown the pump's fuel lines and injectors.
00:39:03This kind of puts us dead in the water until we can fix it,
00:39:07find a replacement or something.
00:39:10You know, so close to the end.
00:39:14Can't stop now, though. So, I will go bug Faith and see if she can do the magic that she
00:39:20do.
00:39:21Because, yeah, if not, well, that's it. We're done.
00:39:41Okay, Faith.
00:39:42Hey.
00:39:45How's it going?
00:39:47Uh, the pump has basically gone completely bluey.
00:39:54Okay. Um, and you, I'm guessing you can't fix it.
00:39:59I know the last time we tried to get similar parts, there was at least a two-week venture.
00:40:03So, and with the time we have left, I don't think that's going to work.
00:40:08Or we could try, asking Tony, see what he says.
00:40:14Yeah, don't really like to go back to the old man.
00:40:18I'd rather we fail on our own than just keep getting help.
00:40:25It is close to the end of the season.
00:40:27Chances are someone's selling him a pump.
00:40:29Yeah. Yeah.
00:40:31I'll reach out to a couple of miners that I know around the area.
00:40:36Yeah.
00:40:37Well, I'll go, yeah, redirect the troops if you want to get on that and
00:40:43best of luck, man.
00:40:44You as well.
00:40:49Oh, sucks.
00:40:54I really hope she can pull something out of the ether.
00:40:58If I don't get the pump, I don't know if we're going to be able to come back.
00:41:01I'm a bit worried.
00:41:03This is Kevin's dream.
00:41:05This is our dream to run the business ourselves.
00:41:10Hopefully we get to keep on with this dream.
00:41:20So, I got my fingers crossed.
00:41:23At Scribner Creek, Kevin's fight for survival relies on partner Faith finding a new pump for
00:41:30his wash plant.
00:41:33Got good news?
00:41:35The neighbor is shutting down.
00:41:36Yes.
00:41:37We have a pump right there.
00:41:39That's very nice.
00:41:40Yes.
00:41:40I assume we're first in line.
00:41:42Yes.
00:41:43Well, at least we have to run right now to go get it.
00:41:45Oh, hell.
00:41:47All right.
00:41:47Okay.
00:41:48I'm guessing you're going to go deal with the money part?
00:41:50Yes.
00:41:51I should go grab it?
00:41:52Yes.
00:41:53All right.
00:41:53Sounds good.
00:41:53Let's do that.
00:41:59New pump on site.
00:42:02Kevin tasks Buzz Legault.
00:42:04Gavin, let's hook that first.
00:42:06With lifting the old one out and new one into position.
00:42:13You know, everybody's been busting their asses off around here this season,
00:42:17trying to make things happen so you can hit that season goal.
00:42:22So then this big hit and pump goes.
00:42:25This is quite a heart wrench.
00:42:28Hopefully everything works out.
00:42:31All right.
00:42:32Let's fire it up.
00:42:41I can see it from here.
00:42:42We got water.
00:42:44Means pump is working.
00:42:46She's flooring all the way over there.
00:42:49Listen how nice that sounds.
00:42:53Very nice.
00:42:55Back to getting some gold.
00:42:57Yeah.
00:42:59Oh, beauty.
00:43:17Hello, hello.
00:43:19It's running again.
00:43:20Yay.
00:43:23Oh my gosh.
00:43:25And with the pay file, we can at least get through it now.
00:43:28You saved the day, Faith.
00:43:31Faith did good finding that pump.
00:43:33It's running lovely.
00:43:34We can finally get through our hay mountain.
00:43:36Plants all turned up.
00:43:38I think it's a good day.
00:44:01We're finally on pay, boys.
00:44:04Start making that stockpile.
00:44:06Well, hot diggity dog.
00:44:08In the last chance cut, the Ness crew have finally hit pay and now must sluice nonstop to have any
00:44:20hope of reaching their 1800 ounce goal.
00:44:25We're way too close to the end of the season to be sitting at 400 and some ounces shy of
00:44:30our goal.
00:44:31It's going to come down right to the last date.
00:44:34Just go right on top.
00:44:36The crew hustled to build a stockpile in time to fire up for night shift.
00:44:43There it is.
00:44:44There's some good sized boulders, which is a good sign.
00:44:48There's normally good gold.
00:44:51I just hope that there's going to be enough gold in it to reach our goal.
00:44:58The rock looks good.
00:44:59It does, actually.
00:45:03The weather's moving in, so it's going to be pretty important once this plant fires up that we don't stop
00:45:07running this plant.
00:45:16It's chilly.
00:45:17Yes.
00:45:18Six hours after hitting pay, as the temperatures drop to 28 degrees, there's finally enough stockpiled pay to fire up.
00:45:30She's frosty.
00:45:32Yeah, the carpets are hard.
00:45:34Ain't going to thaw until we get fired up.
00:45:36Nope.
00:45:42Boy, she sounds cold.
00:45:48It's time.
00:45:50Rick better get his night shift ready.
00:45:53That ain't shutting off.
00:46:00You ready for this, buddy?
00:46:02Yeah.
00:46:05Everything's fueled, everything's topped off, so I think you guys are ready to rock and roll, man.
00:46:09Thanks again.
00:46:09All right, brother.
00:46:10Thanks, Kyle.
00:46:11Get the out of here for the night.
00:46:12Yeah.
00:46:12All right, you ready?
00:46:13Let's do it, buddy.
00:46:17Rick and Zee step up to work through the night,
00:46:21so the exhausted crew can get some sleep.
00:46:33We've got no choice right now.
00:46:34We've got to run the wheels off of everything if we want to get to 1,800 ounces,
00:46:37and running the night shift the way we've got to do it.
00:46:41Hey, Rick, you got a copy?
00:46:43Yeah, go ahead.
00:46:44I'll tell you what.
00:46:45It's more stressful doing it at night.
00:46:47It's really hard to see.
00:46:50I've been told I do my best work in the dark, but like, I don't know about this.
00:46:55This is Zee's last shift before he heads home for the season.
00:47:01It sucks going home this early.
00:47:04I'm just stressed at home.
00:47:06We haven't hit our goal yet, so if you have pay laying on the ground,
00:47:11and there's hours left in the day, you run the plan.
00:47:28Hey, Rick, you got a copy?
00:47:31Yeah, go for Rick.
00:47:32There's a clog on this hopper.
00:47:38Oh, .
00:47:43Damn it.
00:47:48Dude, this whole feeder's piled up.
00:47:51I don't know why it stopped.
00:47:53Some got caught in there.
00:48:05There's two flat rocks just jammed in here on the side.
00:48:08It is loose now.
00:48:11You can see all the flat ones here, too.
00:48:13Look, that got through.
00:48:14I know.
00:48:14I think that's it.
00:48:18Let's give her .
00:48:29It ain't spinning.
00:48:31Oh, .
00:48:47It ain't spinning.
00:48:50Yeah.
00:48:51The head drum's spinning, but it's not catching the belt.
00:48:54I can't get traction.
00:48:56At Duncan Creek, the feed conveyor on Rick's monster red wash plant has failed to fire up in the cold.
00:49:05Maybe I just heat that up.
00:49:07Can you grab that tiger torch?
00:49:09Yeah.
00:49:14Thanks, buddy.
00:49:17This is the head drum.
00:49:18This is what turns.
00:49:20It's really cold, so when rubber gets cold, it gets hard, and it's just not catching.
00:49:25I should just be able to add some heat to it, warm it up.
00:49:29It should get some traction.
00:49:37Shutting it down like this is a killer.
00:49:49Oh, that should do it.
00:49:51Should be warm enough to get going.
00:49:52We'll see.
00:49:54Good.
00:49:55Good.
00:49:55Here we go.
00:49:56Ready?
00:49:57Yep, ready.
00:50:07Keep moving.
00:50:09We're good.
00:50:11yeah.
00:50:12Good to go, buddy.
00:50:16If you don't laugh, it's just going to make you crazy.
00:50:19love it, buddy.
00:50:21Nice job.
00:50:23There's always something happening, especially this time of year.
00:50:26But we are still running, and we're going to stay that way.
00:50:29But we've got a long ways to go.
00:50:49Mike, do you have a copy, Mike?
00:50:52Is someone calling for me?
00:50:53Yeah, Mike, we're all done with the pay.
00:50:55We just put the last bucket through for the season.
00:51:00It all looks pretty good, Mike, huh?
00:51:02Yes.
00:51:03Shut the thing down, clean it up, it's all the quits.
00:51:06Yeah, yeah, then I'll do that.
00:51:08Anyway, I'm pretty happy with this, and I'll go back to the Union River.
00:51:12It would be nice if you could get rid of that pay pile here by the end of the week.
00:51:16Sounds like a plan, Dad.
00:51:18Tony's Harold wash plant has run the last of its pay pile, putting the king a plant down in his
00:51:26battle to beat Parker.
00:51:29We're still going, sluicing away with three and a go.
00:51:33How long as the weather is holding up, we will be sluicing.
00:51:37If that means you miss a night of sleep, we'll so be it.
00:51:41But we got to go, we got to go.
00:51:44Tony heads back to Indian River to keep his two shaker decks on the gold, leaving youngest son,
00:51:53Mike, at Paradise Hill to finish a stockpile at the beat's biggest gold producer, the Trummel.
00:52:01The end is nigh.
00:52:03I am looking forward to being done for the year because I am tired.
00:52:07But you're going to have to run us 24 hours a day to get through all the pay I got.
00:52:12I want to go out with lots of gold, you know, go out in a bang, as it were.
00:52:18Copy, Mike?
00:52:20Yeah, go ahead.
00:52:21Yeah, their distributor is spinning. I need you over here now.
00:52:25You shut her down. I'll be there in a second.
00:52:27Copy.
00:52:29I mean, I really don't need no big problems today.
00:52:37What the kind of idiot?
00:52:42Look at this.
00:52:44Just look at this.
00:52:51Holy .
00:52:55The whole thing is full of big rocks that completely jammed up my distributor.
00:53:02Oh, man.
00:53:04This is a serious dump.
00:53:09The Trummel filters gold from worthless dirt, throwing the waste tailings out the back of its barrel.
00:53:19Overnight, these tailings have built up, spilling into a chute that feeds the plant's distributor box.
00:53:26The spinning pipes that should evenly spread the gold-rich slurry into the sluice runs below
00:53:33have clogged up, eventually blocking the whole distributor.
00:53:37To clear the system, Mike needs to remove the rock gem and flush out the box,
00:53:45including half a night's worth of gold-rich pay dirt.
00:53:50Starter, zapper!
00:54:02The rocks, big rocks, as you can see coming out.
00:54:08It's a long and painful process of just getting in there and pulling it out.
00:54:14As far as the Trummel goes, it's the biggest I've ever seen.
00:54:24Watch out, gentlemen!
00:54:26Halfway through his day shift, Mike has enough cleared to open up the bypass
00:54:32and flush the rest of the rocks and the gold-rich pay dirt.
00:54:37Love to hear that.
00:54:39That's the sound of money washing away.
00:54:43Return on the distributor, please.
00:54:59He says it's f***ed.
00:55:01Huh?
00:55:02He went like this.
00:55:03He says it's f***ed.
00:55:11Motor's fried.
00:55:17Kill it.
00:55:37Get that one off, get him to bring it up here.
00:55:39At Paradise Hill, after clearing a rock jam in the Trummel's distributor,
00:55:45now it won't fire up, leaving the beets with just two plants running.
00:55:51Ow, you f***ed.
00:55:52And only days of sluicing left.
00:55:54Whoa!
00:55:56It's a little on the crispy side.
00:55:59Rock got caught, and if jammed the f***ing stopped and the f***ing motor couldn't turn.
00:56:05Unable to turn the distributor, the motor burnt itself out and needs replacing.
00:56:12I got a motor here.
00:56:14Hopefully we don't have any problems with this one.
00:56:17Okay, gentlemen, we're going to start putting it back together.
00:56:20Everybody in the hole.
00:56:24I could be sluicing tonight.
00:56:25That's if everything goes right.
00:56:27But considering how my luck's been going with this plant,
00:56:30I'm probably going to find about eight little problems.
00:56:35Okay, you're good to go.
00:56:38Once it warms, fire it up and just turn on the distributor.
00:56:51It works good.
00:56:56Turn the sluice locks on.
00:57:08Ah, there it is.
00:57:14Hey you, got it working again.
00:57:17Awesome.
00:57:32After eight hours shut down,
00:57:37Mike has the Beetz family empire back to running three plants for the final push.
00:57:44That was quite a disaster, eh?
00:57:46Yeah.
00:57:46Good job, man.
00:57:48That's all I can say.
00:57:49Unfortunately, I'm experienced in it.
00:57:52I know.
00:58:13The temperatures are well below freezing.
00:58:18I was hoping to be in a better place than we are right now.
00:58:21But it is what it is.
00:58:23We still got paid right here.
00:58:24And we've got a cut that needs to be down to gravel if we're going to get it sluiced next
00:58:28season.
00:58:30At Kennan Stewart's, Parker has foreman Mitch running night shift to help him beat Tony.
00:58:37And Mitch wants to finish ahead of schedule.
00:58:42I'm trying to make it home in time for my daughter's birthday and for that to happen.
00:58:46I've got to have everything here finished tonight and be on the road first thing in the morning.
00:58:52Got quite a bit of pay here to get through.
00:58:55I'm not a real big fan of the night shifts, but the stuff we all got to do, you know.
00:59:01By the end of the shift, Sean must sluice 2,000 yards of the pay pile through wash plant Roxanne.
00:59:10And in the cut, Mitch and Brennan and two D11 dozers must remove the final acre of a four-foot
00:59:18-deep layer of mud.
00:59:22Then rip through the frozen pay layer beneath to allow it to fall.
00:59:29We're just going to have to push through and get it all done as fast as we can here.
00:59:34This is it. We've got to make it happen tonight.
00:59:41I appreciate you putting in the extra hours out here to help me get all this done.
00:59:46Oh, man, I couldn't be happier to help you, my friend.
00:59:48I'm hoping to be able to get home for my daughter's birthday in time.
00:59:52How old is she turning this year?
00:59:55Dude, going to be six already.
00:59:58Feels like two years ago when I was racing home to be there when she was born.
01:00:05Yeah, man, seeing how old Pistol is now, dude.
01:00:09It's hard not to get sad and look back on all the days that I missed him being a young
01:00:13kid, you know.
01:00:15But I've always been able to block it out of my mind pretty good while I'm up here.
01:00:26You know, you don't need to lie saying that you blocked things out of your mind there.
01:00:30I know there's not much up there anyway.
01:00:40Come on, baby. Come on.
01:00:45Oh, come on, baby. Come on. Come on.
01:00:51Yeah, buddy. We're rolling it now.
01:00:54A lot of horsepower side by side here, Mitch.
01:00:57Buddy, there it is. Look at that pile of dirt.
01:01:08I'm starting to see some gravel here kicking up. How are you looking?
01:01:12Guys, I think I'm starting to see you the same here. Hell yeah.
01:01:17Let's get this stuff ripped up and out of here on time.
01:01:20Right on, buddy.
01:01:22Mud removed, Mitch and Brennan used the D-11's powerful rippers to tear up the frozen gravel layer.
01:01:33Oh, you got to be kidding me. Come on, man.
01:01:44Oh, man. She's ground right down. There is no way that's going to make it.
01:01:59We are so close to having this done, but that tooth is not going to make it through the rest
01:02:03of this.
01:02:04At Kennan Stewart's, Mitch Blaschke's mission to rip a frozen cut by morning has ground to a halt.
01:02:13You can see here, this is our ripper tooth.
01:02:16When you're ripping in this gravel, it's so abrasive that this last little bit that's left here,
01:02:21like that'll be gone in a couple of pushes.
01:02:23We're going to rip down, grab a new tooth. We'll be able to finish this out with one more.
01:02:28If the tooth is left to wear down any further, the ripper shank will be damaged.
01:02:37Sun's starting to come up. We don't got a lot of time left.
01:02:40We got some spare parts up top. Let's go have a look.
01:02:45Get this thing done, man. We're so close.
01:02:54Oh, is it heavy?
01:02:58We're going to go rip down and throw it on that dozer.
01:03:01Get back out there.
01:03:06Found one, buddy.
01:03:10You ready?
01:03:16Perfect.
01:03:17All right, let's get back out there. We're about out of time.
01:03:19Sounds good.
01:03:26Yeah, buddy. Here we go.
01:03:29Back in action.
01:03:37Just got to get this last little bit ripped.
01:03:39We're going to have this thing done.
01:03:50Well, Brennan, I'm seeing lots of rock in this.
01:03:53I think this is exactly where we need to be.
01:03:56That's the best news I've heard all night, man.
01:03:59We've got this cut down on gravel for next season here at Ken's.
01:04:09Well, buddy, we did it.
01:04:11Yeah, nice work, brother.
01:04:12Man, what a project, dude. What a season.
01:04:15It's been a hell of a year working with you, man.
01:04:18Yeah, man, it's been a fun year.
01:04:21I've got to get down and check on Roxanne.
01:04:32You never know what the weather's going to do up here in the Yukon.
01:04:36It's our first snowfall for the season.
01:04:38Hopefully this doesn't hang around for long.
01:04:41It's such a good feeling here to be at the finish line.
01:04:46Here comes the boss now.
01:04:54What's happening?
01:04:55Oh, you know.
01:05:00Beautiful day.
01:05:01Yeah.
01:05:04We knew it was coming.
01:05:06Yeah.
01:05:08Hopefully it doesn't hang out for too long, get it to burn off.
01:05:10It's going to be a nice day.
01:05:12Yeah.
01:05:14Well, it looks like you're about done.
01:05:16You don't have much of a pile left.
01:05:18Yeah, I was shrinking pretty quick.
01:05:20Stripping is done, so we made it.
01:05:23Sweet.
01:05:24You've done your tour of duty.
01:05:25You've had a hell of a season, Mitch.
01:05:28Good job, man.
01:05:29Thanks, dude.
01:05:30Appreciate it.
01:05:41This is so awesome to see what we've accomplished this season.
01:05:45What the best part is now, it's time to go home and I need to spend some time with my
01:05:49family.
01:05:50He's done an incredible job,
01:05:52but regardless of that, we've got a lot of ground still to mine.
01:06:09There's just a few sweets left.
01:06:12The Ness crew have been running last chance pay through Monster Red flat out for four days.
01:06:21The material looks really good.
01:06:24Hopefully, it's going to deliver us close to 420 ounces.
01:06:28You know, I'm pretty confident that we'll get a good clean out on this, but will it be enough?
01:06:33I'm not sure.
01:06:35If we can get our 1,800-ounce gold, Rick will give us a gold bonus, so it's going to
01:06:40cross my fingers.
01:06:43We're out of pay.
01:06:43We've got to shut down.
01:06:45That's it.
01:06:48Shut it down.
01:06:50With the last chance pay done, Rick calls time on the season.
01:06:57That's it.
01:06:59Now we've just got to hope that the gold's in the box.
01:07:02We've got to weigh it up and see where we end up.
01:07:08After cleaning up the gold, Rick's crew gather in the only bar in Keno for the make-or-break
01:07:15final gold way of the season.
01:07:18What a year.
01:07:19A little stressful.
01:07:20Yeah, this year we're going to round for us all year.
01:07:25Hello.
01:07:25What's going on, Rick?
01:07:27You guys are all here waiting on me.
01:07:29All right.
01:07:29I've got a present for you.
01:07:31Oh.
01:07:34Oh, here's my drink, yeah.
01:07:36Oh, look at that.
01:07:37Thank you, sir.
01:07:39Yeah, in the season.
01:07:40We made it through another one, though.
01:07:43Time to find out if they've banked enough gold to make their bonus and secure their future.
01:07:50Or if it's time for Rick to sell up.
01:07:55I don't ever want to start a season like we did this year.
01:07:57It's just this water licensing.
01:07:58It's just so tough.
01:07:59We were lucky to find some ground this spring.
01:08:02You know, we got some gold out of it.
01:08:04I think there's gold there.
01:08:05It's definitely good for the future.
01:08:06I mean, I don't know what you guys think about it, but would you come back for Lightning Creek?
01:08:11That's a, I hate to be in that dude, but that's a tough one for me to come back to
01:08:16if we don't have a water license for Duncan Creek.
01:08:19I'm going to be honest, man.
01:08:20I'm in limbo.
01:08:21Yeah, for sure.
01:08:23I don't know what it looks like.
01:08:24Yeah, I'll be honest with you.
01:08:25We're just trying to survive this season at the moment.
01:08:29Well, maybe we should see what we got, eh?
01:08:30Let's do it.
01:08:31Let's do it.
01:08:32I'm sure you're dying to know.
01:08:33All right, we are.
01:08:35To hit his 1,800-ounce goal, Rick needs the last chance cut to deliver 420 ounces.
01:08:45All right, moment of truth.
01:08:5010, 20, 30, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100.
01:09:0410, 30, 100.
01:09:14131.91.
01:09:21Oh.
01:09:21Well, but we got more.
01:09:26All right, there's 100.
01:09:30There's no 100.
01:09:36That means 431.91.
01:09:41That's it.
01:09:43On that last one-week cleanup.
01:09:45Yeah.
01:09:46Worth over $1,727,000.
01:09:521,811.56.
01:09:54That's so close, it's ridiculous.
01:09:55Yeah.
01:09:56Yeah.
01:09:57Yeah.
01:09:58Nice job, guys.
01:10:00That last chance paid off.
01:10:03It paid off.
01:10:04It paid off.
01:10:05100%.
01:10:06Rick's final total is worth over $7,246,000.
01:10:15That's awesome.
01:10:16Yeah.
01:10:16Isn't it?
01:10:16Yeah.
01:10:17Right.
01:10:18Like, it looked bad this season for a while, but we're set.
01:10:22We got everything we need, and you guys get the bonus you deserve.
01:10:26So there's a bonus in every one of these jars for you guys.
01:10:29Nice.
01:10:29You guys earned it.
01:10:30Yeah.
01:10:30You guys earned it.
01:10:31You guys earned it.
01:10:32No, you earned it.
01:10:34You worked damn hard for it.
01:10:35There's not a season that we haven't been with you that we have not hit our total now.
01:10:39If there's a team to do it, it's us.
01:10:42Jerry.
01:10:42Jerry.
01:10:44Thanks much.
01:10:46It was not an easy one.
01:10:49It was hard fought, a lot of bull .
01:10:52There's some uncertainty, but for now, we hit 1,800 ounces, and we get our gold bonus.
01:10:58It was a hard season.
01:10:59I did not think we were going to do it, but we did it.
01:11:02I'm ready to keep getting gold, and I can't wait until next year.
01:11:06This was a close one.
01:11:07We hit our goal.
01:11:08We beat it by 11 ounces.
01:11:10That's insanely close.
01:11:12This season was a fight.
01:11:13There's no doubt about that.
01:11:14Right from the get-go, it just had disaster written all over it.
01:11:17This industry, man, it beats it out of you.
01:11:20Tony and Parker offered me a lot of money for this ground.
01:11:22I'm going to leave on my own terms, and if Parker and Tony are still offering when that time comes,
01:11:27well, then there we go.
01:11:28But we get through this year.
01:11:30We can get through any year.
01:11:44Well, what do you think, guys?
01:11:45I think it's getting cold, Tony.
01:11:47Our balls are almost freezing off.
01:11:49Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:11:50Do you like to keep on going?
01:11:52Sure, sure, sure.
01:11:53Anyway, do you think it's time to shove it down here, or what?
01:11:55I think so.
01:11:59It's closing time across the Beats family empire.
01:12:04Last bucket, eh?
01:12:05Yep, last bucket of pay.
01:12:07We're finally done.
01:12:08Yeah, so let's shut her down, and then we got a full cleanup.
01:12:10Yep.
01:12:13And as Tony shuts down...
01:12:17Big red, dead for the season.
01:12:22Parker's crew also called time on the season.
01:12:26We're done.
01:12:30Good job.
01:12:31We did it.
01:12:32That's a hell of a pit to get done.
01:12:34Yeah.
01:12:34When we started it, I didn't think we'd get through it all.
01:12:37I mean, the golden mile was literally a mile.
01:12:40Let's get a cleanup done and see what's in it.
01:12:43Whatever Tony's got.
01:12:54It's time for a final Gold Ways shootout to see who is the Yukon's top dog.
01:13:02Mining mogul, Parker Schnabel, or Klondike kingpin, Tony Beats.
01:13:09Both have four plants to weigh, with Tony just 120 ounces in the lead.
01:13:21Hi, guys.
01:13:23Hi.
01:13:24Hi, Monica.
01:13:27Guys, this is our last Gold Ways.
01:13:30Then Kevin and Faith just pulled up.
01:13:31Perfectly.
01:13:32Good.
01:13:32Then we get the show on the road.
01:13:35Before Tony's gold hits the scales, he wants to see where his young pup has ended up.
01:13:42Kevin owes his dad and landlord 10% royalties on all his gold.
01:13:55I think we're the same in that manner.
01:14:01You're actually admitting you're a little bit the same as your father?
01:14:04Oh, there's definitely parts where we're alike.
01:14:06Anyway, are you going to hit me go?
01:14:07Don't know.
01:14:09That's why we brought our jars here.
01:14:11Fingers crossed.
01:14:13Kevin has three weeks of running to weigh.
01:14:15He needs nearly 800 ounces, over double his best ever gold haul, to hit his 2,000 ounce goal.
01:14:26So, let's see what we've got.
01:14:29Here you go.
01:14:30Shut up.
01:14:3210, 20, 40, 60, 70, 90, 100, 120, 150, 180, 189, 200.
01:14:46220, 230, 50, 260, 270, 300, 330, 350, 376, 376.16.
01:14:58So, how much was your total now?
01:15:00It was 1,591.
01:15:02Are you going to be able to mine next year?
01:15:05I mean, it's a good thing the gold price is this high.
01:15:08The start of next season will be a little stressful.
01:15:12For, uh, yeah, we get to come back next year.
01:15:15Yay!
01:15:16Wait, are you sure you're happy about that?
01:15:18Some more suffering, Faith.
01:15:22Kevin finishes over 400 ounces below target.
01:15:26But, with record gold prices, his 1,591-ounce haul is still worth over $6.3 million.
01:15:38I'm personally happy to hear that you guys are coming back next year.
01:15:42Thank you, thank you.
01:15:43We should probably weigh up some stuff.
01:15:45Now, for the main event.
01:15:48So, Parker had a good season.
01:15:50I think I can beat Parker.
01:15:55Let's find a lot you're putting in.
01:15:57Okay, do it.
01:15:58First up, find a lot's gold from the corner cut,
01:16:02where it's averaging 250 ounces a week.
01:16:07140, 170, 200, 202.18.
01:16:12That's it?
01:16:14Yeah, well, that's okay.
01:16:16Done.
01:16:16On to the next one.
01:16:17Bye.
01:16:18Sluice-a-lot?
01:16:19Okay, Sluice-a-lot, here we go.
01:16:21Sluice-a-lot ran Tony's new early bird cut extension
01:16:25that earlier in the season delivered 300 ounces a week.
01:16:30To 10, to 30, to 40, to 50, to 66.96.
01:16:36That's pretty damn good.
01:16:38I mean, that cut did very good this spring.
01:16:41That early bird did very good on the end.
01:16:44Good start, good finish.
01:16:45That's right.
01:16:46Absolutely.
01:16:47That works.
01:16:47So that was all the Indian River stuff?
01:16:50Tony's Indian River haul brings his total to 10,681 ounces,
01:16:57stretching his lead over Parker by nearly 600 ounces.
01:17:02You should do the hill stuff now?
01:17:03Yes, may as well.
01:17:04As the king prepares his next gold pour.
01:17:09Ten miles away...
01:17:11Yo, yo.
01:17:13The mining mogul is getting ready to fight back.
01:17:17Do you realize, collectively, we have sluiced over 10,000 hours this year?
01:17:24Yeah, we were busy.
01:17:25I was just doing the numbers.
01:17:27We sluiced 2 million yards.
01:17:29Oh, .
01:17:31I'd be surprised if Tony beats us.
01:17:33Yep.
01:17:34Okay, should we weigh some gold?
01:17:36All right, let's do it.
01:17:38This is Roxanne.
01:17:40First up, wash plant Roxanne with the last of the gold from Ken and Stewart's,
01:17:48which last week delivered 134 ounces.
01:17:5260, 80, and 94.90.
01:18:04Not bad, eh?
01:18:17It's not bad.
01:18:34It's not bad, eh?
01:18:35It's not bad.
01:18:36It's not bad.
01:18:36It's not bad.
01:18:37Yeah.
01:18:38Yeah.
01:18:39Parker's total is up to 10,288, clawing Tony's lead down to less than 400 ounces,
01:18:48with the golden mile still to weigh, but the king is now ready to tally up his final two plants.
01:18:57Start with Harold, Michael?
01:18:58Yep.
01:19:00Harold has been running Hester Cut Pay.
01:19:04Last week, it brought in 130 ounces.
01:19:08Let's go.
01:19:0920, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 132.12.
01:19:21Nice to see Mike.
01:19:23It is a nice little hole.
01:19:24All right.
01:19:25So we've got our last one.
01:19:27Are you ready to be jealous?
01:19:29I'm going to be annoyed, aren't I?
01:19:31One.
01:19:32Last up, Mike's Trommel.
01:19:34Two.
01:19:34The monster plant's been running Paradise Hills White Channel Pay, averaging 320 ounces a week.
01:19:42Ready?
01:19:4420, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110.
01:19:54120, 130, 140, 150, 170, 180, 190, 200, 210, 240, 250, 260, 270, 280, 350, 350, 370, 380, 390, 410,
01:20:09417.36.
01:20:13Ah, damn.
01:20:14Two million bucks.
01:20:15Not best for the last little haul.
01:20:17That's amazing.
01:20:18Our biggest season ever.
01:20:21The Beats finish with a colossal season total of 11,231 ounces worth a massive 45 million dollars.
01:20:35That was a great season, guys.
01:20:37Let's wrap her up and let's get on and off.
01:20:39Let's get ready for the next one.
01:20:41All right.
01:20:44That was a good season, my friend.
01:20:45It was a damn good season.
01:20:46Things fell in place.
01:20:48Yep.
01:20:48It's just nice to see at our age to come all this together that way.
01:20:52Yeah.
01:20:52But really, I'm ready to go start next spring.
01:20:55Not me.
01:20:55I want to have a holiday first.
01:20:57I almost guarantee I'll be the first one back in the UConn.
01:21:02Tony walks away with a record-shattering season total, more than 940 ounces ahead of Parker.
01:21:11Now, the young buck needs a monster score from his last two plants.
01:21:17All righty.
01:21:18Let's see how the golden mile finished off.
01:21:20Parker is combining his golden goose and big red wash plants into one final double pour.
01:21:27Together, they ran the end of the golden mile, the richest cut Parker's mine this season.
01:21:33130, 180, 220, 240.
01:21:41Keeps coming, eh?
01:21:43260, 300, 307.95.
01:21:56So where'd we end up?
01:21:59This week, 506.6.
01:22:03Our season total, 10,596.45 ounces.
01:22:12I'm just going to say 10,600.
01:22:14I'm sure there's three extra ounces in that safe somewhere.
01:22:17Yeah.
01:22:17Well done, gentlemen.
01:22:19Well done.
01:22:20That's awesome.
01:22:22Parker finishes 630 ounces behind Tony, the now undisputed king of the Klondike.
01:22:31But his 10,600 ounces is still Parker's biggest ever season haul, worth 42 million dollars.
01:22:42We had a really good season, you know, this last week, I think.
01:22:47Probably could have pulled a little more gold out if we didn't have as many problems as we did.
01:22:51But overall, you know, super solid year.
01:22:56Parker's such a smart miner.
01:22:58As I look back through the years, from a snot-nosed kid at 38 ounces for his first season to
01:23:0410,000 ounces now, it's amazing.
01:23:08Just totally amazing.
01:23:11We'll be back next year and we'll hopefully do even more.
01:23:15And I'm ready to hunt for the next big project.
01:23:19Right?
01:23:19Like, the elephant gun is loaded and we need to find where to go next.
01:23:26See you next time.
01:23:29You
