00:07What's this?
00:08This is our high lowland event.
00:10What are you going to tell me about this?
00:11You should see what happened to me.
00:13I ate one more bad day.
00:16And then my own three.
00:18I want you to mind something for me.
00:20No. Yeah. No. Yes.
00:21Can't get involved with drugs. You can.
00:24And you will.
00:26What's with the wrapping paper?
00:27Present for all the stuff.
00:29Christmas paper. Secret Santa.
00:31It's June. Come early.
00:33Why shut the casino for only one card game?
00:35Something's going on.
00:37Please, because I'm not letting you in.
00:40Larry, what are you doing?
00:40Shut up and count.
00:43I'm at the casino now.
00:45It's happening.
00:46I want you to be in the casino.
00:48Bag it. Bag it.
00:50Show me that.
00:51Where are the others?
00:56Oh, my God.
01:03Oh, my God.
01:10Oh, my God.
01:18Come on.
01:19How dare you to burn?
01:23That's all right, isn't it?
01:47I gave you some more bigger than me.
01:48That's what you said last time.
01:49Yeah, but I gave you some more, didn't I?
01:50Yeah, you did.
01:51You gave me a kid who killed himself in his cell.
01:53I swear, Darren, this sound right.
01:57You're bigger than me.
01:59I've fucking got you.
02:04You're under arrest on suspicion of selling Class A narcotics.
02:08You do not have to say anything...
02:09There's no drugs in there yet!
02:10You do not mention when questioned,
02:13something which you later rely on in call.
02:15Get off me!
02:23Oh, God, behind us.
02:28Oh, fucking hell, Liam.
02:30Oh, my God.
02:30Liam, go!
02:31Go!
02:31Go away!
02:32I'm going to say a multiple, not a fucking Ferrari.
02:34Take the right.
02:35Take the right, please.
02:36Take the right.
02:56You should learn, Liam.
02:58Yeah.
02:58So we can figure something else.
02:59Yeah.
03:00Yeah.
03:01We're only counting money.
03:02It is a casino.
03:03There's nothing wrong with just counting money in a casino, is there?
03:05Oh.
03:06No.
03:07We should lie low, though.
03:08You're right.
03:09Yes, I bet.
03:10Just for a bit.
03:10Like, yeah.
03:11Yeah.
03:23I'm going to shut the door.
03:25You're going to wake me more.
03:26You said shut the door?
03:27Yeah, I said shut it and I'll throw it across the road.
03:29Would you like a couple bits to me, Matthew?
03:31Um, no, no thanks, ma'am.
03:33No, thank you, Mrs. Matty.
03:34I'm just going to go upstairs and grab a few things, like clothes and that.
03:37Oh?
03:38Yeah, I'm just having a bit of a weekend away.
03:39On a Tuesday?
03:40No, he means a little short break.
03:43Lovely.
03:44Together?
03:45No.
03:45God, no.
03:46All right.
03:47Together, yes, but not like that, no.
03:50Bethany, not like that.
03:52He doesn't have a girl back here in ten years and then it's two in a week.
03:59She wasn't his girlfriend.
04:01I'm not his girlfriend.
04:03Oh.
04:04Well, never mind, love.
04:35You have a new voice message.
04:37New messages.
04:39Where the fuck are you, Matty?
04:41I'm having to get rid of those drugs now that everyone knows your busy mate is sniffing around.
04:46I found someone in Keswick in the Lake District.
04:49I'll text you the address and when you get there, just give them the bag.
04:52Nothing else, all right?
04:54And listen hard, lad.
04:56Do not fuck this up, okay?
04:58I mean it.
04:59Bag given gone.
05:00I don't know.
05:27Guys?
05:30What are you doing?
05:31Does it look like I'm doing?
05:33What's this?
05:34Put the money back, Thomas. Do you think I was going to leave him?
05:36I mean, yeah. What's going on?
05:38Just put the money back in the bag, get your seatbelt on and don't open your mouth.
06:06Keswick!
06:07Who?
06:08We should go to Keswick.
06:09Why Keswick?
06:10I know people there. People who can help us.
06:12Who?
06:13People.
06:13Obviously people, Matty. Who?
06:15People we can trust, Leanne. That's who.
06:17Okay, Keswick. After we pick up Nana.
06:21Your Nan?
06:21Yes. The hospital have rang and she's been discharged.
06:28Mum, what's going on?
06:29Just wait for you.
06:30I deserve to know.
06:31Something's happened and I am dealing with it.
06:32But until it's sorted, we have to be out the house.
06:35Is it the bailiffs?
06:37Something like that. Yeah, bailiffs.
06:39I wasn't going to tell you, but we just need to take a day or two to sort it, alright?
06:42Just trust me, will ya?
06:45We can't bring your mum.
06:46Me Nan?
06:46Yeah, we can't bring her either.
06:48She's coming out of hospital and she coming with us.
06:50Leanne, we're being chased by the police.
06:51As soon as they get their acts together and realise we was in that room.
06:53She is coming with us.
06:54Can't you leave her hospital?
06:55She's infirm.
06:57Every day more than she needs to be in there, she's going to get worse.
07:00We're getting her, okay?
07:01We are getting her.
07:02It's non-negotiable.
07:03It's my car.
07:03It's my rules.
07:04Alright.
07:06Right then.
07:07We get Nana, then we get Ruby.
07:09Huh?
07:10She's my daughter, Matty.
07:13Oh, I don't believe this.
07:14We're going to have to hide like a fucking bus if this keeps up.
07:17We're going to have to hide like a fucking bus if this keeps up.
07:43We're going to have to hide like a little bit.
07:45We're going to have to hide.
07:50Come on.
07:54Come on, Matty.
07:56Come on.
07:57Come on.
07:58Come on.
08:08Come on.
08:16Who are you again?
08:21Excuse me.
08:22Who are you again?
08:23He works with me mum, Nanna.
08:26He's a friend of me mum's.
08:28My mum.
08:30Leanne.
08:31Remember?
08:34Oh, more good news.
08:35She's not there.
08:37Where?
08:37There, the school.
08:38She's not there.
08:39Thomas, where's with me?
08:40Why the...
08:40How should I know?
08:41Because she's playing truant.
08:42We should probably move.
08:44Where would she go?
08:44Little and Ruby.
08:46Please, not now, Nanna.
08:47She'll be visiting.
08:48Nanna?
08:49She'll be visiting her mum.
08:50What?
08:51Her mum.
08:51Oh, Sharon.
08:52She'll be visiting her mum for a cuddle.
08:54Sharon's dead, Nanna.
08:55That's where she'll be.
08:56You mark my words.
08:58When things are getting you down, you go get a hug off your mum.
09:03Cemetery.
09:26Ruby.
09:38How long have you been coming here?
09:40And how long have you been forging letters and emails to the school from me?
09:44If I'd find out...
09:45It's a bit bunkingly, it's not a biggie, is it?
09:47It might not be a big deal when your daughter runs away from school, but I love my kids.
09:52Ruby, wait.
09:55Ruby, when did this lion start?
09:59Sammy, it started around the time this family started cracking up.
10:20Are you joining us?
11:26Let's go.
11:28Oh, look up.
11:34What's up?
11:38Is it time?
12:06Where's he near his town?
12:08Scotland.
12:09I'm serious.
12:09So am I.
12:12Do you know how to change it?
12:13I don't even know if I've got a spare.
12:15Oh, for God's sake, Leanne.
12:16Well, you haven't even got a car, so shut up.
12:46How much longer are they going to be?
12:52We're in the middle of nowhere.
12:53It's going to take them forever.
12:56We're going to have a breakdown waiting for the breakdown, people.
13:09I'll walk.
13:11What?
13:16We're in Cumbria.
13:18It'll take months.
13:19And the way you're going, we're going to run out of food.
13:21It's not a desert island, Leigh.
13:23We've just parked in a flipping lay-by.
13:25I can't believe I messed it all up so badly.
13:30It's just a flat tyre.
13:32I'm not talking about the tyre.
13:35I'm talking about everything start to finish.
13:41Oh, well, we genuinely thought it was going to be just a high roller game.
13:48I don't think you should beat yourself up.
13:50I shouldn't have beaten you up.
13:53No, I'm talking about them.
13:56I messed it all up for them.
13:59Life, the lot, just messed it up.
14:03Ah.
14:05I'm all right.
14:08I'm sorry.
14:09But what I said in the cemetery.
14:13No, I really am.
14:15Yeah, okay.
14:20Are you really going to go Tenerife with Gary?
14:25Probably not.
14:26Another thing I messed up.
14:29Why is it always so hard?
14:31It's like we're addicted to being in the shit.
14:35Drama.
14:37Drama.
14:37I'd love a quiet life, me.
14:40No, you wouldn't.
14:41I would.
14:42Honest.
14:43Nice nine-to-five, enough money coming in.
14:45Dream come true, that.
14:47I wasn't getting a nine-to-five in Tenerife.
14:49I was getting a pool, money, sun, sand, good schools.
14:57Fairy tale.
15:01People like me and you don't get fairy tales, Lee.
15:04I did.
15:05Once.
15:15Don't just leave me hanging.
15:17Chris.
15:17My husband.
15:19The one who died?
15:20You never get over it.
15:23No.
15:24You never even get used to it.
15:26You know?
15:27Gary was just another fella.
15:29He pretended to be something that he wasn't.
15:30Promised me something that he couldn't give me.
15:33My life's been full of them since Chris went.
15:36Mistake after mistake.
15:37Gary.
15:40As I'm here.
15:42What?
15:44You're the only man alive who's ever told me the truth.
15:47Bloody hell.
15:51If you're holding me up as a great example of manhood, then things are worse than I thought.
16:00I'm sorry that I let you down with Gary.
16:06I've been a proper mess.
16:08I mean, I am still sort of a mess, but until recently I've not been good.
16:15You seemed okay.
16:16Yeah, and that's the secret right there.
16:21Them poor kids stuck with me.
16:23Bollocks, Leanne.
16:24Now I've let them down, time after time, and now I'm stuck in a lay-by on the run from
16:28the police.
16:29I'll grant you, it's not mum of the year stuff, but...
16:32But they love you.
16:35What makes it worse?
16:36No, mate.
16:38Take it from me.
16:39Not loving you.
16:40That makes it worse.
16:45I've always been rubbish.
16:47As a dad, I have.
16:50I know.
16:52You could at least pretend.
16:55Flipping heck.
16:56I'm trying to match up to you, opening up your heart.
16:58You're just taking the piss.
17:05Listen.
17:07We'll find a way through this.
17:08Me and you.
17:11We'll stick together.
17:13Figure out our story.
17:16Find a way.
17:27You're my best mate, mate.
17:30I'm the only mate.
17:32Yeah, you are, but still.
17:37You're my best mate too.
17:45Right, move your arm now, you're with her.
17:47I'm so sorry.
18:12You're my best mate.
18:15Oh, finally.
18:17That's probably a serial killer.
18:18Shut up.
18:19Move.
18:30Oh, no.
18:32No, no, no, no.
18:34Oh, God.
18:35See nothing.
18:36Move.
18:36What's going on?
18:37Nothing, darling.
18:38It's okay.
18:39Everything's fine.
18:40What's up?
18:40Nothing, Thomas.
19:01Problem?
19:02Flat tire.
19:04I've rang recovery and we're just waiting for them to come.
19:08We'll be sitting here all night.
19:12Have you got a spare?
19:15Erm.
19:19Come on.
19:19Get your coat.
19:20Let's have a look.
19:21Honestly, we'll be okay.
19:23We'll be fine.
19:23Thanks.
19:24Pop your boot.
19:25See if we can find it.
19:41What you doing?
19:43Fuck off.
19:51Everyone should know how I changed a tire.
19:53Yeah, absolutely.
19:54Yep.
19:55Have you got a coat?
19:56You're going to be freezing.
19:57No, sorry.
20:01Pop your boots.
20:02Let's have a look.
20:19Here you go.
20:25Pop the cab first.
20:32I'm sorry about the mess.
20:33Holiday, is it?
20:35Short break.
20:36Then it's off to a flyer.
20:39Only way is up after this, don't you worry.
20:57Christmas?
20:59Um.
21:00Night presents.
21:05You're scouts.
21:07And?
21:16Money out!
21:17Stop!
21:19Come here!
21:21Come on.
21:24Come on.
21:25Come on.
21:26Get off.
21:27I'm doing it.
21:27Ooh.
21:31You decide to run away as well, Scouse?
21:34Please, please.
21:35Look, my kids are in the car.
21:35Yeah, not for long.
21:37Yeah, not for long.
21:37This has nothing to do with me.
21:38I'm sorry, Leah.
21:39You put drugs in my car.
21:41Come on.
21:41You put drugs in the car with me and my kids?
21:43I didn't know they were coming.
21:45I couldn't leave him when my mum was down.
21:46I couldn't.
21:47Get off me.
21:48Mum, what's going on?
21:49You stay with Ruby.
21:50Do you hear me?
21:51No!
21:51You do not have to say anything.
21:53I'm your dick.
21:54Help me out!
21:55Stay with Ruby, okay?
21:56I promise.
21:57I promise.
21:57I promise.
21:58Don't let them separate you.
21:59Let me speak.
22:00It's all right.
22:01It's all right.
22:02It's easier, okay?
22:06It's all right, sir.
22:13It'll be okay.
22:16I've got you, my loves.
22:39Your life seems to be getting worse and worse.
22:43Flat tired, bag of drugs, load of cash.
22:47And now...
22:50The control room are telling me you two are on the run from Liverpool.
22:53So are you going back there tonight?
22:55No, for the area 4-7.
22:57No.
23:23No comments.
23:35No comments.
23:37No comments.
23:47No comment.
23:52No comment.
23:54No comment.
23:55No comment.
24:15No comment.
24:19No comment.
24:54How do you sleep?
24:55Like a baby.
24:57No, you don't.
24:59An innocent boy died in a cell like this because of you.
25:02No, he wasn't innocent.
25:03He didn't do what he was in prison for.
25:05You've sentenced to prison, didn't you?
25:07You made me lock him up.
25:09Yeah, I suppose I did, yeah.
25:13But the thing is, right, when that cell door closed, yeah,
25:19I'll bet you're a pound you ain't thinking about me.
25:23So the question is, how do you sleep?
25:35Yeah.
25:44Yeah.
26:07My name is Detective Sergeant Fen Ning.
26:10The time is 11.45 on the 10th...
26:13My son, Gary Packer, is a drug dealer, a thief, and a violent man, and he needs help.
26:31Are you going to write that down?
26:43No.
26:43No.
26:45No.
26:50No.
26:52No.
26:59No.
27:01No.
27:01No.
27:02Lee!
27:03Don't talk to me.
27:04This is me mate.
27:04I've explained, Lee!
27:06I've explained!
27:07Just hang on.
27:09So you don't understand these conditions?
27:12Yeah.
27:12We'll probably go show you're out.
27:15Wait for me outside and I'll explain.
27:21She'll be waiting a long time.
27:24She got bail, you didn't.
27:26What?
27:27I've never been in trouble before.
27:28You tried to abscond from the officers in Cumbria.
27:30You had a passport on your back and you had £31,273 in a carrier bag, along with two kilos
27:38of cocaine.
27:39You'll be on a man till your trial.
27:41I'll park your house on that bench till I'm ready to deal with it.
27:53Nick.
27:54Don't ask me for help.
27:55I did everything you asked me to do.
27:56Everything.
27:57Everything.
27:58And now I've lost everything.
28:00You've made your bed.
28:17What was you that crossed me up?
28:19I didn't.
28:20I didn't.
28:20I swear.
28:21Oh yeah, lads, yeah.
28:22Chatton's a nigger to door in them five minutes later.
28:24She's banging her in.
28:25I swear down, Gary.
28:31You're going down, lad.
28:33Mr. Packer.
28:34Would you like to join us?
28:39Your bail conditions.
28:40You are required to attend this police station at 1600 hours on Tuesday the 19th,
28:46at which time you may be charged the offences outlined earlier to you.
28:50Failure to attend will result in the issuing of a warrant for your arrest.
28:54Further to that, the following...
28:55She's being disheartened, mate.
28:58The following bail conditions have also been applied.
29:01You are not to contact, directly or indirectly, prosecution witness named Nancy Packer.
29:08Witness?
29:09Or enter one Hullbank Avenue in the city of Liverpool.
29:12I mean...
29:13My mum, Nancy Packer.
29:15Do you understand these conditions?
29:23Sign here, here and here.
29:28I told you it wasn't me.
29:29Shut the fuck up.
29:30I...
29:30...
29:39You're okay...
29:41You're okay.
29:56Okay...
30:04Now, grab your letter, mate.
30:07Nothing from your door, the lad?
30:09No.
30:12Hey.
30:13Close that door, will you?
30:21Yeah.
30:22Try it again.
30:23Maybe she'll answer this time.
30:24Cup of soup?
30:25This one's on me.
30:26Go ahead.
30:33Come on.
30:55Hi, this is Emily.
30:56Leave a message after the phone.
30:57I'll call you back.
31:10Thanks, mate.
31:11Cheers.
31:15Sorry, Mum.
31:23Oh, oh, oh...
31:26Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
31:30Bye.
31:34My life is nothing.
31:38Love you.
31:41My apartment is no...
32:19I'm sorry for your loss.
32:22Oh, thank you.
32:25I know you and your grandmother were very close.
32:28Especially after the death of your mother.
32:30I didn't know you knew.
32:33I also know what it's like to lose someone very close.
32:37I wanted you to know I'm thinking of you.
32:42It's good to see so many people.
32:45I wasn't expecting you.
32:48No, well, you're innocent until proven guilty.
32:54I hope you are innocent.
33:01He's a good lad.
33:03He really is.
33:04Thoughtful.
33:05I'm so proud of him.
33:08I miss you both.
33:10You and Matthew.
33:13And the casino misses you.
33:20I'm sorry about what Gary did.
33:22Oh, no, it's not your fault.
33:24It is.
33:25I think.
33:27I think it is.
33:29My husband wasn't the best.
33:32And I didn't.
33:37It's not your fault.
33:40It's not your fault.
33:41It's been your fault.
33:46It's not your fault.
33:49But it's not your fault.
33:52I'm not sorry.
33:55I've said we can't be it.
33:55I did.
33:57I don't know.
34:00There's a fault.
34:03I don't know.
34:04It's a fault.
34:07It's what I had not been.
34:09It's not your fault.
34:10Yeah, I noticed.
34:11No.
34:14Let's just sit down.
34:19I don't know if you don't. You don't want me to do.
34:22I don't know.
34:24I can't... I mean, I will help you.
34:27I mean, I won't say nothing if you don't. You know what I mean?
34:42Yeah.
34:45Sorry about your nan.
34:48Is she all right, you know, at the end?
34:50She was in her home.
34:54She is.
34:55But she was happy, I think.
34:58Well, that's good.
35:02Your mum was just there?
35:03Yeah, I don't know. I just saw her leaving there, yeah?
35:06What? You're avoiding her because of your bail?
35:08No, I'm avoiding her because she hates me.
35:12I'm not on bail.
35:14Yeah, the fuck all on me.
35:16There was no drugs, it was just cash.
35:18Busies couldn't say that I didn't come for me business.
35:21Bastards notified the tax man, though, so I gotta go kicking off him.
35:26Plus, someone who was there that night
35:30took a little something for themselves, you know what I mean?
35:36It was probably one of them busies, wasn't it?
35:39Right?
35:40Gotta pay for them donuts.
35:48Look, I wanted to speak to you, right?
35:51I didn't want to turn up at your house, because I could look bad for you, you know, down the
35:56line.
35:57But I had to come.
36:01I wanted to know if we were still there.
36:05I think...
36:06Are you serious?
36:07Yeah.
36:09No.
36:13No.
36:13No.
36:14No.
36:15That night, like...
36:17Like, the aggression and that, like, that's not me.
36:21It was pressure.
36:22And I was scared, like...
36:26It's not me.
36:28No, it was you.
36:30I knew it was you.
36:32And I don't want that.
36:34I don't want that.
36:36You...
36:36In my life, all my kids' lives.
36:46I'm sorry.
36:48Right?
36:48I'm sorry for the way it was and the way I spoke to you, right?
36:53So sorry.
36:58I'm in court in two weeks.
37:02What are you for?
37:03Gary, I'm not going.
37:04It's because of your kids.
37:05No, it's...
37:06Gary, this is about me.
37:10It's me.
37:13Mum?
37:15I'm okay.
37:25Okay.
37:29Yeah.
37:32So you know where I am.
37:34Instead of these.
37:41Okay.
38:09I'm sorry I've not been able to speak to you about the case in person, but your solicitor, Mr. Hughes...
38:15Mrs. Hughes.
38:16What did I say?
38:17Mr.
38:18Well, she brought me up to speed on your position and let your plea remain...
38:22Not guilty.
38:24Not guilty.
38:26Despite the prosecution's weight of evidence.
38:29Yes.
38:30And what I said about the reduced sentence?
38:33Yeah.
38:35I can't love my kids thinking I'm a liar.
38:38Changing your plea to guilty will allow a judge to pass a more lenient sentence.
38:42It's killing me.
38:44Prison's killing me.
38:46I can't stay there.
38:47Just not guilty.
38:59I can't lose all theå±€.
39:09It's killing me.
39:13Tell me it's your fault.
39:13I don't want to refuse to be defeated.
39:13Tuck!
39:14Do it!
39:18I have to admit all those silly things!
39:46Oh, yeah.
39:48Do you know what, Marty? I'd rather you didn't talk to me.
39:54All rise.
40:08An amount of cash, namely £31,273, which it has been established, was stolen from their place of employment, the
40:20Envoy Casino.
40:21In addition to the cash, there was two kilos of pure cocaine, with a street value of £200,000.
40:29Both of these items were found in the fiat multiplier, along with Mr Flynn's passport and travel bags for the
40:36entire group.
40:39Therefore, it is the Crown's case that Mr Flynn and Miss Chappell engaged in a county lines operation operating between
40:46Liverpool and Northern Cumbria,
40:48and that as a result of the raid by the police on the casino, they had decided to steal a
40:54large amount of cash to assist in their attempt to evade justice.
41:10Everything is stacked against you, Matthew.
41:13You have to consider changing your plea to guilty.
41:15Otherwise, the jury will have no choice but to convince you both.
41:21I've told my daughter I'm innocent.
41:45I've told my daughter I'm innocent.
41:54Life rebuilding
41:57Don't walk away
42:00What are you listening to?
42:02Joy Division.
42:04And they're related to them?
42:06They're old.
42:07I'm right.
42:14How's it going?
42:16I'm listening to Joy Division.
42:20Bad.
42:22Things are going bad.
42:24Fair enough.
42:28I'm sorry your dad's in prison.
42:31He was nice to me.
42:33And I liked him.
42:34So did I.
42:37I think he's a good person.
42:40And so is my mum.
42:42They had a bag of game and loads of cash in the car.
42:46I know.
42:50But you're still here.
42:52My mum may be home.
42:56Sit down with you together.
43:01Don't walk away
43:03Don't walk away
43:05In silence
43:08Don't walk away
43:18having heard the case both for and against miss chapel and knowing that she does not deny that
43:25drugs and cash were found in her vehicle and that she was fleeing the city of liverpool for
43:32other reasons that are not this court's concern your job is to study the evidence and the evidence
43:39alone it is clear that your decision will not be an easy one in the case of miss chapel her
43:48personal circumstances of being a single parent of two school-aged children whilst tragic and
43:55difficult should not be used as a reason for leniency or an acquittal if you believe her guilty
44:04mr flynn meanwhile presents a different proposition altogether mr flynn readily
44:12accepts that he is a man who succumbs to his addictions drugs drink gambling but you must
44:21try to ignore his failings and try to study the evidence in this case and this case alone
44:29both defendants if found guilty will be facing potentially negative
44:35students

57:09and I'll promise you, I'll promise that I'll run away with you. I'll run away with you.
57:44Baby, in all that tears the air, kiss her face, kiss her neck. Dream of all the different ways I

57:57Why are you so far away, she said. But won't you ever know that I'm in love with you, that
58:07I'm in love with you.
58:08You're just like the dream, just like the truth. I found myself alone, alone, alone, above the raging sea.
58:23The story only, only, only, all alone. Drowned her deep inside of me.
58:30You, you talk to lonely. You, you're lost and lonely. You, you're lost and lonely. You, you're just like heaven.
