00:20group Shiny Hunters. The Daily Pennsylvanian, the student newspaper for the University of
00:25Pennsylvania, says Shiny Hunters posted on Penn's Canvas page last week that any university that
00:31did not wish to have its data released should contact the group before May 12. Duke University
00:36student newspaper The Chronicle as well as student newspapers from UCLA and the University of
00:41Nebraska also reported their institutions were affected. The breach involved usernames, email
00:46addresses, student ID numbers, and private messages between users. After a second incident where
00:52attackers defaced login pages, parent company Instructure says Canvas and other related sites
00:57replaced in maintenance mode.
