00:00Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Pope Leo on Thursday. The two and a half hour meeting
00:04reportedly included discussions of the situation in the Middle East, which we know the pontiff
00:09is not a fan of, as well as what the State Department called topics of mutual interest
00:13in the Western Hemisphere. There was also a gift exchange. Secretary Rubio gave Pope Leo a crystal
00:19paperweight in the shape of a football bearing the State Department seal. That's going to look
00:24mighty nice sitting pretty below Michelangelo's most famous work on the ceiling of the Sistine
00:28Chapel. For his part, Pope Leo gave Rubio a pen made of olive wood and remarked olive being,
00:34of course, the plant of peace. Apparently, the theme of the gift exchange was elevated office
00:39trinkets. Now, today marks one year since the world got its first American pope. The 1.4 billion
00:45Catholics across the globe know him, of course, as Pope Leo. But to many here in the States,
00:50he's just Father Bob. A Chicago priest and friend of the pope marked the anniversary this week with
00:55a gem of a story to remind us all that Pope Leo is just an average guy. After being chosen
01:02as pope,
01:02Father Bob called up his Chicago bank to change his address and phone number.
01:06He gets a lady, says, yes, ma'am, I'm Robert Prevost. I'd like to change. She asks all the
01:11security questions. And then it says, oh, I'm sorry, sir. It says here you have to come in person.
01:16I gave you all the security questions. I'm sorry, sir. Would it matter to you if I told you I'm
01:21Pope
01:22Leo? She hung up on him.
