00:26Hi ATM, I'm Kenny and I'm the owner of Super24.
00:33I think from the inception, what I want to create is a dance competition that relies totally
00:42on the power of everyone rather than just a few strong dancers.
00:46That's why you have the four-sided judging and my dream is to allow dance to be recognised
00:52as a sport.
00:54So that's why you have a fixed number of people, fixed duration and then fixed area
01:00which they have to dance in.
01:01So hopefully, a greater exposure and greater recognition for dancers as athletes.
01:11I have to say Hiraya Dance Company because I've seen them last year competing for the
01:17first time in Singapore and then this year when they stage their piece, I really see a
01:22great growth and development, the whole group of the concept and all.
01:30One of the inspirations is actually the 31-legged race in Japan.
01:35So where you have 30 people tied up together and then runs a 100m race with 31 people.
01:43So when I first saw that concept, it's very interesting because every member, they can't
01:49run too fast or too slow because once you have a mistake, the whole line collapses.
01:53So it's either all or nothing.
01:55So I thought that was beautiful.
01:57Right?
01:58So that's one of the concepts behind Super24.
02:05I think I hope that through Super24, we are able to allow more teams to be seen, allow
02:11more teams to be heard and I will be curious about their stories, about their community and
02:17their tribes, the dance tribes coming together.
02:19I hope that through this platform that we will see more diversity and greater recognition
02:24for the entire scene.
02:29I think in Super24, what we have seen over the years is that although in the beginning
02:34it started off primarily attracting the street dance and hip hop style combinations, after
02:39some time we can see a diversity of styles and range.
02:42At the end of the day, whichever team that can move the hearts of the judges in 90 seconds
02:49deserve to be the Super24.
02:51At the same time, every team is already super when they come together and have that 90 seconds
02:57of experience together, which I hope it will be forming a story for all of their lives.
03:15Hi ATM, this is Coach Angel of A-Team and stars on the floor and today, we are here at
03:21Super24.
03:24Hello ATM, this is MJ Arda from one of the directors of A-Team and owners of Zero Studio and
03:31also
03:31the head choreographers of Stars on the Floor.
03:37I feel actually so excited to perform on Super24 stage once again because back in 2018, A-Team
03:45actually represented the Philippines in Singapore.
03:48And yeah, it's so surreal to be able to step on that stage again.
03:52You know, Super24 stage isn't your usual stage.
03:55It's just the audience's face.
03:56We have four corners and every corner may be judged.
04:00So, it's so exciting but at the same time, it's so exciting.
04:04So, yeah, I'm so happy to be here performing with A-Team again.
04:08Definitely, I'm so, so excited to see the family perform and show the community here how dancing
04:16should be like and just enjoy on stage.
04:19And I'm just really thrilled to be like, we're part, to be part of this whole event for today.
04:29Our piece, our A-Team's piece for today is actually very fun but at the same time, you know,
04:35nandun pa rin yung very high level of difficulty kasi yung choreographies is very power output.
04:41So, I feel, yung main challenge talaga dito is the pagod.
04:45But of course, lagi naman natin magpagdadaanan yung stars on the floor, yung pagod ng mga dance stars natin.
04:52Ganun din naman, through repetition, nawawala rin yan, mag-i-improve din yan.
04:56Kaya, at the end of the day, when we perform it on stage, excitement and happiness na lang talaga yung
05:02mapifeel.
05:02Definitely, I think, Super 24, in its essence, is really original and it's unique.
05:09And it's quite tricky because you really, you kind of have to form four routines
05:14because you're gonna, you have to be able to perform for four sides and four judges.
05:19So, in a sense, it's like forming four routines in one minute and 30 seconds.
05:24So, in that sense, even if we're just guest performers, medyo, nakaka, ano siya, gulo ng utang
05:32at nakaka-challenge siya ng creativity because you have to be equally fair from very beginning until the end.
05:42Ah, from coach ng stars on the floor and ngayon, dancer naman on stage.
05:48It's actually just another day for me because dance is basically, you know, my life already.
05:54And I've been dancing with a team for nine years already.
05:58That's why, parang ano lang siya, another day, another dance day for me.
06:02Hindi naman super big deal na mag-a-drum time from being a coach to being a dancer today
06:08because it's also the same thing.
06:11Pinag-aiba pero, you know, it's still dance.
06:14A mixed feeling siya kasi, of course, it's heading stars on the floor and at the same time being organized
06:21here.
06:22It takes a lot of mental space.
06:23And sometimes nakakapagod siya but seeing everybody and all of them come together in this event
06:31and just, you know, enjoy what they're doing, it's really a gift for the community and the arts.
06:41Message for my team, it's actually for us to have fun.
06:46Yeah, let's kill it on stage when we step there mamaya. I know, nakakakaba siya.
06:50But I know that we're going to kill the performance as always.
06:55And of course, mga aspiring dancers, don't stop dancing.
06:59Just continue training.
07:01Kahit na beginner kayo, first time yung sumayaw, kakabalik yun lang ng dance.
07:06You know, dance will always be there for you.
07:08And don't stop.
07:08Even if nakakarandam kayo ng kind of konting frustration when you start dancing,
07:14tuloy nyo lang yan.
07:15And, you know, progress every step of the way.
07:19Each day, you get to improve.
07:21And enjoy it. Enjoy it.
07:24I'm excited kung anong makuha ng A-team from this event definitely.
07:28And I hope that the Super 24 gets bigger next year.
07:31And I hope that we become an integral part of the groups that are joining here in Super 24
07:38in their journey in dance.
07:39To all the dancers who joined tonight for Super 24,
07:43maraming maraming salamat for taking the challenge to this very unique competition.
07:49I hope that we get to see more of the community next year.
07:52and I hope that the event gets bigger every year.
08:27I-A-team, we are done!
08:37Our experience was great!
08:39Joey Pullen, full of exciting moments!
08:44The number one solution for these difficulties is God.
08:48That's our number one solution.
08:53This dream is not just mine but for our group.
08:58And we are very proud to represent the Philippines.
09:02And we will bring more.
09:03And they should expect more from us.
09:09First of all, to our Dagawanyo people, thank you kayo sa suporta.
09:14Thank you kayo sa pag-show ninyo.
09:17Support samwa all throughout this journey.
09:20And to our supporters throughout the Philippines, we thank you also.
09:25And I hope you will continue supporting us up until Singapore.
09:34Our number one motto or our group's motto is to keep dreaming.
09:40And my advice and my message to aspiring dancers is don't stop dancing.
09:46And love it, apply it to your life.
09:50Do your passion, don't stop.
09:52That's it.
