00:05hi I'm in Churchill in Manitoba in Canada where the temperature is minus 32 feels like minus 40
00:14Churchill lies 1,000 kilometres north of Winnipeg and with no roads in or out the only way to travel
00:20here is three hours by air or two days by train it's hard to get to but there are three
00:25great
00:26reasons to come the Northern Lights the beluga whales and the polar bears but what's it actually
00:32like to live here I was here seasonally so I lived here six months a year for three years and
00:40the
00:40attraction there were many attractions came up here to guide around polar bears and beluga whales
00:50and just fell in love with everything else that Churchill has to offer polar bear season is in
00:57October and November when the small town becomes completely booked out sometimes for years in
01:02advance I've been trained to be a bear guard which means when we have groups of tourists here in town
01:10we suggest that people have a bear guard with them that's somebody to keep the people safe from the
01:16bears and the bears safe from the people ultimately tourists are transported around in purpose-built
01:28tundra buggies and it's a magical experience driving across the frozen water but for my visit it was the
01:35site of the incredible Northern Lights dancing over the ice that made for the experience of a lifetime
