00:11She spoke about her sexuality in an interview with Us Weekly, quote,
00:15Now that I've chosen to share it with the world, I'm comfortable to confidently say
00:19that yes, I am bisexual.
00:21I said it.
00:22This is the first time I got to say it out loud.
00:25While Panettiere never felt it was the right time to share her sexuality publicly, she
00:29quipped, it's better late than never.
00:32Panettiere clarified that she has dated women over the years, noting that she was much more
00:36into women even as a child than men.
00:38She made headlines in 2009 when she spoke about occasions when you kiss your best friend growing
00:43up while discussing a hero storyline in which her character, Claire Bennett, hooked up with
00:48her roommate.
00:49She called the scene very exciting, according to Pride, saying,
00:53When you are young, you experiment and you have fun.
00:55Elsewhere in the interview, Panettiere opened up about her relationship with her hero's
00:59co-star, Milo Ventimiglia, when she was 18 and he was 29.
01:04She said her inability to tell him, I love you, was a major point of contention in their
01:08relationship.
01:09Panettiere explained, I could only say I love you in a casual way, noting that since Ventimiglia
01:14was older, he was more aware of what those words mean.
01:18The pair dated from 2007 to 2009 after meeting on the set of the NBC superhero series.
01:24Before their final split, Ventimiglia briefly broke up with Panettiere and then took her
01:28back, which she believes was because of her heavy emotions.

01:42Ventimiglia has not spoken about dating Panettiere since 2017, when he said he'd never do it
01:47again, but he admitted he wouldn't change a thing about the pair's relationship because
01:51it gave him perspective.
01:53She then moved on with Vladimir Klitschko, whom she shares a daughter, Kaya.
01:58After their on-again, off-again relationship, Panettiere had a volatile, allegedly abusive
02:02romance with Brian Hickerson from 2018 to 2022.
