00:00You've heard of roadside assistance, but how about a moose-side rescue?
00:03A tow truck driver in Canada is going viral after swapping stranded cars for a stranded moose.
00:10I got to a junction a kilometer from my house, and across the junction I see our poor moose stuck
00:17in the ice.
00:17The exhausted animal, later named Rebel, was trapped in a frozen waterway.
00:21I thought, you know what, everyone's going to have to wait. I have to help this guy. I can't stand
00:25to see him suffer.
00:26So he did what any good tow operator would do. Dropped the deck, grabbed a sling, and got to work.
00:32He was so tired and exhausted, he just sat there waiting, you know, patiently.
00:37With a little help from neighbors, Rebel was finally pulled free and hitched the most unusual ride of his life.
00:43I phoned my wife. I said, yeah, honey, bring out some blankets. I got a moose on my truck.
00:49The moose spent days recovering.
00:51He would let me go up and scratch his chin and rub his nose and his ears. He liked that.
00:56And after a long weekend stay, he was gone by that Monday morning.
01:01Hopefully he comes back because he still has a tow bill.
01:04As for the drivers waiting on their tow, turns out they didn't mind the delay getting a good laugh out
01:11of one very unexpected service call.
01:13All right.
01:13Let's see.
