Is the Garmin Venu 4 a worthy upgrade from the Apple Watch? I compare the fitness features, notification handling, battery performance, and overall user experience to help you decide if it's the right switch for you.

00:00Here are three things I love and three things I miss since making the switch from my Apple watch
00:04to the Garmin Venue 4. The main reason I went with the Garmin is that it's one of the few
00:08watches that actually works with Android and iOS. On my iPhone, I still get all my notifications,
00:13including messages, and I can even make and receive calls directly on my wrist. It's not
00:17perfect, but I'll get back to that in just a sec. When it comes to fitness, I'm getting more accurate
00:22GPS workout tracking with training readiness scores, in-depth sleep coach, and stress monitoring,
00:28which, yes, has told me I need to chill a little bit more, and all works together to help me
00:31safely
00:31push myself even harder. The biggest upgrade, though, is that I'm easily getting over 10 days
00:35of battery life on a single charge, while my Apple watch could barely make it through a full day.
00:40I'm charging this maybe three times a month now, which really makes this feel more like a real
00:45watch, but here's what I wish were different. Like I said, the Venue 4 receives notifications just fine,
00:50text, emails, app alerts, but when paired with an iPhone, I can't actually reply from my watch anymore,
00:56and I now have to reach for this thing a lot more. Also, while the watch does still offer media
01:01playback controls for audio that's playing off my phone, it's just not as seamless,
01:05and I have to open up the widget every time I want to change tracks. The watch does support Spotify,
01:10YouTube Music, and Amazon Music, but to no surprise, no Apple Music here. So there are a few quirks,
01:16but overall, I think I'm getting a much better watch experience, but let me know which watch
01:21you're currently rocking, and if you're thinking of making a similar switch.
