00:05So, how Congress is going to support TVK?
00:08See, the TVK has got 108 seats.
00:11So, clearly the people of Tamil Nadu want a formation to be headed by the TVK.
00:16And it's now incumbent upon the TVK to put together a workable majority.
00:21And they have reached out to us formally.
00:23They have reached out to the Congress party formally.
00:25They have written a letter.
00:26And that letter has been taken into cognizance.
00:29And it has been discussed in all appropriate forums of the party.
00:34And unanimously, the Congress party has decided to support a government headed by the TVK.
00:39Because we believe that the people of Tamil Nadu want a change.
00:43But they also want a change which is headed by the TVK.
00:46But it's also a secular formation.
00:47I think the people of Tamil Nadu are very, very clear that they want a secular formation.
00:50So, we are only aiding and assisting the TVK to put together a secular government in secular and stable government
00:56in Tamil Nadu.
00:57How they will get the other numbers is really up to them.
01:00Because as they have reached out to us, I'm sure they are reaching out to other political parties.
01:04And other political parties will decide based on their own calculations and what they will do.
01:10But this is not unusual.
01:11People contest separately in elections.
01:13And post-elections, if the verdict is not absolutely clear with the majority for one political formation,
01:20other political formations which have fought elections against each other come together.
01:24This is very common in Europe.
01:26It happens in Germany.
01:27It happens in the Netherlands.
01:28It happens in Belgium.
01:29And sometimes in countries, it takes months for a working coalition to put together.
01:32And I think the TVK has gone about it in the right earnest in reaching out to political parties now.
01:38Particularly to, I think they are also very clear that they want to put together a secular formation.
01:43And their outreach will bear fruit soon.
01:46And we are extending our support based on their outreach and after due consultations in all appropriate forums internally.
