00:00This is obviously not the start the Mets anticipated.
00:04Why do you think we're here?
00:06And do you think it's extractable if there's such a word?
00:10You guys asked me to appear last week when the Mets were in the middle of everything.
00:15And I just didn't feel like I had any answers for you.
00:19I've given it some thought.
00:20They've really done something that's quite unique.
00:23And that is they've brought in 12 new players.
00:27They've lost a lot of players that are very popular, been around for a long time.
00:31But they brought in 12 kind of new players.
00:33I'm not even including Polanco, who's on the injured list.
00:36They shuffle their bullpen a lot.
00:38But also, and we haven't talked a lot about this, eight new coaches.
00:42If you thought of any business in America, a small business that had 40 employees and replaced 24 in over
00:50one year and hoped that it would just run even better the next season, that's an interesting kind of thought.
00:56And when I think of it that way, it makes me feel like it might be extractable because at some
01:01point, especially lately, we've seen some better played baseball.
01:04But boy, they put themselves in quite a bind.
01:07The great thing is that baseball is the great wet rescuer because if you're 500 on August 1st, you're in
01:12a race.
01:13So you have to play 10 over in the next, what, 85, 90 games?
01:17That's doable.
