00:02so i was looking for um me work from assistant work from at home went on to facebook marketplace
00:09and found perfect premises spoke to the seller he emailed me very professional looking quotations
00:17from a company email address he's got a website he's registered on company's house so i didn't
00:22have any reason to believe that he wasn't a legitimate company so i was 90 sure on the day
00:29the container was due to arrive um and the hours had gone by and it hadn't arrived pretty sure that
00:35it was scammed so i contacted my bank and explained to them what had happened a couple of days later
00:40they read me and said mate we've decided that we can't help you because he should have checked trust
00:44pilot and he shouldn't have bought from a company that's only been trading a few months so i was
00:50left with basically no help from them and so after that i then put in a formal complaint to santan

00:56received a letter back from them closing the complaint saying that they had asked the sellers
01:01bank um for the funds if they were still in the bank account um but santan bear closed the complaint
01:09so i then went to the financial ombudsman um i'm waiting to hear back from them but santan bear as
01:16far as they're concerned won't go to handle with it would believe that it was the one person but he
01:22was
01:22pretending to be a number of different people working for the company when we called so he
01:28would say oh no the person you speak to is out of the office you can't speak to that person
01:33um they've
01:35gone out so it kind of continued like that and it's just left me feeling quite vulnerable in a way
01:41because they've got all my my personal details and they're obviously doing this to a lot of other
01:46people as well so it just makes me quite angry that there's people out there that will do this to
01:50people i'm really skeptical now about buying stuff off anywhere really any anywhere online it's just
01:57yeah it really has shocked me how professional these people can be it's even just things like
02:03the address that they have on the website is not a real address so checking the address and premises
02:10before you do buy anything um just to check that they actually are a real company which is done so
02:16extreme but i've learned from this so yeah it's worth doing
