00:00We talked about earlier. We thank Japan once again for its review of the three
00:09principles of the transfer of defense equipment and technology and its
00:14implementing guidelines. And we were very happy to work with Japan in creating
00:25demonstrable results as soon as possible. Under this new framework for the
00:34transfer of defense equipment, Secretary Todoro and I signed today statement on the
00:40further promotion of defense equipment and technology cooperation. Through this
00:45statement, we agreed to establish a working group bringing together the
00:49policy, operational, and equipment divisions of the defense authorities of
00:54both countries. We also agreed to move forward with discussions aimed at
01:01realizing comprehensive equipment cooperation, including education and
01:06training, maintenance, and sustainment, operational coordination, information
01:12sharing, and the proper management of transferred equipment, with a view to the
01:17early transfer of Abukuma-class destroyers and TC-90 aircraft, as well as other
01:24defense equipment.
