ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ರತ್ನ ದೇವನಾಥ್ ಅವರು, ಉತ್ತರ 24 ಪರಗಣ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಪಾನಿಹಾಟಿ ವಿಧಾನಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೃಣಮೂಲ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ (TMC) ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ತೀರ್ಥಂಕರ್ ಘೋಷ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸುಮಾರು 22,000 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮತಗಳ ಬೃಹತ್ ಅಂತರದಿಂದ ಜಯಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Ratna Debnath, who contested as a BJP candidate, has won the Panihati Assembly Constituency seat in North 24 Parganas by a huge margin of over 22,000 votes, defeating Tirthankar Ghosh of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC).
