00:04we thank you father God as we're about to receive the Word of God tonight Lord I
00:11just ask that you continue to flow Lord your Holy Spirit continues to flow out
00:17flow out now in the name of Jesus and teach us further than even what I'm
00:22speaking tonight Lord I thank you that your healing power is even going first
00:26forth now in the name of Jesus you say in your word that you have sent your word
00:32and that word heals us so as the word is being preached the healing power of God
00:37is he hitting your body he's healing you he's taking pain away from your body now
00:43in Jesus name and we give you all the praise and glory now in Jesus name amen
00:49amen go ahead and be seated as we're gonna go into the teaching for tonight
00:58excited to be here tonight with all of you guys this is kind of a part two on what
01:04pastor Jason actually spoke about last weekend in our 930 service and he talked
01:10about authorities gate and what I'm gonna talk about tonight is your ordinary is his
01:17opportunity that in our daily life we can see supernatural things happen in the
01:25workplace in your college in your school in your parenting you can see
01:32extraordinary things happen because here's the thing we carry power we carry
01:38Jesus on the inside of us and so that means we have his power we have his ability and we
01:46stand on the promises of God and we can see victory in our lives he resides in us so
01:53we carry great faith great wisdom great revelation great power in this world but
02:01why because greater is he that is within you than it is he that is in the world
02:06amen and so we we love this Saturday night crowd this Saturday night crowd I'm gonna
02:12tell you when we minister Saturday nights there's there's a certain draw that you
02:17guys all draw out of us and this is the service that gets kind of wild and crazy and
02:22I'll I'm just gonna let the Holy Spirit go ahead and and draw it out of me tonight and so
02:28we're gonna
02:28start here in Ephesians 1 and verse 17 this is a couple scriptures here but I want to start
02:34here this is our this is our starting ground and and to where we're going tonight and I keep
02:39asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the glorious father may give you the spirit of wisdom
02:47and revelation so that you may know him better I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened
02:56in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you the riches of his glorious inheritance
03:04in the saints in his holy people and his incomparably great power for us who believe
03:12that power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated
03:21him at his right hand in the heavenly realms far above all rule and authority power and dominion
03:28in every name and every name every name that can be named not only in this present age but also
03:39in the
03:39one to come what was Paul saying not only in the time that he was living but also in the
03:43day that we live in
03:46Paul is praying for the believers in this moment and he's not just wanting to encourage us he's praying that
03:54we would
03:54have a revelation that we that he that the Holy Spirit would reveal to you in your everyday ordinary life
04:03the lives that we all live the power that is within you the hope of your calling that you would
04:09know the promises of God that you carry the very word of God with you on the inside of you
04:16and the power that you have the authority that you have on this earth he prays
04:24that the eyes that the eyes of our hearts to be enlightened that the eyes of our hearts to be
04:27enlightened that word enlightened is the Greek word photozo it is where we get the word photograph it means to
04:35be enlightened it means to reveal it means to be illuminated
04:41he's praying that we would be illuminated in our spirit to know what to do how to figure it out
04:49what to say that the Holy Spirit would enlighten us to know the will of God to know the power
04:58of God that illumination is the work of the Holy Spirit it's a how did you know how to do
05:04that oh the Holy Spirit told me to do it it's like it's it's a
05:10how did you figure that out oh the Holy Spirit help me figure it out how did you have the
05:16strength to endure oh the Holy Spirit gave me the strength to endure and can I say this right now
05:24there is an ease to his flow there is an ease to the flow of the Holy Spirit it says
05:29in him we live and move and we have
05:32have our being so you won't struggle to have the strength the strength will already be there
05:38you won't struggle and have fear because he will give you the peace that surpasses all
05:45understanding so you won't struggle and make mistakes because wisdom will be on your tongue
05:52wisdom will be in your heart and you will live your life by the holy spirit and what he prompts
05:59you to do rather than even what the world or the doctors or the teachers or whoever wants to speak
06:07to you holy spirit's going to speak even more clearer on the inside of you and you're going to
06:12go that's nice but i'm going to go the holy spirit's way okay he prays that the eyes of your
06:19heart to be enlightened so that you know that you don't just have a knowledge but you have an
06:24enlightening on the inside of you you have a revelation you carry power around with you
06:34the question is tonight do you know what you have
06:40are your spiritual eyes illuminated are they enlightened to it and it's really really simple
06:48if you sit here tonight you're like i really don't know i i would have to say pastor kelly i
06:53kind of
06:53struggle this is all you do you say holy spirit help me oh gosh you all you have to do
07:01is invite
07:02him in he just wants an invitation he just wants you to say holy spirit help me and he will
07:10don't make
07:12a mistake don't make the mistake and believe the lie that miracles only happen for the pastors for
07:19the evangelists for the possible for the prophets if you believe that lie that's a lie let me tell you
07:28don't believe it you carry power he has called you to be more than an overcomer he has said greater
07:38is he
07:39that is in you okay let's go back to this scripture ephesians 1 18 he says i pray the eyes
07:46of
07:47your heart be enlightened he doesn't say i pray the eyes of the heart of your pastor be enlightened
07:53does he he says your heart in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you
08:02he's talking about you jesus said this in matthew 20 26 and 28 and this is in the passion translation
08:12the greatest one among you will live as one who is called to serve others
08:18because the greatest honor and authority is reserved for the one with the heart of a servant
08:26jesus says the greatest so here we go we've got the power of jesus on the inside of us we're
08:33praying
08:33that the eyes of our heart be enlightened that we know things that we know the hope that we know
08:38the
08:38the riches of the glorious inheritance of the saints that resides on the inside of us and the
08:43power of god that is inside of us why so we can be an impact in this world and so
08:50jesus is now telling
08:52us this is how you can have the greatest impact the greatest impact that you can make in your life
08:57is to
08:57be a servant he says here the greatest honor and watch this authority is reserved for the one who has
09:07the
09:07heart of a servant it's not for the one that wants to climb the ladder see the world's gonna say
09:14you
09:14want to climb the ladder jesus says serve others and so tonight i want to talk about the everyday people
09:21there's everyday people in the bible and they did extraordinary things and not we don't often talk
09:28about these stories that the holy spirit led me to in the past week they had a huge impact and
09:35so i want
09:35to share with you and show you what an impact you can have on your daily life stephan in acts
09:43in chapter
09:44six there's this man named stephan now the the early church at that time um the disciples they were all
09:55um starting the church okay so the holy spirit had come and now they're beginning to minister and they're
10:01beginning to build the church and so it's the 12 disciples but then there's also a multitude of
10:08disciples that are under the 12 disciples and there's a matter that arose that needed to be taken care of
10:16and the matter was was the widows weren't receiving their daily portion and so the 12 disciples they got
10:24together and they decided that they would choose seven men among the multitude of disciples to take
10:32care of this matter and i want you to see this they got together and they said therefore brethren seek
10:37out from among you seven men of good reputation full of the holy spirit and wisdom whom we may appoint
10:44over
10:44this business and so they appointed seven men and one of the men was stephan and when they got
10:52these seven they took them and they brought them together these seven men that's how i picture it in
10:58my mind these seven men are in front of them and now all the 12 disciples are not going to
11:02pray for
11:03these men i want to point this out because this is this is a great thing to point out to
11:07you
11:08they sat before the apostles and when they had prayed they laid hands on them they laid their hands
11:18on them and i think it's interesting that the bible brings us for this forth for us to pay attention
11:24to
11:25why do we need to know that hands were laid on them okay two things the impartation of grace
11:35and authority happened here when they laid their hands upon the these disciples they were imparting
11:44to them a spiritual authority a blessing and a grace for what they're about to do okay i'm talking about
11:54submission here because the second thing it's a picture of submission what did jesus say the greatest
12:02honor and authority is reserved for the one with the servant heart okay so this is a picture
12:11of not only receiving the impartation of the grace and the ability and the spiritual authority it's a
12:18picture of submission they would be operating under the authority of the 12 disciples do we all understand
12:25that you all see that right now why am i telling you this because submission of unlocks power and authority
12:34for god to move
12:38how do i know this
12:41acts 6 and verse 8 stephan
12:45full of faith and power did great wonders and signs among the people
12:54now this hits me so hard because we all realize right now right that he's just serving tables
13:00he's a soup kitchen that's what he's doing right now he's serving the widow he's making sure that the
13:05widows get food and it says put it back up there again elaine if you don't mind that stephan
13:13was full of faith okay he's serving tables guys he's doing ordinary things and power
13:21and did great wonders and signs among the people do we understand what this means this means he was
13:29serving up hot soup and he was healing the sick this means that he was serving someone mashed potatoes and
13:37doing miracles right
13:41this means
13:44that he was dishing out appetizers and he was casting out demons he did signs and wonders
13:52he was preaching the word of god
13:56what it tells us is that he was not limited to his title or let me say this better he
14:02lack of title he
14:04didn't have a title he used his role as a launch pad for the supernatural to happen
14:11and we can do the same thing he healed he preached he performed miracles all while serving
14:18in what we would call a behind the scenes job that's what he did then and the key i want
14:25to bring out here
14:26is your ordinary is the place for his opportunity to flow
14:33your ordinary is his opportunity to flow in your mind impact in this world does not require a microphone
14:41it doesn't require a platform your ordinary your ordinary your job what you do every day in your life
14:50there's an opportunity to have impact in this world in miracles yes inside the wonders yes in healing yes
14:57i'm saying i'm giving you the permission right now honestly to go out and take over the world for jesus
15:08because you're not just a dad you're not just a mom you're not just a teacher you're not just a
15:14a businessman you are a child of god and you the power of god resides on the inside of you
15:22and you can flow in the supernatural you can use whatever you do as a launch pad
15:27for the supernatural and this is exactly what stephan did he took what god gave him
15:36and made that the platform for miracles to happen because you know what stephan could have done
15:41he could have he when when this all went down when he was given the job to be the soup
15:47kitchen he
15:47could have said peace out i don't do this this is not this this is what i'm being called to
15:54do he
15:54didn't do that he submitted and what happened that authority the power of god went through because he
16:02submitted himself to the 12 disciples right my brother kyle um he's my youngest brother
16:12he's 10 years younger than me and when he was 12 years old he was at a birthday party his
16:20friend john
16:22one of his good buddies was having a birthday party it was at john's house and he and a bunch
16:29of other
16:30young boys 12 years old were all at john's house having this birthday party he said they stayed up all
16:35night playing video games i woke up the next morning and they had breakfast and all the other
16:41boys went home and now it was just kyle and john and they decided well let's play some more video
16:47games
16:47so they sat down to play more video games when all of a sudden john began to have a seizure
16:54and kyle jumped up he's 12 years old he jumps up and he goes in the name of jesus be
16:59healed in the name of jesus
17:00and he's calling the mom and he's praying over this little boy and the mom comes in is like oh
17:05my
17:05gosh and she runs out and she goes and calls the paramedics when she comes back the seizure had
17:11ceased and she stood there and looked at kyle and goes how did you know to pray and he said
17:20i go to church with my mom and dad every week it was there was no microphone there was no
17:28platform
17:30he was just a little 12 year year old boy but what happened the ordinary circumstance he carried the
17:41power of god on the inside of him and he moved in it 12 years old
17:51this is why and i just want to do a little side note here this is why
17:55this this story right here is why you bring your kids to church
18:00this is the equipping place faith comes by well how by hearing and hearing by the word of god
18:07when your kids go to children's ministry and when they go to youth ministry they are hearing the word
18:13of god and faith is coming alive on the inside of them and then they get to see oh mom
18:18and dad
18:18they're having miracles happen in their life they're having breakthroughs happen in their life how is
18:23this happening well they hear the word and they're growing in faith and then they go and they're out in
18:28the world and they're out in school and they're doing their thing and situations arise
18:34and no one else is going to know what to do but they know what to do why because they've
18:40been sitting
18:40under the word they're full of power they're full of the holy spirit see today churches equip people
18:47for life but jason and i your pastors we want to equip you for ministry we want you to be
18:54full of power
18:55and of the holy spirit ephesians 4 11 says this and he himself gave some to be apostles
19:02some prophets some evangelists and some pastors and some teachers watch for the equipping of the saints
19:10for the work of ministry that's what we're doing right now we're preparing you for when you go out
19:20these church walls that you'll know by how by that enlightenment that come how did kyle know how to do
19:28that the holy spirit went into action he didn't have to think he just went into action right
19:34ephesians 2 10 says this for you are his workmanship created in christ jesus for good works which god
19:43prepared beforehand that what we should walk in them your ordinary is god's opportunity to flow in your life
19:53now let's talk about andrew i don't think i've ever heard anyone talk about andrew before
20:01because not everyone is going to have the boldness and the tenacity
20:07like stephan to be just moving like people are coming in to get their food and he's just performing
20:13miracles some people operate in quieter ways but don't misunderstand or don't confuse quiet with
20:23ineffective there's all different ways that god wants to work so let's talk about andrew andrew was
20:31one of the 12 disciples
20:35he wasn't flashy he didn't write any of the books of the bible but he was peter's brother okay
20:44but what he did do is he brought people to jesus did you know that did you know that it
20:53was andrew
20:54that introduced peter to jesus watch this andrew simon peter's brother was one of the two had who
21:03heard what john had said and had followed jesus the first thing andrew did was to find his brother
21:11simon and tell him we have found the messiah that is the christ and he brought him to jesus
21:17jesus that's right it was peter had it not been for peter would peter have met jesus
21:30maybe but i think it's interesting the bible points this out for us to see andrew brought his brother
21:37peter to jesus you know that it was peter that went to preach at pentecost he led the early church
21:45and he
21:46wrote part of the new testament but it was andrew who made that connection he was a bringer and there's
21:54something about bringers p when you see and if you were that type of person that decides you know what
22:01i'm gonna bring someone to jesus i'm gonna bring someone to church bringers you have courage it's like
22:09they know the truth that will set them free or they know the truth that has set them free and
22:15they're
22:15like you need what i've been hearing and they bring them to church amen when oral roberts was 17 years
22:24old
22:25he was deathly ill with tuberculosis and he was he was bedridden and laying in there that bed day after
22:34day he was dying and not only did he have tuberculosis but he had a severe stuttering problem
22:42and he laid there and he was he was depressed and he was hopeless but you know who wasn't hopeless
22:47you know someone that had hope was his brother elmer elmer heard of a healing evangelist that was coming
22:58into town not close though 150 miles away he knew that his brother needed to get to that healing service
23:06and so he picked up his brother him and his sister they loaded him into the car they drove 150
23:13miles
23:14to this healing service they got to the minister the minister prayed for oral he was instantly healed
23:24not only of tuberculosis but he was also healed of his stuttering problem had his brother had his
23:32brother not brought him to that evangelist let me tell you something oral roberts went on to have one of
23:41the
23:41most influential healing ministries in our modern day history he touched the world he has a university hello
23:53but had his brother not took him not brought him to that meeting well he would have died
24:02are you a bringer i want to encourage you today we can have the band come up right now because
24:08i know i'm
24:08going late we can have the band come up that would be great um are you a bringer are you
24:18one that when you
24:20read a great book a great faith book you're like i know exactly who i want to give this to
24:26there's an anointing for people who bring people to services who bring people into the church
24:36elmer was a bringer and you know what bringers can change the world here's another story about
24:43andrew that i want to tell you about when jesus fed the 5 000 he's in that situation there's 5
24:51000
24:52people and he says to the disciples he says how are you going to feed them and it was philip
25:00in john 6
25:01that answered it would take more than a half a year's wages to buy enough bread for each one to
25:07have a bite
25:09another one of his disciples watch this andrew simon peter's brother spoke up and he said here's
25:16a boy with five small barley loaves and two fish it's andrew again that quiet connector
25:26who notices the boy with the five loaves and two fish andrew doesn't do the miracle
25:34but he connects the need with the source
25:40can we be bringers can we invite someone to church and let the church do the work that the church
25:49does
25:51you know i i love that you can hear that truth you can come and hear the word of god
25:56and and we sit
25:58here and i've been in this situation before that i'm like oh you know who needs to hear this
26:05it can be even different than that the work of the lord doesn't have to be flashy
26:11it can be you wake up and your co-worker comes to mind and you stop everything in that moment
26:18and you
26:18begin to pray for them or you're at work and you're with that work friend and you and you're like
26:28you know what you're going to do this weekend and they're like what am i going to do this weekend
26:32you're going to come to church with me
26:36it's bold bringers have to be bold but it doesn't have to be flashy you don't have to do all
26:42the work
26:42all you do is make the connection
26:47amen i'm going to pray for you tonight lord i just praise you and thank you
26:52lord i thank you that you are doing a work tonight
26:55lord i thank you and praise you that you have called us that lord that you are stirring up that
27:03gift
27:04in us now in the name of jesus
27:08lord tonight if there's someone here tonight and you say i've been praying for a friend to come
27:15i just release that now that you're able to do that with ease now in jesus name
27:22thank you lord thank you jesus i just want to take the opportunity right now if if you've come in

27:29tonight and you've never received jesus as your lord and savior we're going to do a prayer together
27:34and i'd like to ask everyone to just kind of bow their heads and close close their eyes as we

38:11Are you doing anything Wednesday night? No, not at all. Well, I have the perfect thing for you
38:16because on Wednesday, August 13th, Family Night is starting back up here at Living Word Mesa,
38:22where we will gather together in the sanctuary to worship as a family, but then break up into the
38:27men's ministry as well as the women's ministry to learn more about the Word of God and to fellowship
38:31with one another. It is a great way to grow closer to God as well as strengthen our relationships.
38:37and friendships together. It's official, church family. Date night is here to stay,
38:42which means every Saturday after service from 7 to 9, parents, you get the time to yourselves
38:47while we will watch your kids, teach them the Word of God, and make sure that they have a blast

38:59I don't know, but I sure would like to. I think we'll find out at Living Word Bible Church's
39:07Trainable Parent Conference happening... September 10th and 11th? Yes, where we're going to get
39:12amazing wisdom from both Pastor Scott and Holly as well as Pastors Jason and Kelly.
