00:01After three straight weeks of rollback, pump prices are set to increase again by Tuesday, May 5.
00:06The House Justice Committee approves its report on the Articles of Impeachment against Sara Duterte.

00:32Oil prices are expected to rise again starting Tuesday, May 5, after three straight weeks of diesel price rollbacks.
00:39The Energy Department announces diesel prices will increase by almost 3 pesos per liter and 2 pesos and 21 centavos
00:46for gasoline.
00:47Meanwhile, kerosene will drop by at least 3 pesos and 53 centavos per liter.
00:51Diesel is expected to settle between nearly 80 pesos to 102 pesos and 16 centavos per liter,
00:57gasoline at at least 74 pesos to 102 pesos and 20 centavos per liter,
01:02and kerosene at almost 125 pesos to 146 pesos and 46 centavos in Metro Manila from May 5 to 11.

01:15This as Iran tightens its grip on the crucial waterway over two months into the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war on

01:22Trump says the operation is a humanitarian gesture for neutral countries with ships locked up in the Strait.

01:29We have told these countries that we will guide their ships safely out of these restricted waterways
01:33so that they can freely and ably get on with their business.
01:38The House Justice Committee approves the report containing the resolution stipulating the articles of impeachment
01:43against Vice President Sara Duterte.
01:46A total of 55 lawmakers vote in favor of the report with no objections.
01:51The report consists of four articles of impeachment,
01:53a consolidation of the alleged offenses hurled at the Vice President in the two impeachment complaints.
01:58The report asks the impeachment court to declare Duterte guilty of all the offenses
02:03and to disqualify her from public office.
02:05It also requests that she be declared liable for prosecution, trial, and punishment.
02:10Monday's proceedings are considered a matter of formality
02:13as the panel already voted last week in favor of motions finding probable cause
02:17in the two separate complaints against Duterte.
02:20House Committee Chairperson Jinky Luistro says a plenary vote may be held as early as May 11,
02:25giving lawmakers a week to study the draft impeachment articles.
02:29The Supreme Court voids a Duterte-ira Malacanang order that dismissed Arthur Carandang from his post as the overall deputy
02:36ombudsman.
02:37The court's 3rd division also voids the June 2019 ombudsman decision to implement the order and declare the post vacant.
02:44The SC ruled Carandang is entitled to receive the salaries corresponding to the period of his preventive suspension and dismissal.
02:51He is also entitled to his retirement benefits until his terms end.
02:55Carandang was supposed to retire in 2020.
02:58Duterte's office fired Carandang through an order on July 30, 2018.
03:02He allegedly disclosed unauthenticated documents on the bank transactions of Duterte and his family totaling 1 billion pesos,
03:09a charge Carandang denied.
03:12Thousands of residents in Albay are affected by the recent Mayon volcano ashfall Saturday, May 2.
03:18The impact of the ashfall reaches surrounding municipalities as far as San Pascual in Masbate.
03:23Officials say the number of evacuated residents is expected to increase.
03:27Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office head Oscar Robert Cristobal says
03:32this is the highest recorded seismic activity by the volcano since January.
03:35He adds,
03:37A lava dome collapse occurred, resulting in an ash cloud,
03:39and it was accompanied by lava fountaining with lava flowing from Mayon's crater.
03:44The office also says the province will likely expand the declared danger zone after the recent eruption.
03:49Local government units immediately launched relief and recovery operations to aid the victims of the ashfall,
03:55such as distributing face masks and clearing ash from covered establishments and roads.
04:01Taiwan President Lai Ching-te visits Eswatini, a small country in southern Africa, to the dismay of Beijing.
04:07Lai tells Eswatini's king Taiwan has a right to engage with the world and no country can stop that.
04:13Lai's office calls the trip a state visit.
04:15Beijing tried to stop the visit, condemning Lai as a, quote,
04:19Last month, Taiwan said China had forced three Indian Ocean countries to pull overflight permission for Lai's aircraft to travel
04:26to Eswatini for the 40th anniversary of its king.
04:29Lai arrived on board an Eswatini government aircraft.
04:32No announcement of the trip was made by Taiwan or Eswatini beforehand.
04:36China views democratically governed Taiwan as part of its territory with no right to state-to-state ties
04:41and demands other countries stop any engagements with the island.
04:45But Taiwan says Lai did not need Beijing's permission to go anywhere.
04:49Eswatini is one of only 12 countries with formal ties with Taipei.
