00:09Former Senator Sonny Trillanes says the Duterte family received over P100 million in payouts from alleged drug lord Sami Uy.
00:17U.S. President Donald Trump unilaterally extends the ceasefire with Iran to continue peace talks.
00:23The provincial government says Metro Cebu's air quality has improved, placing conditions in the fair or moderate range.
00:29And increased sightings of Finlayson squirrels in Metro Manila spark concern among residents and the Environment Department.
00:44The International Criminal Court Appeals Chamber denies the appeal of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and upholds its jurisdiction over
00:52his case.
00:52This removes the last roadblock to Duterte's trial for three counts of widespread murder in connection with alleged crimes against
00:59humanity.
01:00A separate set of judges had rejected these same arguments in 2025.
01:04Jurisdiction was Duterte's biggest defense and had he won in this round, it would have stopped the case altogether and
01:09he may have been able to go home.
01:11At the University of the Philippines in Quezon City, families of drug war victims listening to the hearing broke into
01:16applause upon hearing the decision.
01:18Duterte's confirmation of charges hearing was conducted on February 27 and the pretrial chamber has 60 calendar days to decide
01:25whether or not to confirm the charges and proceed to trial.
01:28The 60th day falls on April 28 which means a decision is expected anytime.
01:35Former Senator Sonny Trillanes claims Vice President Sara Duterte and her family received over P100 million in payouts from alleged
01:42drug lord Sami Uy.
01:43The House Justice Committee summoned Trillanes to the impeachment hearing against the Vice President to serve as resource person on
01:49allegations of her unexplained wealth.
01:50He breaks down the P181.6 million in payments that Uy supposedly made via cashiers and personal checks to various
01:58members of the Duterte family from 2011 to 2013.
02:01VP Sara Duterte allegedly received nearly P23 million across three transactions.
02:07Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, almost P52 million across five transactions.
02:12Davao City First District Representative Paulo Duterte, P38.81 million across four transactions.
02:19Hanilet Avancenia and Katie Duterte, P53.28 million across five transactions.
02:25And former President Rodrigo Duterte, P15.66 million across three transactions.
02:31Meantime, the Anti-Money Laundering Council says a total of nearly P7 billion in suspicious transactions passed through the bank
02:38accounts of Sara Duterte and her husband Man Scarpio from 2006 to 2025.
02:43This far exceeds what she declared in her statements of assets, liabilities, and net worth .
02:50United States President Donald Trump extends the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely to allow peace talks to continue.
02:56But his announcement appears to be unilateral and it is not clear if Iran agrees.
03:00Trump also agrees to Pakistan's request to pause U.S. attacks on Iran to allow time for a unified peace
03:06proposal.
03:07But even as he announces the extension, Trump says he would continue the U.S. Navy's blockade of Iran's trade
03:12by sea.
03:13There was no immediate response from Iran's top leaders, but Tasnim news agency said Iran had not requested the ceasefire
03:20extension and warned it could break the U.S. blockade by force.
03:23An advisor to Iran's parliamentary speaker also downplaced Trump's announcement, saying the extension is certainly a ploy to buy time
03:30for a surprise strike.
03:33Cebu Province announces on April 22 via its Facebook page, the air quality index of the metropolitan area has improved
03:40to 98, placing conditions in the fair or moderate range.
03:44This is a sharp change from its very unhealthy peak of 199 on April 19.
03:49The Department of Environment and Natural Resources said Tuesday, April 21, weak winds mixed with the rising heat caused air
03:56pollutants to linger in the haze.
03:57The DNR's Environment Management Bureau in Central Visayas explained, the haze occurs more often during the dry season.
04:04The bureau's chief, Ranzel Diocno, noted the lack of wind caused the pollutants to remain in the air.
04:10The bureau added vehicle emissions and construction activities mainly caused the air pollution.
04:15The haze blanketed cities like Cebu, Mandawe, Lapu-Lapu, and nearby towns.
04:21Increased sightings of finlays on squirrels around Metro Manila sparked concern among residents and the Environment Department.
04:27The DNR released an advisory on April 16, reminding the public that the squirrels are an invasive species that may
04:33threaten local ecosystems and that its presence is not promoted.
04:38The finlays on squirrel is not native to the Philippines but to other parts of Southeast Asia.
04:42The rodents have been spotted in various cities like Quezon City, Makati, Taguig, and Muntinlupa.
04:47The Biodiversity Management Bureau also reports sightings in nearby provinces Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, and Nueva Ecija.
04:55Finlays on squirrels are known to spread rapidly and often compete with local wildlife for food and territory.
05:00Since 2022, the DNR-BMB has tried to control and eradicate the species from the country.
05:05The Bureau's former director, Teresa Lim, also suspects that the invasive squirrels were illegally brought into the country as pets.
