SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS – La tranquilidad del sector El Capacito se vio interrumpida la madrugada de este sábado, cuando desconocidos emprendieron a tiros contra la residencia de Joan Núñez, mejor conocido como "Mangú", un destacado entrenador de baloncesto y figura comunitaria en la zona.

De acuerdo con las declaraciones del propio Núñez, el ataque ocurrió aproximadamente entre las 3:20 y 3:25 de la madrugada. Núñez y su familia se encontraban descansando cuando fueron despertados por el sonido de múltiples detonaciones de armas de fuego.

Al amanecer, se pudieron constatar al menos siete impactos de bala que afectaron la puerta principal, las paredes exteriores y el techo de la vivienda.

Afortunadamente, no se reportaron personas lesionadas, a pesar de que los proyectiles penetraron en áreas cercanas a donde dormían los residentes, incluyendo la habitación de la madre del entrenador, situada en la parte frontal de la casa.

Joan Núñez expresó su desconcierto ante lo sucedido, enfatizando que ha vivido en el sector por más de 20 años y nunca ha tenido conflictos con vecinos ni problemas con la justicia.

"Uno está en su casa sanamente durmiendo, tranquilo... tenemos más de 20 años viviendo aquí y gracias a Dios ni con los vecinos hemos tenido problemas. Soy una persona conocida en todo Macorís como entrenador y no tengo enemigos," manifestó Núñez visiblemente afectado por la situación.

El afectado hizo un llamado directo a la Policía Nacional y a las autoridades competentes para que se inicie una investigación exhaustiva que permita esclarecer los motivos del ataque e identificar a los responsables. Núñez sugirió que el incidente podría haber sido el resultado de una confusión o un altercado ajeno que terminó frente a su propiedad, aunque no descarta ninguna posibilidad hasta que las autoridades den con la verdad.

El Capacito es conocido por ser un barrio de gente trabajadora, y la figura de "Mangú" es sumamente respetada por su labor en la formación de jóvenes deportistas. Este hecho ha generado una ola de indignación y preocupación entre los residentes, quienes exigen mayor vigilancia policial ante el incremento de la inseguridad en la zona.
