00:00Hello, evening.
00:01Good night.
00:11Ready when you are?
00:18Probably, yeah.
00:20I feel like I'm pretty honest on our performance levels
00:23and what we could and should have had maybe,
00:26but it's the levels, obviously, you get what you get.
00:30But yeah, I feel like it's been coming,
00:32but equally you need to stay on top of the performance levels.
00:35I think the big one today was just finding a way to win.
00:39I think that was really important.
00:41First half was a little bit helter-skelter at times.
00:43I felt like the opportunities they created,
00:45some of which were our own doing,
00:48and that's on the second half we managed the game better.
00:52So overall, yeah, it's a good day for us.
01:18What did you do to get there to manage the game better in the second half?
01:22Was there a specific change at half the time?
01:25I just felt there was...
01:26I thought we needed to have a little bit more of an edge in certain situations.
01:33Definitely defending set pieces,
01:36controlling transitions a little bit better.
01:38The positioning of one or two players that we just slightly tweaked
01:42to curtail some of their strengths,
01:45especially when we went two goals up.
01:48And obviously we changed them when they went through a back tree
01:51and chucked more attacking players on, and Bowen went more central.
01:54So yeah, I feel like there was a few tweaks on our part as well,
02:00on my part, but then equally and probably more importantly,
02:03just the evolution of the group and the maturity of the group
02:06and the way they're going.
02:07Chris Adjard coming on as well, senior player.
02:10There was a few parts to it, I suppose.
02:12With Josh on at the end, which was obviously a really nice moment,
02:15the fans were nagging you to do it.
02:17Did you take that on board?
02:19To be honest, I didn't have any idea they were nagging me.
02:22Yeah, I really didn't.
02:23I was probably too zoned into the game.
02:25But I think it was always at the back of my mind,
02:28could we get him onto the pitch?
02:31He's obviously making his way back,
02:32and he's been on a hell of a journey.
02:36So it was nice to be able to get him into the game.
02:40It's obviously a very, very special moment for him,
02:43an emotional moment for him.
02:44I got quite emotional looking at him coming into the pitch
02:47and then with the fans afterwards
02:50and obviously in the dressing room after the game again,
02:53really emotional, special moment for Josh.
02:57But everyone attached to it as well.
03:00He's a very special human being.
03:02Do you think it can have an impact still for Brentford going forward?
03:06If Josh was one of my favourite players at Brentford
03:09when I was looking from afar in years gone by,
03:12I really liked his company over the last couple of years,
03:15behind the scenes.
03:17He's a very intelligent young man.
03:19His ability isn't in doubt, we just need to keep Josh fit.
03:22I think the rest will be absolutely fine.
03:28Nuno mentioned that he will watch all the games,
03:31and he'll watch Tottenham with everything that impacts them.
03:34I'm just wondering if you're the same,
03:36and were you specifically watching the Forest for the game
03:39cheering for Villa,
03:40knowing that may open up another place into Europe?
03:45No, not really.
03:49I'll have a day off tomorrow,
03:52I'll walk my dog,
03:53I'll spend some time with my family,
03:55and if I feel there's a game or not,
03:59if we move on to Man City,
04:00who's our next opponent,
04:01obviously then we'll start looking at that.
04:03But no, I won't be transfixed onto that.
04:06I can't control anything that other teams do.
04:09So no, I wouldn't be that way inclined.
04:12I'll probably keep an eye on the result.
04:24I'm running out of superlatives to be honest,
04:26he's just been immense.
04:28The way he attacks the game in every facet,
04:31he's the one who triggers our press,
04:33the intensity in which he goes,
04:35the fight in which he shows immense and bold boxes.
04:40He gets the headlines for the goals obviously,
04:42but there's a lot more to his game as everybody knows.
04:48And it's sort of nice, you had five draws in a row,
04:51so this is kind of people who might have been sort of thinking
04:55that you were going to slide out of contention,
04:57but again you've maybe proved one or two people wrong
05:00with bouncing back up to sixth.
05:06Yeah, we've tried in every one of those games to win.
05:11It was different circumstances in one or two
05:13where Point was probably a good result.
05:15Leeds away springs to mind because of what we had to deal with
05:19going into the game.
05:20A few bits and bobs going on behind the scenes
05:22were players, but we've approached every game to try and win it.
05:27And the reality is we haven't been able to do that clearly,
05:29but today it was really important that we just found the way.
05:33Did you feel that two West Ham strikers
05:37were maybe lucky not to be sent off?
05:40Yeah, there's been a few comments in and around the dressing room,
05:43around some tackles and some bits and bobs that were going on,
05:47but I purposely haven't looked at it back.
05:49I think my biggest thing today is the fact that we've won the game.
05:52I'm so happy we've been able to do that and deserve to do that.
05:55And Josh has been the biggest bonus for me today.
06:00So, yeah, there was a little bit going on,
06:02there was a little bit of argo for sure.
06:05The fact I've been asked about it on a couple of occasions now
06:08probably suggests one or two of them possibly were a tad naughty.
06:13Okay. Cheers.
06:14Thank you, everybody.
06:15Take care.
