Angel Applicant Movie Trailer HD - Plot synopsis: Paul Klee, a Swiss-German painter, fled Germany in 1933 when he and other modern artists were vilified by the rising Nazi Party. Isolated in Switzerland, a mysterious disease began wreaking havoc on his body and profoundly changing his artwork. Narrator/director, Ken August Meyer, explores Klee’s expressive last works after being diagnosed with the same life-threatening disease, systemic scleroderma. Through a curation of Klee’s work, Ken finds powerful messages on coping with his own mortality. Using colorful and whimsical visuals, Angel Applicant echoes the mystique and ironic wit of Klee, demonstrating how creativity can inspire us to overcome personal suffering and make the most of life.

00:07I know this is going to sound completely crazy, but some of these paintings feel like they're
00:13messages sent in a bottle just for me. Like, um, consolation from an empathetic ghost.
00:25I'm nervous to meet you because you'll notice something strange. It started with my hands when
00:34one day they mysteriously became cold. Then they suddenly puffed up, becoming hot and painful.
00:40As my skin began to harden, my joints began to fuse, leaving me with claws.
00:50What is happening to them is also happening to my entire body.
01:00Blah, blah, blah, hard as you can. Hang on a couple of seconds. Keep going, keep going.
01:05And to this current day, there is still no cure.
01:13What will happen next? Will it ever go away? How much time do I have? And what comes
01:20hereafter?
01:24This is Paul. Clay. He has first-hand experience in coping with this exact thing.
01:37These paintings demonstrate how to be defiant of this disease. Could this one be my portrait?
01:45a secret? They are a good. They are Testaments. That destruction can feed creation.
01:57They are proof that it's possible to thrive, even when it seems impossible.
02:03Yeah, the only thing I know
02:06Everything I know is wrong
02:12Like a strange draw
02:16Misery has a side effect
02:19Of making the good times euphoric
