00:00UMNO has called for events such as the ongoing Bukit Bintang Water Festival to be reviewed to
00:06ensure they align with Malaysia's cultural values, religious sensitivities and society's norms.
00:12Party President and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said all programs must uphold local
00:18values, customs, religious sensitivities and norms. He said UMNO took seriously the concerns
00:25expressed by the Federal Territory's Islamic Religious Department and Federal Territory's
00:31Mufti Department, saying they reflect the concerns of a large segment of Malaysians.
00:36Zahid said organizers should discuss future programs with the authorities to preserve community harmony.
00:42He added that guidelines also need to be refined and tightened to ensure all events are aligned
00:48with Malaysia's cultural values, religion and national identity. The Rain Rave Water Music
00:54festival is taking place from April 30th to May 2nd in Bukit Bintang as part of the Visit
01:00Malaysia 2026 campaign.
