00:00Hi, I'm Sophie Novelli. I'm a senior here and I'm a captain at St. Anthony's High School.
00:03This year, losing the Darien, like, brought me back to those memories, but we built off that.
00:10We want to build off each other, and our coaches do a really good job of preparing us for every
00:15game, and we look at each game as a new game and not the past. So we're going to build
00:21off
00:21of the mistakes we made watching film every day. I always dreamed of, like, playing for
00:25St. Anthony's, and, like, it's such a privilege to wear this jersey, so I think it would be
00:30amazing to, as a senior, cap it off with winning it out.
00:33Hi, I'm Emma Speed. I'm a captain here at St. Anthony's, and I play attack, and I'm a senior.
00:38It's always so funny. We joke about it because, you know, we're both brunette, lefty. We are
00:43going to, well, I'm going to Florida following her path, and it's just so funny. I learn from
00:49her every day. She teaches me new stuff at practice, and it's a great way to learn, too,
00:55as well because, obviously, we play the same position, so she's able to teach me certain
01:01things in that position, even off-ball near that position and stuff, so she helps me a lot.
01:07We just come to practice, you know, we try to build off each other every day and learn
01:12from each other in practice, and we have great chemistry on and off the field, and we just
01:17come to practice each day, compete, and we try to build that chemistry, even for the future.
01:21We all wanted to get better even more. You know, it was almost a little reality check.
01:26We, um, we, it was almost a learning opportunity for us and helped us grow. I almost feel like
01:32we got closer just from that, too, as well. Um, and yeah, it's great. I even learned so much
01:38from the girls at practice, playing with them every day. We moved forward together. We've
01:42been coming to practice, competing, competing in a great way, a fun way. We've had hard practices,
01:47fun practices, and, you know, everyone wants the same angle. Everyone wants to be at practice,
01:52so it's great to just learn off each other every day because the culture here is probably
01:57the most important thing. Uh, that's actually one of the reasons I even came to St. Anthony's
02:01because it's so big and it's amazing here. Everyone's always there for each other, having
02:05each other's backs, and it's just a great opportunity to be able to look up to alumni and even the
02:10coaching
02:10staff here.
02:10What are you going to miss the most?
02:12The girls, a hundred percent. It's a sisterhood here, and I'm definitely, I, even with graduation,
02:1815 days left of school, something I will definitely miss is the girls and playing with them.
