00:00British Royal King Charles made history this week when he became the second ever British monarch to address Congress.
00:09And I have to say, he kind of smashed it out of the park.
00:12Now, Charles spoke about the irreplaceable and unbreakable bond between the US and the UK
00:18at a time when things have been a little bit fraught between the two countries.
00:24But Charles not only discussed the irreplaceable connection between the two allies,
00:31he also spoke about moving that bond into a new era.
00:35And I have to say, he seemed to come over very well on both sides of the aisle.
00:41Images taken during the speech show politicians on both sides of things laughing hysterically.
00:46At one point, J.D. Vance looked like he was going to have to excuse himself he was laughing so
00:51hard.
00:52President Donald Trump even addressed Charles's dry sense of humor,
00:56joking that he managed to make the Democrats stand up and smile,
00:59which is something that he has never been able to do.
01:01But don't worry, it wasn't just a political speech that Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, were in town for.
01:07They also got to experience the high life of Washington, D.C.
01:12when they attended a white tie dinner in the East Room at the White House,
01:16which was hosted by Donald and his wife, Melania Trump.
01:19Now, everyone put on their finest of finery for the occasion.
01:23And Charles even took the opportunity to share a very special gift with President Trump.
01:29He offered up a bell that was taken from a World War II era submarine,
01:34which is actually known as HMS Trump.
01:36How fitting.
01:37The bell therefore has Trump's name on it, along with 1944,
01:41which was the year that the submarine first left port.
01:45Now, everyone appeared to be getting on like a house on fire during the event,
01:48even though Charles didn't get an opportunity to experience Trump's new ballroom,
01:54which hasn't quite yet been finished.
01:56After wrapping things up in D.C., Charles and Camilla headed to New York,
02:01where they had another incredibly busy day of events.
02:04They started things off visiting the 9-11 memorial in downtown Manhattan,
02:09which Charles noted was a place that he felt an especially close connection to,
02:14explaining that the U.K. had been there to support the U.S. during that horrible time,
02:19and that he hoped the country would continue to support its ally in the future.
02:24Charles then headed to 30 Rock, which is just across the street.
02:27Sadly, though, we didn't manage to catch sight of him from the window,
02:30but we hear that he was attending a very important trade event at Rockefeller Plaza.
02:35Meanwhile, his wife headed to a historic New York hotspot in the form of the New York Public Library.
02:41The two of them were then set to head up to Harlem,
02:44where they were going to round out what has been a packed schedule of engagements.
02:49And before you ask, because we know you will,
02:52there has been no sign of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,
02:56with sources revealing prior to the monarch's trip overseas
03:00that they were unlikely to see Harry and his wife,
03:03not only because it might have cast something of a dark shadow over the whole series of events,
03:10but also because they are spending the entirety of their time on the East Coast
03:14and didn't have the opportunity to travel over to California to visit Harry, Meghan, and their two children.
03:20However, we understand that Harry is hopeful that he will see his father at some point over the summer,
03:26when he and his wife, and maybe even his kids, could well travel to the U.K.,
03:31while Charles' schedule is a little bit more quiet.
03:34As for Charles and Camilla, they look to be in great spirits throughout their trip to D.C.,
03:39and indeed in New York.
03:41And we have high hopes that their visit over here may well ensure
03:46a much smoother irreplaceable bond between the U.S. and the U.K. in the future.
