00:00That's the problem, Matt.
00:03I'm all out of calm.
00:07It really looks like Marvel might be slowly building towards something bigger on the street
00:12level side of the MCU, and instead of jumping straight into a full Defenders reboot, they
00:17could be setting up a Heroes for Hire project with characters like Luke Cage, Iron Fist,
00:22and even someone unexpected like Deadpool. That idea actually makes a lot of sense because
00:27it lets Marvel continue those grounded stories while also bringing in a fresh tone, especially
00:33since Deadpool adds a completely different kind of energy to any team he joins.
00:37What's interesting is that the foundation for this kind of project might come from a
00:41place people weren't originally expecting, like Vision Quest. Even though that series
00:46doesn't seem directly connected to street level heroes at first, it introduces characters
00:50like Paladin, who fits perfectly into the Heroes for Hire's concept. In the comics, Paladin
00:57isn't your typical hero because he works as a mercenary, taking jobs for money, but he
01:01still has a moral code, which makes him someone who can operate in that grey area between hero
01:06and anti-hero. Because of that, he becomes a really important piece of the puzzle. If Marvel
01:12uses Vision Quest to introduce Paladin properly, it could naturally lead into the idea of forming
01:18a team of hired heroes. That's basically what Heroes for Hire has always been about, a group
01:23that takes on jobs, protects people, and operates more like a business instead of a traditional
01:28superhero team. So even though the Defenders are the more famous name right now, this approach
01:34might feel more grounded and flexible for the MCU moving forward. At the same time, Marvel
01:40has already started bringing back characters from the Netflix era, and that's where things
01:44begin to connect. With Daredevil Born Again continuing the story of Matt Murdock, and reintroducing
01:50characters like Wilson Fisk, Karen Page, and others, it's clear that this part of the universe
01:55is still very much alive. And now that Jessica Jones has returned, it feels like the rest of
02:00the team isn't far behind. There have been strong hints that Luke Cage and Iron Fist are
02:05also coming back, possibly in later seasons of Born Again. If that happens, it sets up a situation
02:11where all the key players are back in the same world again, even though they might not immediately
02:16form a team. But instead of rushing into another Defenders storyline, Marvel could take its time
02:22and let these characters reconnect in a more natural way. That's where the Heroes for Hire
02:27idea becomes really important. In the comics, Luke Cage and Iron Fist built their partnership around
02:33the idea of getting paid for their work, which gave their stories a different kind of tone
02:38compared to other superhero teams. It wasn't just about saving the world, it was also about survival,
02:44business, and navigating complicated moral choices. That kind of storytelling fits perfectly with what
02:50the MCU has been doing with its street-level characters. Now, adding Deadpool into that mix would
02:56completely change the dynamic, but in a way that could actually work. Because Deadpool already operates
03:02outside the usual rules, he can move between different tones, from serious to chaotic, without
03:08breaking the story. So if Marvel is planning a Heroes for Hire show or special, bringing him in could
03:14make it stand out even more, especially since he can interact with characters like Luke Cage and Iron
03:19Fist in ways that feel unpredictable but still entertaining. At the same time, this kind of project could also
03:27pick up on storylines that were originally planned but never completed. For example, Luke Cage's arc at the
03:33end of his series left him as the so-called King of Harlem, trying to control crime from the inside.
03:39That was a huge shift for his character because he moved away from being a straightforward hero
03:44and into a more complicated role. So if he returns in the MCU, that storyline could continue,
03:51and it could even become a major part of how Heroes for Hire is formed. Because if Luke is still
03:56running Harlem in some way, teaming up with Iron Fist again could create tension as well as partnership.
04:02Danny Rand has always had a more traditional heroic outlook, even though his story has its own
04:07complications. Their dynamic has always worked best when they balance each other out, and bringing them
04:13back together in a structured team could finally deliver what fans have been waiting for since the
04:18Netflix era. Another important piece of this puzzle is how Daredevil Born Again seems to be building
04:24toward a larger crossover. There are signs that the story might evolve into something similar to a
04:29Defender-style arc in later seasons, especially if multiple characters come together to face a bigger
04:35threat. But instead of stopping there, Marvel could use that as a launching point to spin off characters
04:41into their own projects, including a dedicated Heroes for Hire series. That approach makes sense
04:47because it avoids repeating the exact same formula as before. Instead of locking all the characters
04:53into one show, Marvel can let them grow individually and then bring them together when it matters.
04:59So even if there's a Defender-style storyline in Born Again, it doesn't mean that's the end goal,
05:04it could actually just be the beginning of something bigger. There are also hints that other elements
05:10from the Defender's world are coming back, like the Hand. Their presence in recent footage suggests
05:15that some of those older storylines are still relevant, which means Marvel has the chance to
05:20revisit unresolved arcs. That could tie into a Heroes for Hire project as well, especially since
05:26dealing with organizations like the Hand requires a team effort. At the same time, Marvel seems to be
05:33planning multiple projects around these characters, not just one. There have been talks about a
05:38potential Jessica Jones-focused series and possibly other spin-offs that continue different parts of the
05:44story. So instead of one big Defender's reboot, it looks more like a network of connected shows,
05:49with Heroes for Hire being one of the key pieces. What makes this even more interesting is how much
05:55material already exists from the comics. The Heroes for Hire concept has a long history, with different
06:01lineups and storylines that Marvel can draw from. It's not limited to just Luke Cage and Iron Fist,
06:07even though they are the core of the team. Characters like Paladin, and even others like Black Knight or
06:13Hercules, could be added depending on how the MCU wants to shape the group. And because the MCU is moving
06:19into a phase where it's introducing more characters and expanding its world, a team like this can help ground
06:25everything. While the larger films deal with cosmic threats and multiverse events, Heroes for Hire can focus on
06:32street-level problems, which gives the audience a very different kind of story to connect with.
06:37Another factor to consider is timing. It sounds like Marvel might not introduce everything at once,
06:43especially since there are bigger events coming up that will reshape the MCU. So a Heroes for Hire
06:49show could come later, after those events have settled, which gives the characters time to be
06:54reintroduced properly. That also allows Marvel to explore character relationships in more depth.
07:00For example, the dynamic between Luke Cage and Jessica Jones could evolve further,
07:05especially if they follow the comic storyline where they eventually have a child. Even though
07:11that might not happen right away, it adds another layer to their story and could influence how Luke
07:16approaches being a hero moving forward. At the same time, Iron Fist's character could be reworked and
07:22improved, addressing some of the issues from his original series while keeping the core elements that make
07:28him interesting. His partnership with Luke Cage has always been one of the strongest aspects of both
07:33characters, so focusing on that could help redefine him in the MCU. When you look at everything together,
07:39it really does feel like Marvel is building towards something like Heroes for Hire, even if they haven't
07:44officially announced it yet. The return of key characters, the setup in shows like Daredevil Born Again and
07:50Vision Quest and the unresolved storylines from the Netflix era all point in that direction. And if they do go
07:57that route, adding someone like Deadpool into the mix could give the project a unique identity. It wouldn't
08:03just be another team-up show, it would be something that blends action, humor, and character-driven
08:09storytelling in a way that feels fresh but still connected to everything that came before.
08:15So, even though fans are still waiting for confirmation, the pieces are clearly falling
08:22into place. Instead of a simple Defenders revival, Marvel might be aiming for something bigger and more
08:30flexible, where Heroes for Hire becomes the next step for these characters. And if that happens,
08:37it could finally deliver the kind of long-running, interconnected, street-level storytelling that people
08:44have been wanting for years.
