00:00And on to other political matters as well, Richard, does the king's refusal to address the Prince Andrew and the
00:08Epstein scandal, this is something we saw the king very silent on. What do you make of this silence?
00:14Well, firstly, this was always going to be controversial, and this was always going to be something that was part
00:22and parcel of the visit. For example, if the king is the fountain of justice in the United Kingdom, his
00:31brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has been arrested by the police for considering charges of misconduct in public office.
00:41Now, it's very possible that we know the charges that have been made against him, which he has strongly denied,
00:48but the facts are that there may be further charges which may involve Epstein and his links.
00:55The facts are also that for any state visit, you'd have to have both host country and, of course, Britain
01:03as a guest agreeing that, say, King Charles should meet some of the victims of the deceased paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
01:11Now, I certainly can't see that the host country would have agreed, and indeed the point has been made, that
01:18only Ghislaine Maxwell in the United States has actually been convicted and imprisoned for links to Epstein.
01:28So this was something that was always going to come up. But I can't see that it could be taken
01:33further, because the king, as I say, is a fountain of justice. Were his brother to be involved in further
01:41charges, that could be embarrassing had he met some of Epstein's victims whilst abroad.
