The clip shows a man beginning a paragliding launch and lifting into the air before losing height and dropping to the ground.
"My friends and I bought a paraglider, and we had everything we needed to launch. We had made about 15–20 flights before the situation you see in the video happened. It was serious because many factors played a role: a headwind, an unreliable cable that snapped, and the rest of the situation unfolds in the video," the filmer, Herman, told WooGlobe.
The abrupt shift from airborne to impact turns the attempt into a quick reminder of how little margin there can be during a launch.
