01:16We are giving you two days, you agreed to it, $2,000, to create an entire room using only thrifted,
01:25upcycled, wonderfully dusty and delicious pieces that you will find out in the world.

03:54The room you will be creating is a speakeasy.

04:13We have created two identical rooms that you will be transforming for our panel of expert judges.
04:20And in those rooms, we have three pieces of furniture.

04:25You can use them as is.
04:26Or you can give them back to us and we will recycle them.
04:29So you'll be doing the same room, but you're not doing the same style.
04:33To determine who gets which style, we have a little challenge.
04:37We call it the vintage shuffle.
04:39You will each get four items.
04:42You will get little placards with four different decades.

04:47The team that gets more correct will get first choice between those two styles.

31:50When I design spaces, I love to mix eras, mix colors, mix patterns.
31:54Anything that really just brings joy and life into a home.
31:57They've got $2,000 to transform these rooms completely.
32:01And I think this is a really good exercise for everybody watching
32:04to see how much you can do to stretch your budget.
32:07When you see a vintage piece in impeccable condition,
32:11it is true joy, and you can make such an impact of a space.
32:16All right, so the criteria that the judges are looking for is threefold.
32:21Number one, they want to see which team has the best eye when out thrifting.
32:25The second thing that they're looking for is execution of your assigned style.
32:29Finally, they're looking for the big picture.
32:31They want to see the room that looks like a million bucks,
32:33even though we know it costs just $2,000.

32:56Tell us a bit about your Moroccan-inspired speakeasy.
33:00What was the vision here?
33:01So, we wanted a very authentic feel,
33:04so we put together the blocks around the baseboard.
33:08We actually have a hidden surprise.

33:13And there's our speakeasy.

33:15And we found this fabulous vintage Mary Mecco.
33:19You found that out thrifting?

33:26if I came across that in the thrift shop,
33:29I would have just, like, got on my knees
33:31and thanked the angels.

33:36It's one of my favorite places in Marrakesh.
33:38And so, it's a very special place for me.
33:40I haul a lot of things back.
33:41So, I think you really nailed a lot of the warmth
33:45with this beautiful deep wine velvet.
33:47Reminds me of some of the famous hotels there
33:49in the main lobby.
33:50I like some of the other textures you brought in.
33:52And the styling details everywhere,
33:54from the little dice to the cards
33:56to the little treats behind the cabinet.

34:58I almost wish, and I know how short your time was,
35:00if you had gone into some sort of, like, plaster thing,
35:03or even with a sponge or an old brush,
35:05just to give me a little bit more of that Moroccan feel texture a little bit.
35:09But I think in the amount of time, you guys pulled off a lot.
35:11There's so much seating, which is incredible.
35:14But if we would have played with maybe two different kinds of seating,
35:18so right now we're all in chairs,
35:20but if there could have been a place of, like, a smaller couch
35:24where you can just, like, really get cozy, what happened?
