00:00The Celtics stand in the room is a little concerned, apparently.
00:05A little concerned.
00:06How could you not be after that fourth quarter?
00:09Like, I know double-digit leads don't mean what they used to mean in the NBA,
00:14and anybody can come back with the three-pointers.
00:16But what's frustrating with that Celtics loss is it was so much of the same blueprint
00:22from the first loss in the series that they had, plus Embiid.
00:26And Embiid looked like vintage Embiid last night.
00:30Yeah, the full Embiid experience where he goes to the locker room
00:33because he has a knee injury going up against Jalen Brown.
00:36But then he comes back, and it's like they let Tyrese Maxey get hot.
00:40Sixers go 3-4 from the three-point line when Embiid goes to the locker room.
00:44And then when Embiid comes back in, the whole game has changed.
00:46And he's like, I'll just join into the Sixers party.
00:49I can hit threes, too.
00:51It's frustrating because they could have had that game last night.
00:54The Sixers stole it.
00:55I don't know if you need to sage TD Garden before the Bruins come back
01:00so that they have a chance.
01:02And Kyrie Irving did it a couple years ago.
01:04Maybe you have to follow his lead.
01:06It's nice to have Courtney back.
01:09I mean, you did.
01:11I will tell you, it's pretty impressive.
01:12How long ago was the appendicitis?
01:15Like a week and a half?
01:16You got 39 minutes from him last night.
01:19So you can no longer assume that he's not going to be a factor for the rest of the series.
01:26Yeah, it was a problem.
01:27He was straight bully ball, especially on Vucevic.
01:29It was like every time he got the ball and Vucevic was covering him, he basically backed him underneath the
01:35hoop.
01:35Can we stop acting like the Sixers were the reason the Celtics lost?
01:40What do you mean?
01:40Like, you have 11 points.
01:43You go three for 22 in the fourth quarter.
01:47Oh, yeah.
01:47The worst fourth quarter.
01:49Do the Celtics, have they played a lot of playoff games?
01:51I'm trying to remember.
01:52They have.
01:53They played a few of them.
01:54They missed 16 straight field goals to end that game last night.
01:5816 of them.
01:59There's no way around it.
02:00The coach just goes, yeah, just missed some shots.
02:03We had some good looks.
02:04It's bad.
02:05No, it was bad shot selection.
02:06It's like, I get you live and die on the three-point line, and I get it when a guy's
02:11open and he comes off a pick and he gets a good look, or you swing the ball and he
02:15got a good look.
02:16But just the forcing of threes, like contested threes, step-back threes, it just gets frustrating to watch when it's
02:26not going in.
02:27And then I would do, like, listen, we all love Derek White, but I would pull back some of his
02:32minutes.
02:32If I'm Joe Missoula, I'd be like, all right, I'm going to start you, but if I see that you're
02:37not in a great rhythm, I'm coming off the bench with, you know, either Pritch or Big Shot Bob.
02:42I mean, that's been a thing.
02:45I love Big Shot Bob.
02:45It's been a thing all season long.
02:47Oh, yeah.
02:47It has.
02:47You can't knock his D, but he's been.
02:51Yeah, he gives you other things.
02:53I'll give you that.
02:54But he just has not been the same Derek White all season long.
02:59Yeah, he has the Chuck Knobloch yips when it comes to the offensive side of the basketball court.
03:06But I will say that they do not appear to be concerned at all.
03:11I don't know if that's a part of your concern, but Jason Tatum misses both of those field goals.
03:18And I get it.
03:19Sorry, both of those free throws.
03:20You're down.
03:21I don't know.
03:21We're down 10 or 12 at that point.
03:23They were down 10 at that point.
03:24But then, basically, you sit everybody down, and it's like, we're not, you know, we're fine.
03:31Let's go back to Philadelphia.
03:33So, I don't, you know.
03:34I don't think they're concerned.
03:36No, they're not.
03:37And I don't know if people care about that or not.
03:40Do you want the Jays in there at the end of that game last night trying to win it?
03:45Like, I mean, do you care?
03:47Okay.
03:47No.
03:48Because once he missed those two free throws, they were down by 10.
03:51And then, I believe, when Philly came down, they hit a three, and the lead went up to 13.
03:56Then they came back, and they missed a field goal shot or something like that.
04:02And at that point in time, there was less than two minutes in the game.
04:05I think it's kind of to Curtis's point a little bit.
04:07They feel like they're not going to shoot as bad as they shot in the fourth quarter.
04:12Because at one point in time, they were up 9 or 11 or something in the fourth quarter.
04:17And they, you know, and they realize it's going to be, you know, they're not going to have many of
04:22those games.
04:23And it's almost, and the thing about these series, and Megal, you brought it up, and I think it's a
04:27good point.
04:28I mean, they know that they're always good for one or two stinkers, whether they're at home or on the
04:34road.
04:34And they feel like the next game, it won't be like that.
04:39But this shouldn't have been one of those because you got a lot out of the Jays, especially early on.
04:45What's crazy to me is that fourth quarter, you had four different Sixers players who had 14 points or more
04:53in the fourth quarter alone.
04:54You had two guys from the Celtics, the two Jays, who had 14 points or more the entire game.
05:00They need more support from the depth.
05:02Like, on the one hand, we can't talk about the depth of this team and then not talk about it
05:06when they don't show up in what could have been a closeout game.
05:09And Derek White, like, he's everybody's favorite guy on that team.
05:15I agree.
05:16With the way Peyton Pritchard has been playing over the last two games, he's the third option right now.
05:21And that's why I said, and Big Shot Bob, like, because Big Shot Bob might not be as good as
05:27a ball hander as Derek White.
05:30He might not be as good as a defender, but he rebounds, he hustles.
05:34He can give you some of those things that maybe Derek White gives you, and he gives you a little
05:39bit of offense.
05:40You know, last night, I think, you know, he got his opportunity.
05:44He gets in the paint, too.
05:45Yeah, and yeah, he can get in the paint, he can hit the three-pointer, but when you start to
05:51look at this team and you start to say, Joe, it's like, hey, Derek just ain't got it, man.
05:55Let's get some other guys in there.
05:57One other thing with the threes that I think people, like, what they don't always vocalize, what's frustrating about the
06:03threes is it feels like the Celtics are trying to put the game away all at once.
06:06Yes.
06:06By getting those threes up.
06:08Okay, if we get two threes here, then we're going to have a six-point lead, and then we're going
06:11to get a bigger lead, and when it doesn't happen, their offensive rebounding has been great through most of the
06:17season and series.
06:19It wasn't in that fourth quarter last night, and you were basically giving turnovers for Maxie to run it down
06:25or Embiid to run it down the other side and score on the other end.
06:28That's how it got away.
06:29Well, I will say one thing, and I was full Bruins commercial break Celtics last night, as you might imagine,
06:37but at times when I flipped over, you brought up Nimas Kata and the fact that that may be an
06:44issue for them, and it seemed like there were times in that game last night where whether he was not
06:50figuring the screen out or whatever, where he was an issue, and you brought that up last week or whatever.
06:56That's a concern.
06:57He's got to stay out of foul trouble.
06:58Yeah, he does, and they got to do a better job when Maxie's in the pick and roll because, you
07:04know, NBA lingo, they like to play that drop coverage with Nimas, but Maxie was coming off the pick and
07:09basically just as soon as he came off that pick, he was guns a blazing.
07:14He was knocking down shots, so I'd play Gazer a little bit more because he did a good job against
07:18Joel Embiid when it came to, like, keeping him on.
07:22But I'd rather see Joel Embiid shooting that foul line jumper than basically taking whoever's covering him to underneath the
07:30hoop, turning around, and either lay up, dunk, or going into free throw line.
07:34And for me, Greg, like, if I were one of the Celtics stars and I knew if I won the
07:38game I didn't have to spend three days in Philadelphia, I would have the game of my life.
07:43Like, the notion that they have to go back to that hellhole is just awful.
07:47And it's, I am not in any way changing my view that this team should be in the NBA Finals.
07:54We always get lost, rightfully so, in the back and forth of a series that we think the Celtics are
08:00better than the other team in.
08:01But I just go back to that 08 season.
08:03The two-years-ago title is the anomaly.
08:07Like, you went seven games with the Hawks in the first round, a team that you are vastly, much better
08:12than that Hawks team than the Celtics team is to the Sixers.
08:15And so, I mean, you want to end it in six.
08:18You don't want to deal with having to go to seven because, as you know, anything can happen.
08:22But I don't think that this changes.
08:24Has it changed Vegas' view?
08:26Well, I think Chris from Methuen has a point about Vegas.
08:30Good morning, Chris.
08:31Yeah, it seems like Vegas had other plans.
08:35They don't like these five-game series.
08:38But work with me.
08:40So, how did they tell Jason Tatum to miss free throws?
08:43No, they told the referees because the referees were god-awful.
08:46Oh, Wiggy.
08:47Yeah.
08:47Yeah.
08:47Yeah.
08:47Yeah.
08:47Yeah.
08:47Yeah.
08:47What?
