00:06This is Shadiya Mansour, First Lady of Arabic Hip Hop.
00:09My message to the Colombian people is, first of all, thank you for having me.
00:13I had a great time at Hip Hop Al Parque. I hope you enjoyed the show.
00:17I hope that we can strengthen the Colombian-Palestinian unity, solidarity between us.
00:25And I hope that my visit here is the start of that, or even the continuation of that.
00:30And, you know, we all want peace, but as I always say, we can't have peace without justice.
00:39I am born and raised in London. I'm Palestinian, Christian.
00:47And I got into Hip Hop through, like, going to protests in London, to Palestinian protests.
00:53And I joined, like, a Hip Hop crew, which was, like, a collective Syrian, Moroccan, Lebanese.
01:02And we just became, like, a crew. And I just channeled my, I guess, my messages through Hip Hop.
01:10And at the time, it was, like, MySpace music was a thing. So we just kind of did everything independently
01:17from the beginning.
01:18And uploaded music. And we started to tour together. And I started to tour on my own. And that's how
01:27it really came together.
01:31I don't sing against anyone. I sing truth. I talk about what's going on. I talk about reality. I'm not
01:37against anyone.
01:38It's, if you refuse, you know, like, lyrics that are pointing out, highlighting the situation on the ground,
01:47that means you're challenging, in a way, like investigative journalism.
01:51Because it's similar, in a way, where we do our own research, and then we put it onto a song,
01:57onto music, and we release it.
01:59So, I don't make up these stories. I didn't make up occupation. I didn't make up Israel. I didn't make
02:04up illegal settlements.
02:06I didn't make up millions of refugees. I didn't make any of that up. It's all facts on the ground.
02:11And it's, even the most biased right-wing newspapers would, you know, report the same information.
02:18So, that there is occupation, and that there are settlements.
02:23There are Palestinian refugees that are stuck in Lebanon and Syria and Jordan and Iraq and all over the Arab
02:31world.
02:32Not to mention the Palestinians, even here in Colombia, that are all living in the diaspora,
02:38had to move away and, you know, re-adapt to a new life because of the occupation.
02:46It's not stories. This is facts. And that's, you know, I don't see it as being against anyone.
02:55So, you can go on iTunes if you want to buy the songs. You just have to type my name,
03:02and it's on iTunes, Sealy Baby, everything, Amazon.
03:06Also, there's many different, like, if you Google, like, to free, if you want to download for free, you can
03:12download it for free.
03:12That's also available. This is for, you know, the songs are dedicated. They're a tribute for the Palestinian cause.
03:19Also, I make it also available for people that can't download.
