Con una población de más 83 millones de habitantes, Turquía se enfrenta a diferentes retos con la vacunación: el difícil acceso a las aldeas remotas, el clima extremo y el escepticismo de los ancianos respecto a las vacunas anticovid. Para mitigar estos retos, el gobierno creó las brigadas contra COVID-19 que buscan llegar a las zonas más remotas del país. Hasta febrero del 2021, Turquía había registrado 2,5 millones de contagios de coronavirus y más de 27 mil muertes.
