"Sino ba naman ako?" says Marcoleta on BIR Box opening

On Wednesday, April 29, SAGIP Party-list Rep. Paolo Marcoleta expressed his motion to proceed with the decision of the House of Representatives' Committee on Justice to open the sealed box provided by the Bureau of Investigation (BIR). The said box contains tax and business records of Vice President Sara Duterte from the BIR, which would be used as evidence of the Vice President's alleged crimes of tax evasion, discrepancies, and malversation.  Marcoleta challenges the committee to open the BIR box, warning that they must proceed with an 'acceptable reason' that adheres to the law. Eventually, the committee settled on voting and ultimately waived to opening the box. 00:08I hope that I will give you a manifestation to prove that this box from the BIR.

00:23The truth is that I will not prove.

00:28You may go ahead and open it all you want.

00:34Sabi nga ni Madam Chair, hawak niya ang bit.

00:41Sino ba naman ako para pigilan ito?

00:43Sabi nga ng kanta, huwag mong bibitawan.

00:47Huwag niyo na bibitawan yung box.

00:50So I dare the committee to open the box, but with a caveat,

00:54siguraduhin niyo po na hindi kayo nakalalabag sa batas.

00:59At sinabi rin po ni Popoy sa pelikula,

01:04I deserve an explanation.

01:08I deserve an acceptable reason.

01:12Siguraduhin niyo po na kung bubuksan niyo yan, mayroon kayong acceptable reason na naayon sa batas.

01:22At ako po ay kahisan niyo rin sa committee na ito sa paghahanap ng katotohanan.

01:29Pero sa ating paghahanap at pagsasiliksik ng katotohanan,

01:33siguraduhin po natin na tayo po ay hindi nakalalabag sa ating mga batas.

01:38Maraming salamat po Madam Chair.

01:40Again, that is a manifestation and therefore it does not deserve or require any answer.
