00:32Well, the amazing food, the amazing history of how the Europeans came over, especially the Spanish and the Portuguese, and
00:44just destroyed the original culture, the indianos, the original inhabitants.
00:51But out of that chaos came amazing civilizations.
00:59And today, all of South America, Central America, and Mexico is unequaled around the world for culture, food, history.
01:10There's a lot.
01:18Well, we are very lucky because all of us are healthy, strong.
01:23We're looking to go back out on tour and do another hundred cities around the world.
01:30But the important thing is to be honest with your fans, to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing
01:38but the truth.
01:39And there are some wonderful stories.
01:42And then there are some sad stories about members with drugs and alcohol and some bad times, good times and
01:51bad times.
01:52And the most important thing we owe to the fans is the truth.
01:57And Kistory tells the whole story of the history, the Kistory of the band.
02:05But it also tells you the truth, all of it, the good truth and the bad truth.
02:22I've never used drugs.
02:25I've never smoked cigarettes.
02:29But I have a big ego.
02:31And I know that.
02:33And so one of the things is to try to control that.
02:38Because I was an only child.
02:40I didn't have brothers or sisters.
02:42And so the only thing I could do was look in the mirror and look at myself.
02:47And when you look in the mirror, you only have yourself to look at.
02:51So it's easy to forget that it takes a team.
02:55It always takes a team.
02:57And it's not just all you.
02:59And if Paul wasn't here, I wouldn't be here.
03:03And I think he feels the same way about me.
03:13Well, love is a strange thing.
03:17You can be in love with a country, a woman.
03:22There's something strange about KISS.
03:24It started off as a band.
03:26And it became a family.
03:29A family that you're not born into.
03:32It's easy to love your family because it's your blood.
03:37But with KISS, like most families, there were arguments.
03:42People argued.
03:43Some people were healthy.
03:45Some people were not healthy.
03:46But you have to remember that for the whole history of the band, even with the bad times,
03:53there will always be family.
03:55Ace and Peter will always be family.
03:58And without them, we wouldn't be here.
04:01But if they were here today, there would be no KISS.
04:05But you have to remember, at the end of the day, it is about family.
04:10And a band is a family.
04:11I spend more time being in the band on the road than I do with my own family.
04:28You know, the world has lots of problemas.
04:32There's crime and drugs and violence and even small wars.
04:39I hope when you come to see KISS that you will forget about the problems of the world.
04:46Like electric church.
04:48When you go to church, you forget about the problems outside.
04:52Even the traffic or the girlfriend is screaming because you're looking at the other girls.
05:00All those problems, we hope you forget about when you come to see our concerts.
05:06We hope it's magic time.
05:09And we hope that every single concert we will ever play stays true to how we introduce ourselves.
05:18You wanted the best.
05:19You got the best.
05:21The hottest band in the world, KISS.
05:24And we want to make those words mean something every show we play.
05:36You have to go to the gym.
05:39You have to go almost every day.
05:41You have to climb mountains.
05:44You have to stop eating cake.
05:45I love cake.
05:46I love cookies and cake.
05:51And that's my biggest problem.
05:54And so sugar, cake, chocolates, just that's the biggest problem.
06:01And so the only way, and by the way, the important thing is if you don't drink, if you don't
06:10use drugs,
06:11if you don't smoke cigarettes, you can be 71 years old and put your hand in front of your face
06:21and it's not going to shake, you see?
06:23You can do that.
06:24You can literally put your hand in front of your face and it stays still.
06:32Healthy mind, healthy body, everything works.
06:37Down there works.
06:38Up here works.
06:40Your brain works.
06:42Good blood.
06:43And when you get up on stage, you rock.
06:56The two most important moments are the birth of a baby and then at the end.
07:04It's the beginning is always the most important thing.
07:08The worst moments were, unfortunately, when we realized that you can't drive a car with two flat tires.
07:19The saddest and the worst times was realizing that the original four members were not going to go for the
07:28whole journey.
07:30That we had to get divorced.
07:33That we had to get divorced from Ace and Peter three different times, three times.
07:39And we brought Ace and Peter back and we loved them.
07:44They're always going to be a part of the family.
07:46They were out of the band three times.
07:48We brought them back three times and it still didn't work.
07:51And that's the saddest part.
07:53The saddest part is that now we're approaching almost 50 years afterwards.
07:59They're not here to enjoy the big success.
08:03That's the saddest thing.
08:05And we asked both Ace and Peter.
08:07I called them up.
08:08I said, the documentary is coming up.
08:11Do you want to be in the documentary?
08:13And both said no.
08:15And I asked both of them, do you want to come out on tour, play a few songs?
08:19They said no.
08:22That's sad.
08:23Bye-bye.
08:25Bye-bye.
08:27Bye-bye.
08:31Bye-bye.
