Ranger Suárez en los libros de récords de MLB

Ranger Suárez vivió, la noche del lunes, una de sus mejores aperturas en la MLB, por no decir la mejor en su carrera, frente a Toronto Blue Jays.  Luego de un inicio turbulento con el equipo de Boston Red Sox, el zurdo venezolano se creció y demostró por qué el equipo de Massachusetts lo firmó por $130 millones y cinco temporadas.  Durante ocho episodios, Suárez silenció a la ofensiva de Toronto Blue Jays con tan solo un imparable, además de recetar hasta 10 ponches. Dicha actuación de Suárez lo elevó como el primer lanzador zurdo venezolano en la historia de la MLB en lograr este tipo de gesta.  Muchos pensarán en Johan Santana o, quizás en Wilson Álvarez o Jesús Luzardo, pero ninguno de estos tres zurdos lograron o han logrado, en el caso de Luzardo quien se mantiene vigente, este tipo de salidas.  Asimismo, es el tercer lanzador de Medias Rojas de Boston en completar este tipo de salidas, uniéndose a Roger Moret (1974) y a Jon Lester (2014).   Para Suárez significó su segundo triunfo en la temporada, además de bajar su efectividad a 3.09.
