00:00Neil the contest is that open AI has promised to invest or to be involved in
00:05about 1.4 trillion dollars of infrastructure spending it's worth
00:08noting that those not all of those are lock solid concrete commitments it's
00:13more of an aspiration but nonetheless it's causing some concern we saw that
00:17reflected in the softbank stock today that's a clear read on open AI there is
00:21concern amongst investors that that maybe open AI is not getting the
00:25traction needed to support that spend very fair fair summary I'm sure why you
00:31need me here to be additional content content how investors are looking at this
00:36is that is that the right read on this and is this is this a question about
00:40competition versus Gemini and anthropic or something else going on here I think it
00:43is highly likely to be about competition anthropic which the developers came out
00:48of open AI originally yeah so this this look at the the context here in the open
00:53AI put out a statement at the end of March saying they were they were running
00:57two billion dollars of revenue a month Bloomberg news reported last month the
01:02anthropic were already running 20 billion dollars a year where they're only a
01:08fast follower so they were already catching up really quickly quickly with
01:11open AI the question is asked if they haven't reached the 1 billion of active
01:16weekly users at open AI whether that's reflective of these competitive
01:20challenges I suggest the answer is yes it is and if you look at the the stocks
01:25involved in in these various AI complexes the Google AI models which have not had a
01:32recent update but they've had a a fantastic run you've seen a lot of the we saw the
01:37socks index as we've mentioned before in the show that has had this record run which
01:41came to an end yesterday so I think there are definitely questions about back to the old
01:47questions are we gonna see the return on investments from all of these these
01:51massive AI spends and that question remains to be seen but leadership
01:55changes so quickly in check the where do you justify these the trillion dollars of
01:59spend that's coming through
