00:02Well, Ms Wilson denies ever mistreating women on the film set of The Deb and she even says
00:09she's never mistreated women in her 25 year career in the film industry.
00:14So this is the first day Rebel Wilson has given evidence in this high stakes defamation case against her.
00:20Charlotte McInnes, as you said, has brought on this case against Ms Wilson.
00:24She claims that she's been defamed by Ms Wilson on social media
00:30about her being sexually harassed by the film's producer Amanda Ghost
00:34and then walking back those claims in order to further her career.
00:39Now under cross-examination today, Charlotte McInnes's barrister Sue Chrysanthu SC
00:43put it to Ms Wilson that she mistreated a number of women in the film or on the set of
00:49the film The Deb
00:50and she obviously vehemently denies that.
00:53Ms Chrysanthu went on to ask rather than championing Ms McInnes,
00:57I want to suggest to you that you bullied or harassed her privately and publicly
01:01and Ms Wilson denied that saying that's absolute nonsense.
01:07Now central to this case is this bath incident that happened in 2023 in Bondi involving Ms McInnes and the
01:15producer Amanda Ghost.
01:16We heard last week that both of them shared a bath while wearing their swimmers.
01:22Rebel Wilson told the court today that Ms McInnes confided in her in 2023 about this incident
01:27and it felt like she was making a sexual harassment claim there and she was quite shocked by the claim.
01:34And what did Rebel Wilson have to say in court today about allegations of a smear campaign?
01:39Yeah, last week we heard about this alleged smear campaign against the producer Amanda Ghost
01:45and some of those questions were put to Ms Wilson today.
01:48She denies that she ever was involved in orchestrating a smear campaign against Amanda Ghost.
01:55The PR firm she says she has no links to and she didn't orchestrate publishing a takedown website
02:02attacking the movie producer Amanda Ghost.
02:05Ms Chrisanthu, the lawyer there, put to Ms Wilson that from a public relations perspective it benefited you greatly.
02:13But Ms Wilson said if anything I think it would have angered Ms Ghost and made her retaliation worse against
02:18me.
02:19And so this was a big day in this case today with Rebel Wilson giving evidence.
02:22Has she finished now or what's next?
02:24Yeah, no she has another full day of evidence tomorrow.
02:28She's still under cross-examination so she'll be back in the stand tomorrow and the case will continue probably through
02:35till the end of this week.
