00:00okay now to the middle east where iran has reportedly made a new offer to the u.s when
00:05it comes to the strait of hormuz axios writing quote iran gave the u.s a new proposal to reopen
00:12the strait of hormuz reopen the war okay with nuclear negotiations postponed for a later stage
00:18according to a u.s official and two sources with knowledge diplomacy is in a stalemate
00:23and the iranian leadership is divided about what nuclear concessions should be on the table
00:29damn this is the new iran offer oh my god president also commenting on when the war could end
00:36and on the regime's nuclear threat to fox news israel would get blown up within minutes from
00:44the time they got it damn so we can't let iran have no yes so this should have been done
00:50by
00:50previous presidents yes it should have been done for years yes yes 47 years it's been going on and
00:56yes half a century half a century did anything about it we've done a great job and it'll come
01:02to an end very soon very very soon it'll be very victorious okay but they cannot have a nuclear weapon
01:08our first priority to discuss this is fox news contributor and former cia station chief dan hoffman
01:13dan we know that the president has said we are not budging any way shape or form on nukes we
01:19need to
01:20get what we are demanding on nukes or there will not be a deal does iran not understand that because
01:25this looks like another example of them saying well if we do this trump's not budging so is this yet
01:30another delay tactic by iran yes trump said we can't let iran have nuclear weapon that is our number
01:37worst priority yeah i think what iran wants to do is to eliminate our leverage and so if we no
01:47longer
01:47have the blockade in place okay uh then as far as whatever leverage might remain it's the 20 billion
01:54dollars uh of frozen iranian assets so that would be a an incentive potentially to come to a deal uh
02:01and then the threat of a resumption of military force that takes us back to february before we
02:07launched our kinetic strikes on iran uh and back then we know that iran didn't come to the negotiating
02:13table in good faith and so i think this is what iran wants to do the president is meeting today
02:18in the situation room with his key national security advisors i'm sure the president will get an update
02:24from director of cia john yo okay director of cia damn and likely the united states will consider
02:31counter proposals what we need from iran uh is a confidence building measure perhaps if you want
02:37us to drop the blockade give us uh the roughly thousand pounds of highly enriched uranium okay
02:42u.s want to get the uranium they have the enriched they have enriched ones yeah and dan hoffman is
02:50literally saying that iran offers u.s a deal to reopen the strait of hormones but but but
02:58port ponds the nuclear talks this is not we wanted that's our first priority right here might be a
03:04good first step yeah uh so inflation is very high in iran right now and it could become 180 180
03:11percent high inflation rate damn but the iranian government is willing to allow its people to
03:18suffer in a way that the u.s government is not so when it comes to the economic crunch that
03:24they're
03:24feeling right now because of this blockade of iranian ports do you think that something like
03:29that could get get the iranian people or the iranian leadership to the negotiating table
03:35i mean no i think let's hear about there's no evidence right now that any sort of economic pressure
03:43right now at least is going to induce iran to negotiate in good faith yes uh at least that's
03:50where we stand at the moment uh there's absolutely no evidence of any popular uprising and what i
03:56think the iranian regime wants to do is demonstrate that they are resilient yes they just trying to say
04:02the resilience on them and they are so much resilience with themselves i don't know what they
04:08got from it what they want the results from it uh they're doing that to demonstrate to their proxy
04:14terrorists hezbollah the hezbollah in lebanon yes the israel these and their militias in iraq that they
04:21continue in spite of u.s military strikes to lead uh this uh this terrorist state and all of their
04:29uh
04:30terrorist groups around the region that are so uh diabolically focused on destroying israel
04:37and reducing or eliminating altogether u.s force protect projection in the region
04:42this is something that we want nuclears do not that country do not have the nuclear all right
04:50that point we've done a masterful job of killing what i'm going to refer to as the old guard again
04:55these are all irgc but you know there are new people stepping up to replace the people that we killed
05:00how tough would it be killed so many official top level leaders on iran and they just
05:05replace them i don't know be to go after the new people that are in charge okay basically give
05:13the iranian people some measure of confidence you want to give them a second blow just like that damn
05:20dude they are so prepared i guess so because they got blow first time and they are so prepared right
05:26now they know you can us can or any of other countries european and anyone can blow them second
05:33time and this is what they want but they can take to the streets and ultimately overthrow the people
05:41that have been suppressing them and death to america for 47 years yes they have death to america
05:48sentence on their mouth for 47 years right now well we'd certainly like to see that but the challenge
05:56that we face uh is that sure you could decapitate this iteration of the regime it's that iran's irgc
06:04there's hundreds of hundred thousand two hundred thousand of them and then their besieged militia force
06:09the protesters don't have weapons and it would be another thing entirely if the trump administration were
06:15to decide to give them weapons we would need boots on the ground inside yes and i'm telling you about
06:20dan halfman he is the former cia station chief ron to vet anyone to whom we would give weapons so
06:28i i
06:28think frankly that may be a bridge too far i think changing the regime's behavior has been the trump
06:34administration's goal but at least a goal if we couldn't do regime change uh and it remains to be
06:40seeing whether that's going to be possible but i think we need to stand uh with the pressure that
06:46we have on iran and that means holding to this blockade yes only best thing we have to do and
06:52we
06:52done till now is the blockade after blockade is created we are so much in the good position with the
07:01war with iran right now here but also just noting that iran's foreign minister is going to be in
07:07in russia today as well so we want news on what transpires there uh dan thank you so much for
07:12joining us former cia station chief dan hoffman iran's minister in russia russia with putin oh damn
