00:19everyone is talking about the michael jackson movie his legacy lives on clearly it is incredibly
00:26popular right now did you guys watch i haven't had a chance to see it i do want to get
00:30tickets i do
00:31want to go because i thought there's definitely some mixed reviews out there between like you
00:34know audience members and critics on rotten tomato there's a huge difference with those scores but
00:38i mean i've been hearing more positives just more people in my everyday life yeah quest love famously
00:43did a post saying how amazing the movie was that you got to see all the other movies about michael
00:49jackson because it's obviously not the first one you got to see him as the star the king and all
00:53that kind of jazz but now you got to see him as the human you got to see the person
00:57that he was
00:58the kind of like path that he led he rescued honey he rescued animals he's a good guy he did

01:04sweet things he like donated like his seven figure settlement from pepsi to like a burn unit and i mean
01:10he did all these things that you didn't really get to hear a lot about in the press but you
01:13saw him
01:14as a person during the movie which is so beautiful and amazing and also like he brought the bloods and

01:19crips together during the beat it video like this is really stuff that i don't think unless you're like
01:23a die-hard fan you wouldn't know like is this all this is news to me yeah yeah we're also
01:30younger
01:30too so i'd assume maybe you know older people might have some of this knowledge information because like
01:35yeah i feel like when i was growing up coming into the michael jackson it was just a whole lot
01:39of other things in the news so yeah exactly and they did touch on it a tiny bit about uh
01:44did you really
01:45touched on some of the scandals and some of the not so great things in the movie so you know

01:50think and there's talk of a sequel which is really kind of interesting i really want to see the sequel
01:54would you guys see the sequel and are you interested i would see a sequel i feel like i'm open
01:59to seeing
01:59the first movie since i have heard such good things i feel like biopics i'm a little more picky because
02:03sometimes it could feel like a halloween costume in a way like yeah a little bit of a cosplay but
02:09i've
02:09been hearing good things i think i do like that his nephew plays him yeah yeah yeah yeah i think
02:16that's a nice touch and also it makes it a little more personal rather than a random actor who yes
02:21is a good actor and looks like him um so i think i'm open to giving it a chance and
02:26obviously with
02:27these rave reviews despite what the critics say i'm going with the public we are the public we are
02:33the public it did really well in the box office like one of the biggest biopics music biopics to ever
02:37be released yeah and my issue with biopics i feel like is like i i want all of the tea
02:42yeah you know
02:43and i love that the family is being consulted and that we get like some of that real behind the
02:48scenes
02:48of who that person was but then also like i'm sure that there's so many things that they won't touch
02:52on
02:52that i'm like okay well i want to know that like yeah like janet jackson famously uh held back her
02:57rights from the movie so she's not in there she's not depicted yes you want to know involvement but the
03:00rest of the jacksons and the estate and everything were very involved in the making of this which makes
03:04it feel better kind of less icky yeah you know there's just so many tv shows and movies now that
03:08are made about someone i mean like think about the uh like with love story yep the words out of
03:12my mouth the kennedy show that yeah all the family was pissed off about it mad at ryan murphy
03:15and so it's like well how accurate is this right i mean we're not even consulting the people who lived
03:21it right it's just kind of imagination to uh entertain the rest of us which we appreciate from
03:26entertainment value but it does feel better that like the main people are part of this person's life
03:30even though part of me is like did they just come and say take that out anything that makes me
03:35look bad take it out you know what i mean that's a little that's a little water down yeah that's
03:40my
03:40biggest thing too because it's like okay so like whether whether whether or not the family's involved
03:45or not involved just like we're like teetering the line of truth and fiction yeah of course i think it
03:50is better if someone who does know him or family is involved because i when i watch a biopic i
03:55want to go
03:56beyond a google search you know what i mean because i'm like sometimes i'll watch them and i'm like
04:00i feel like i could have just read his wikipedia right you know and i feel like when we kind
04:06of
04:06get somewhat of an inside scoop and input that you know people wouldn't know and they see that raw
04:11emotion see who he is as a person beyond an artist which we can only find out really through people
04:17who actually know him i think it's very important yeah like jafar being the the guy who played him was
04:22a game changer because he's really in that family he said it was it was kind of difficult to get
04:26his voice
04:27down because it's a little high pitch it's a different it's a different thing because hearing
04:31him talk in interviews he sounds totally different so he did a really amazing job he had never acted
04:35before so that's really cool like he took two years just in the audition process like in dancing and
04:41doing choreography to see if he could even do it got that jackson blood oh yeah i mean it's big
04:46shoes to fill really yeah like how you cast michael jackson right like a jackson biopic you know and
04:51i'm hearing that um you know coleman domingo's getting rave reviews for playing joe jackson the
04:55dad um not surprising because coleman domingo's just really been on fire the last couple years really
04:59he blew up from euphoria and so it's been fun to you know see him get his due and i
05:03know there's a lot
05:04of talk about how amazing he is and you brought up a sequel and so i think during that timeline
05:08that would
05:08fall into you know the allegations that were against michael that didn't kind of play into
05:13this first movie because of the timeline so it'll be interesting to see based on how much money it's
05:17making i'd assume they will do a sequel because it's such a money maker but how will the jacksons
05:22feel about touching that topic yeah they're definitely going to be a handle with care kind
05:26of situation yeah like they're not going to just let that kind of go but you do have to address

05:31it was such a big part of his legacy it'll be nice though because i think at least if the
05:35jacksons
05:35are involved we'll get to see what it was like being my not being michael jackson but like we'll
05:39get to see from their perspective walking with him through all of these allegations what he was like
05:46and how he dealt with you know all the controversy yeah it was so funny to see jafar in the
05:51interviews
05:51with all these big celebrities and he's so kind of unfazed by it because he said honey i'm a jackson
05:56like i've been here for a long time so he's very like kind of unfazed by the by the pressure
06:01and the
06:02the publicity of it all but he definitely seemed like he took it very seriously because it's honoring
06:07his uncle and he understands the the legacy even more than just any actor any actor would take it
06:11seriously right but if it's your family it's your your last name then you take it even that much
06:16more seriously so yeah i would say you guys go see it it was a blast are you guys surprised

06:20it's being it's it's having so much success because i was i kind of just thought and you know
06:24since we're younger we grew up in a time where i feel like the allegations against him dominated
06:28his legacy and the media surrounding him versus the incredible talent that he was so i am like
06:33a little surprised at how many people of all ages are going to see it but i also get it

06:37you can't deny the talent that he was yeah and the way he changed the game of music and you

06:41pop music for men especially so i think it's it's interesting to say and we don't have superstars
06:45like that now more you don't know i mean you know besides beyonce yeah yeah one of the last ones
06:52yeah yeah they're once in a lifetime michael jackson ran so beyonce could run and she acknowledges all
06:57the time i remember watching a clip of her in the studio with michael jackson she was like

07:24megan the stallion and clay tom star poor megan oh my god has she not been through enough
07:31has anyone checked on megan today is she okay it was a rough weekend for megan i mean she's not
07:36letting that breakup get her down she's still performing moulin rouge and killing it
07:40i mean people are still talking about you know she did get emotional during her curtain call
07:44because she got a standing oh she got a standing so happy because i think every i think there was
07:49like thoughts that she might not show up to the performance because she had just released a
07:53statement no she's a worker she's a hustler yeah she came to the show and did an amazing job and
07:59i even saw afterwards she was signing autographs and i think a fan had asked her a question about
08:04what is it like to you know keep going when you're going through difficult times and she said honey like
08:09they're what you're you gotta remember that you're there to make people smile that that's your job
08:13that you have to be disciplined and at the end of the day you gotta do your big one so

09:58cheating on her and and then not to mention so we all thought everything was sweet we all thought

10:07more everything's beautiful and then we watched love island together does that mean nothing no it
10:12literally means nothing because they didn't take away anything from the good relationships clearly
