00:07And he said this days before the shooting, but there does seem to be a normalization
00:14of rhetoric about assassinating this particular president.
00:19How can this administration try to put an end to this?
00:24Well, I think you heard it directly from the president on Saturday night, Aisha,
00:27that in his words, we need to recommit ourselves as a country to toning down the rhetoric and
00:34to unifying around what makes our country great.
00:37That's true of everyone who works in this White House.
00:40But as I said, it's also true of everyone who has a voice and a platform across this country,
00:45whether you're on television, a podcast host, you know, people listen.
00:51And when you have mentally disturbed individuals across the country who are listening to this
00:56crazed rhetoric about the president day after day after day, it inspires them to do crazy
01:02things.
01:02And unfortunately, it's not just the media.
01:05It is the entire Democrat Party has made their pitch to voters across the country that Donald
01:11Trump poses an existential threat to democracy, that he is a fascist and that they compare
01:16him to Hitler.
01:17I mean, these are despicable statements that the American people have been consuming for
01:21years.
01:22And so many mentally perturbed individuals are led to believe these words are truth and
01:27then are inspired to act on it.
01:29I have a whole host of examples that we can share with you after it is pages and pages of
01:35major Democrat Party elected officials, uh, saying such as rep Hakeem Jeffries, just this
01:40April, this month said, we are in an era of maximum warfare everywhere.
01:45All the time.
01:46Governor Josh Shapiro said heads need to roll within the administration.
01:51Senator Alex Padilla said people are, quote, dying because of fear and terror caused by the
01:56Trump administration.
01:58Senator Elizabeth Warren, President Trump is making the country look like a, quote, fascist
02:02state.
02:03Senator Adam Schiff saying President Trump using a dictator playbook.
02:07Senator Ed Markey calling President Trump a dictator saying that this administration's actions
02:12are authoritarianism on steroids.
02:15Governor J.B.
02:16Pritzker, never before in my life have I called for mass protest disruptions.
02:20These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace.
02:23You have Rep.
02:24Presley saying we'll see you in the streets, uh, Monica McIver, a Democrat representative
02:30on Capitol Hill.
02:31We will not take this shit from Donald Trump.
02:33He thinks he's a dictator.
02:35We are at war.
02:36These are Democrat elected officials calling for war against the president of the United States
02:41and his supporters.
02:42I could go on and on.
02:44But again, when you have people in positions of power that are saying things like this every
02:48single day for years, you are inspiring violence by people who are already mentally ill.
02:54And that's what we've seen against this president for far too long.
02:56The Press of this is disinformation and misinformation online.
03:00There will be bite-sized clips that will go viral to the point where there are Americans
03:05in this country that believe that what happened Saturday night was staged.
03:10How does this White House tackle that with social media companies out there, whether it's
03:15X, Facebook, Instagram?
03:17How do they work with these companies to make sure that doesn't get out of control?
03:21It's certainly a good question, Aisha.
03:23I don't have tangible answers for you on what we're doing with social media companies, if
03:28anything at all.
03:28What I will say is it's very important to us that we get the truth and the facts about
03:33this case and any case out there as quickly as possible to dispel some of that crazy nonsense
03:39that you do see running rampant online.
03:42And I think the Department of Justice and the FBI thus far have done a good job of disseminating
03:47the truth and the facts about this alleged attempted assassin, the perpetrator in this
03:53case.
03:53And I understand he'll be arraigned in court very soon.
03:56You all see that in the Department of Justice will be giving a briefing and an update later
04:00today.
04:01So as far as we're concerned, just providing maximum transparency and hopefully people will
04:06believe the truth rather than the lies and the conspiracies that so often do go crazy on
04:11social media.
