00:00This might look like a spring vista overlooking the French Alps, but that statement is only half
00:04correct. These are the French Alps, but this video was captured only days ago, in the middle of what
00:10would normally be ski season. All over France, over half of all ski slopes have been forced to
00:15close due to high temperatures and, well, a lack of snow. But that hasn't stopped this skier taking
00:20to what little snow was available. 18-year-old Bastien Moyan captured this video while skiing
00:24down a runway of the icy white stuff, dodging electrical poles and expertly making his way
00:29linearly downhill. But this wasn't the only place around the world experiencing the same
00:33conditions. This was the scene half a continent away at a Bosnian ski resort. And this is what
00:38another popular resort looks like in Switzerland. Authorities there say that temperatures recently
00:43rose to 70 degrees, forcing the closure of many resorts that would normally call this their busy
00:48season. With even those that remain open, like the Gestad Resort saying, only 16 of their 70 trails
00:53have remained open.
