00:00We realized that London was at a standstill of the traffic, and I was never going to get back with
00:04my mother to Albany.
00:07And I had to get to Clarence House very early in the morning, and it was going to take too
00:10long, and I was going to be too tired.
00:11And suddenly Princess Margaret said to my mother, look, no problem, I'll take India back to Kensington Palace with me.
00:17My mother, in her mind, imagined, fabulous, India will be in Kensington Palace in great comfort, it'll be fine.
00:23In fact, very sensibly, Princess Margaret wasn't going to waste a guest room on me.
00:28So I was put in a sort of slightly dusty nanny's room, and my vivid memory is a knock on
00:35the door.
00:35Of course, I had nothing. I came with the clothes that I'd been wearing for the fireworks.
00:39A knock on the door, and there was Princess Margaret in her nightie, offering me her toothbrush.
00:46Isn't that lovely? I don't think I used the toothbrush, but it was a very nice gesture.
