00:00it was really really random i like it started off with just i applied for
00:07just background work on the job for michael i saw a posting and i assumed it was michael
00:12because everything was really really hush hush at the time like it was under it was called maven
00:18or something okay that was a title or what would they yeah and it said like looking for disco
00:24disco background or something like that like step 19th period piece um so i just like mindlessly
00:30every morning i have kind of a routine of like the coffee and then i self-submit on all the
00:35different
00:35casting websites and i submitted forgot and then i was waiting for sushi while i was in the car
00:42like many weeks later and my husband was in the car with me and i got a phone call and
00:49they were
00:50like hi we are from rich king casting like we were just looking to see um what your availability is
00:55like the director saw you and would like to cast you as liza minnelli and i was like what what
01:04so just from applying as like a background artist i got like they saw my photo and they were like
01:12that's that's our liza as we got closer to the date and i started doing the fittings
01:17i started piecing together i was like oh this is the michael movie yeah um and it was very exciting
01:23it got it was the first time that i got like a custom made outfit for a role and stuff
01:29yeah so
01:30that was very cool and then and then yeah on the day it was incredible like i always say as
01:36an actor
01:36it feels almost like a spiritual journey with characters that whoever you end up playing they kind
01:41of teach you something about where you're at in life hair makeup costume energy the way that that
01:46set encouraged me excited me accommodated me like they were amazing and every you know everybody's
01:54like liza do you need anything liza do you need anything um and so it was it was a blast
02:00my process
02:01is very much to absorb observe and then set it and forget it so i watched a million interviews with
02:09her i watched um cabaret numerous times in my life in general uh maybe this time is also one of
02:16my
02:16go-to like musical theater songs um and so watching her mannerisms and her manner of speaking and then
02:25for me as an actor when i'm doing voice work i always need like a little um like a little
02:31entry point
02:32word and hers was her laugh but you know i would love to be asked back i would love to
02:38expand that
02:38world for her i know that she's in the zeitgeist again as well with her memoir and um like i
02:45i love
02:45all her work she's so funny and think about it they're both kids that grew up in an industry that's
02:50not kind of children so i think that they really locked in on each other and a support i think
02:55he had
02:56kind of a similar situation with like elizabeth taylor and a few other people like that
03:00you
