36:47and we were in sand down which is the area that the vineyard was so we went straight there right

36:53about the wine then it was very nice indeed um chateau smurf de pat yeah yeah i personally think
37:02this was our best of the day um you ran and cleaned out the goat pen yeah at that point
37:07in the day the
37:08only other item that was on our list was the black cassette which we still didn't know what it was
37:13so we agreed 30 pound a bottle i'm not the biggest fan of goats and spent most of the time
37:18screaming
37:18um and then because she laughed so much lawrence said can we get an extra 250 a bottle so what
37:25did
37:25you pay in the end uh we ended up paying 25 a bottle so 150 total it was a good
37:30discount okay
37:32let's move on to this uh connor's team team two karishma what did you do you bought the donuts didn't
37:38you yeah so there were six bird nests uh we went to a bakery and then this idea came to
37:44me that maybe
37:44they have branches near our end destination so i said could we get the other branch of your bakery
37:50to make them instead and that saved us a lot of time when we got to ride we ran so
37:56far to get to the
37:57bakery that because we were sweating and huffing and puffing i asked for a cheeky 55 pence off and we
38:03got it down to seven for six donuts we were in our time efficient with the three one two strategy
38:08in and out next one right yeah oh yeah so so then we luckily must be awful on a date
38:16haven't been on one all right excellent for a while so we then we realized that the sup was not
38:20a fish
38:20we found out it was a stand-up paddleboard uh harry took the lead on this one um yeah so
38:24it was it was
38:25priced for 399 um gotten down to 300 then we hoisted it down and it was dustier than a sort

38:31house so we came back with 290 for for the sup what what's the last thing you picked up it

41:05why don't we pick it ourselves we got it for 36 pounds so they gave you a discount for for

41:18straight to uh something blue uh we went to the vineyard um we went in and initially it was she

41:26quite a tough cookie to crack how much did you pay for the wine 226 226 pounds she would have

41:33given you a 15 discount well hold on a minute this lot got 450 yeah wow yeah we know with
41:41that one we
41:42we could have definitely tried a bit more we could have spent another hour there and is it true to

41:47that you're so sophisticated that you think little haggling is a village in the cotswolds or something
41:55yeah um right carry on what else so after that we went to uh get the sup we found eddie's
42:03um surfing
42:05the first up that he showed us was 800 pounds obviously we were not going to go anywhere near that
42:11one um um and priesh pushed for a children's sup or second hand and he showed us this bashed up
42:18sort
42:19of yeah you know secondhand dirty sup but it ticked the boxes we ended up shaking hands um on 180
42:26pounds
42:26so you got it for 180 quid the second hand one yeah and and it wasn't bashed up yeah yeah
42:33but yours
42:34was new did you ask if they're the second hand one um i don't believe so no
42:41they did say that was the only one they had we asked the only one they had and it was
42:44on display
42:44okay it was a really good negotiation to be fair from starting at a brand new sup at 800 pounds

42:50you all then run to the uh checkpoint to the checkpoint yeah and going back to the jackpot you
42:56what we decided to go to this shop to buy the sweetest you had to run didn't you we did
43:02get the
43:02sweets that's correct well let's total it all up and see what happened so um tim uh let's talk about
43:10the results um what happened with your team well they bought seven items on the list that you gave
43:17them and they spent a total of 544 pounds but as they didn't buy two of the items the rhubarb
43:24and
43:24custard and the black cassette it meant that you imposed fines on them of 200 pounds and given them a
43:29total of 744 pounds right okay karen uh well they got a fine for not getting the red duster
43:39uh which was 100 pounds but they managed to get eight correct items eight out of nine yep so on
43:47the
43:47eight correct items they spent 514 pounds and seven pence so there's a total spend for this team of 614
43:5513 pounds and seven pence well well well done well done um congrats at least ladies and gentlemen at
44:07least we did redeem ourselves a bit from hong kong because at least you found a lot of items um

45:54point we would have been late to the hovercraft and lost ultimately what this boils down to our
45:58team got four products you guys got three i'm nervous going in this boardroom everyone's going
46:03be coming for me and my strategy however i will be fighting back could you send the candidates in
46:18please let's do this right uh kieran one of your initial comments was to catch up from hong kong it
46:39was unfinished business yeah uh well you still have unfinished business you didn't buy the cassette
46:46or sweets did you no no no why we didn't know what the black cassette was and just to cover

46:58they had got them um it was it was purely a time thing lord sugar we we had to make

47:04decision that we didn't have enough time you know you rush back to the hovercraft you got there
47:0920 minutes early uh you remind me of fans who leave the football game early you know a part of
47:16me feels like i wish we went for the sweets but it was a huge risk and if it went
47:20wrong it would have
47:21completely fallen on connor and if i was in this position i probably would have done the same but
47:25levi and rothner still got the sweets and got to the hovercraft on time yeah um so it was possible
47:33yeah it was possible it was a boat to portsmouth not a flight to pyongyang and and and fair enough
47:38do you know what it was possible we could have risked it the hinging of this doesn't essentially lie
47:43on the sweets because we would have lost the hinging of this comes down to the sup you've gone into

47:47shop that sells one cell they could put whatever price tag they want on it i think the negotiation that
47:52i did there was good and it meant that we saved loads of time you know it does raise the
47:56point really
47:57there are other vendors on the island that sell this stuff absolutely but we yeah so you could
48:02you could have walked away we could have but i doubt we would have got one to be honest the
48:06other
48:06team got one they've got a second hand money in a shop in japan less if we knew there was
48:10other
48:10options obviously we would have gone for them but we were under strict time slash location difficulties
48:15but it's using initiative mate if you go in a shop which only has one sup they're obviously going to
48:18put the price up because they can't compare you can't compare it to any others you know you like we've
48:22seen in this process you have to walk away sometimes if we walked away we'd have had six items
48:27you spent an hour in a goat's pen you guys had time to enjoy drinks we were out there running
48:31around the streets there's a complete mismatch of your lads day out versus our tactical and reasonable
48:37decisions lads day out drinks drinks yeah i was drinking blue blue wine did you we did sample the
48:46wine to get to know the product and again it then brought a close relationship with the the vendor
48:52which we then managed to negotiate a very good so lawrence the bone the guanadam yeah i've got a
48:59bone to pick with you over this because um you paid more than the other team i paid 10 pound

49:0612 quid for it yeah so i literally with the project manager he said 30 i went in at what
49:13was almost exactly
49:1430 percent um the guy came back and said 12 uh or a bit more than that and then we
49:20eventually agreed
49:21on 12 um yeah karishma what did you get off on the donuts so i think we got around 28
49:26off the first
49:28mentioned price do you think the 30 constraint that this he put on you really cramped your style i'm a
49:35little bit naturally like with negotiations i'm a bit more aggressive with them so we were we were doing our
49:40best with these numbers but we were capped at this 30 percent one of you well at least one of
49:47you is
49:47going today where do you think the responsibility lays here i think the failure lies with lawrence and
49:51the pm ultimately we failed this task because we didn't receive enough items we got seven they got
49:55eight our team secured four your team secured three yeah which we gave you on a plate too mate um

51:44so i bought cornerback just simply for the fact we haven't got any sweets and with harry it's just the
51:52difference in price from the other team the hundred pound it's just it's the largest amount of money in
51:56the in the task you know someone does have to try and get the most expensive item that's just how
52:00it works and actually it came out with a good negotiation i think the thing is there was no
52:04there's no there's nothing to compare it to so they could put any figure they want on it use your
52:08initiative if it's the only one look for others to compare it to we simply didn't have the time and
52:12i think we did have the time it was midday you could have walked away we could we could have
52:16walked
52:16away absolutely but then i think there's other places on the island that you could have got to we
52:20were always talking about time we need to be on time there's a lot of items to get throughout the
52:24day
52:24i think you know it showed we had three items by lunch they had one so you think if you
52:28weren't
52:29petting goats for an hour you could have got either the sweets or the black cassette honestly
52:32i was actually very scared of the goats and didn't pay any of them um i think you need to
52:37get away from
52:37this little lads holiday that you think we had and rather that we actually got a better negotiation
52:41than any of yours lord sugar and with this i think we obviously the sup was expensive i'm not going

52:47lie about that that obviously was expensive but we had to make the executive decision whether we get it
52:51from that shop or risk not getting it at all harry you also spent more than twice what the other

52:56did on the mock limb where yeah absolutely we did not have time to go to another shop to get

53:10i think my biggest challenge over this process has been to prove myself as a viable business candidate
53:15and if you go back to both discount buying tasks i was the person on both teams who received the
53:20highest
53:20percentage discount in both marketplaces both the flowers and the food i was the highest seller of

53:32children's book writer you said i'm looking for someone to adapt i think from the person i was then
53:38to who i am now i've definitely adapted i've proved to you that i'm not just the typical estate agent

53:50lot of progress but also some good results i did a good negotiation i believe on that sup and i

54:02um kieran um to be fair this is nowhere near the disaster it was uh in hong kong um it
54:10does show how
54:11i've adapted as well lord sugar well i don't know if it does i mean uh he didn't win if
54:17you'd have
54:18won uh i would have said yeah you've adapted yeah um connor you're a good talker but um the sweets
54:28you should have gone and got them it's as simple as that and harry um you know midday you should

54:36walked away harry you should have walked away and found another vendor but um
54:44kieran i gave you two cracks at the whip and you failed on both occasions and for that reason
