Trump said Israel and Lebanon agreed to extend the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire, which was set to expire on Monday, by three weeks. Meanwhile, the US and Iran persist in its tense standoff in the Strait of Hormuz.

00:01U.S. President Donald Trump announced Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend a ceasefire
00:07between Israel and Hezbollah. The initial 10-day ceasefire went into effect last Friday and was
00:13set to expire on Monday. Trump called the second round of talks between Israeli and Lebanese
00:18ambassadors successful, but acknowledged that they, quote, do have Hezbollah to think about.
00:23Israel wants peace with Lebanon and Israel wants security for its citizens. We're united with the
00:30Lebanese government wanting to rid the country of this malign influence called Hezbollah.

00:57Earlier on Thursday, Trump ordered the U.S. military to, quote, shoot and kill any Iranian
01:03vessel they were trying to mine the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, however, accused the U.S. of hindering
01:09negotiations through its blockade and threats and said Washington was breaching its commitments.
