00:00Is the ceasefire worth the paper it's written on, if in fact there is one, if Israel isn't part
00:07of the negotiations and an agreement? Because if, as Avital is saying, if Prime Minister Netanyahu
00:13has these goals that he wants to achieve, if they haven't been achieved and the US and Iran
00:19come to another agreement, if Israel isn't part of it, is it a moot point?
00:24It is, and Israel does need to be a part. I would distinguish between what Netanyahu wants
00:30to achieve and what is good for Israel. I make that really, really clear, because it was
00:36mentioned about the EU having a difference of opinion with Israel. The difference of opinion
00:40is with Netanyahu and the fact that he wants to use military mights in order to try and
00:45achieve geopolitical objectives. And that isn't the way you do it. You use it as a tool, but
00:51ultimately your mission must be political. And at the moment, it's unclear as to where
00:59this goes politically. How do you then get a regime to be more on side so they themselves
01:05don't want to pursue a nuclear weapon, rather than simply just bombing them every time they
01:09get close? That isn't a smart power. That really isn't. And there's no talk of soft power.
01:15It's been mentioned already. Donald Trump only wants to bomb from up on high, thinking he's
01:20going to affect the political outcomes on the ground. It doesn't work that way. And Netanyahu
01:26knows that too. Hezbollah is a great example. When did they form? Back in 1982. And again,
01:34every time they do something, and absolutely it's right that Israel pushes back, but doing
01:41it kinetically is not going to change their mindsets. You kill them, they rearm and regroup,
01:46or a new generation is then inspired to fill those shoes. So you've got to go to the heart
01:52of the ideology and tackle the ideology. The same applies to Iran as well. Until you do
01:57that, then I'm afraid we're going to have this cycle of war continue, even if we have a ceasefire
02:01that's put into place for the next 60 days or so.
