00:00DC Studios just released the first trailer for Clayface, and it is not what you expect.
00:04Full-body horror, rated R coming this Halloween. Full update in one minute on News Plus Globe.
00:09You are watching News Plus Globe. Clayface is the third film in James Gunn's new DC universe.
00:14But, this is not a superhero movie. This is a full horror film. Let's go.
00:21First, the story. Tom Reese Harris plays Matt Hagen, a rising Hollywood actor.
00:26A gangster disfigures his face with a knife attack. Desperate, he turns to a scientist played by Naomi Ackie.
00:32She gives him an experimental treatment, but it transforms his entire body into living clay.
00:37He becomes a revenge-filled monster who can shapeshift into anyone.
00:41Second, the creative team. The script is written by Mike Flanagan,
00:44the master of horror behind The Haunting of Hill House and Dr. Sleep.
00:47James Gunn said Flanagan's script was so good that he had to make the movie even though he never planned
00:52to.
00:52James Watkins, who directed Speak No Evil, is the director.
00:56The film is inspired by the famous Batman, the animated series episode, Feet of Clay.
01:02Third, what makes it different? This is DC's first proper horror movie.
01:05It is confirmed to be rated R. The trailer shows Hagen wiping his own face off in a bathtub.
01:10His body turns into weapons. His face melts and reforms.
01:14Fans on social media are calling it terrifying.
01:16One user said it looks like the fly meets the substance.
01:19The film releases on October 23rd, just in time for Halloween.
01:23That was your Clayface update.
01:24The film is set in the same DC universe as Superman, but Batman is not in this movie.
01:29Just pure horror.
