00:33:28Kurt, Kurt had the last word on our engines

00:33:31He's a fantastic engine guy and it's not

00:33:36Yeah, for sure it's not super nice to lose him

00:33:39On the other side I know why and what he's doing

00:33:42And I just can promise that Kurt is a friend of KTM

00:33:45And he is a friend of KTM

00:33:47And I don't know exactly what he does in the future

00:33:49But we created together with him during the last two years the future after him

00:33:54I'm very thankful that he was also so professional in that case

00:33:58To look for that already for over a longer period

00:34:01But I think the chances are really big that he's not with us next year

00:34:07He's a face and a name that has predominantly stayed behind the scenes

00:34:11So for those at home that aren't too familiar with his story

00:34:14Just tell us how influential he's been to get to KTM

00:34:18To the position where they are fighting at the front in MotoGP

00:34:21And as a result how big of a loss it will be?

00:34:24You know it's like to run a professional MotoGP project

00:34:29You need more than 100 engineers and people

00:34:33So it's not in one segment it's a one man show

00:34:36It's a huge team effort

00:34:39So that's not based on one single character

00:34:44But Kurt took responsibility for the engine

00:34:48That's what he did in Moto3 times

00:34:50That's what he did now in MotoGP times

00:34:52And going back even to 2004 in our very first MotoGP adventure

00:35:00So there is a really strong history behind him and our engine department

00:35:06Our whole road race engine department was built up by him

00:35:09So all the guys who are there are his guys

00:35:12So that's something he has to be proud of

00:35:15And we also are proud that we worked so long together with him

00:35:19Also so successful

00:35:20The engine was always the backbone of the project

00:35:22Just finally Pedro leads the way in the World Championship for KTM at the moment

00:35:27His results have been improving

00:35:29They've been strong, consistent, very close to the podium

00:35:31Although his face doesn't tell that story often when he comes to speak with us

00:35:35He's been almost openly flirting with VR46

00:35:39He's been exposing in front of their background

00:35:41And telling Fabio Gideon Antonio that he needs to get a sense of humour about those kinds of things

00:35:45As the man that's paying him millions of euros every year

00:35:48Do you find it as funny as he does to be posing in front of rival sponsors and rival teams?

00:35:55You know, he's still a kid and he wants the best motorcycle to perform

00:35:59And as long as our motorcycle is not the best motorcycle out there

00:36:04We have to live with the critics and also the flirting side of things

00:36:09Maybe you need a certain age to understand that the wife you have

00:36:12You should treat the wife well and not always flirt with other ladies

00:36:17But yeah, that's not an issue for us really

00:36:21We know we are not on point in everything

00:36:25We try to bring the puzzle together

00:36:27And it's like Maverick did for us such a great job

00:36:32Because he criticised us on the right things in the right moment

00:36:36And we can only prove the bike if the rider tells us exactly what he needs

00:36:41And that's the next step we can do

00:36:42And so I would say that Maverick made the hard work

00:36:47And made the first step to bring the bike on a certain platform

00:36:50And at a certain point also Pedro looked over and said okay

00:36:56I mean the bike is there to fight for a podium

00:37:02We know that it's not maybe not good enough

00:39:10Given the fact that you hear in Cecily the Honda riders talk about lack of energy performance

00:39:16So a wise choice you feel if Honda are certainly looking for a few ponies from their engine next year

00:39:22As far as Pedro Acosta is concerned and his general demeanour

00:39:26Ultimately Pedro Acosta has come to MotoGP to win hasn't he?

00:39:29Of course he's done nothing but win in his Grand Prix career through Moto3 and Moto2

00:39:34Of course where he is a world champion in both

00:39:36And no doubt Pedro Acosta will have come to MotoGP with such high expectations

00:39:41Not just of himself but of KTM

00:39:43Now of course you at times have to play the company man

00:39:47You have to say all the right things and pull all the right faces

00:39:50Pedro Acosta has looked a little glum in front of TV cameras as of late

00:39:54Tipping the line goes back to Aragon

00:39:56Where he finished in an equal season's best ball

00:39:58But he looked thoroughly miserable after the Grand Prix

00:40:01But that's because he watched Ducati's ride away from him

00:40:04At the court of the race

00:40:05So there's no question that Pedro Acosta expects a lot of himself and of KTM

00:40:10But of course from KTM's point of view

00:40:12They also expect a lot of Pedro Acosta

00:40:14And the sole KTM podium challenge

00:40:17Genuine podium challenge this season has come from Maverick Vinales

00:40:21So certainly both rider and team will have good reason to look at each other

00:40:24And perhaps it takes a little bit more as you go through this season

00:40:27Yeah no doubt Acosta is a star asset for the Austrian brand

00:40:30And it looks like that will remain the case in 2026

00:40:34The Acosta KTM split room has gone awfully quiet over the last couple of weeks or so

00:40:40There was no question was there's no smoke without fire

00:40:43The rumour mill was strongly linking Acosta and his management

00:40:47Albert Valera would maybe hunting around

00:40:49Stipping around a VR46 Ducati seat in 2026

00:40:55And that was potentially going to come with a

00:40:57Some rather large financial penalties

00:40:59A big buyout clause that Acosta had in his contract

00:41:02And topped by more than a couple of very reliable sources that

00:41:06In Aston at our last Grand Prix when we know Albert Valera was on site

00:41:10Because he was trying a few hand grenades around him

00:41:13As far as Apulia and Ahoy my team was concerned

00:41:15I am told that at KTM were...
