00:00This mistake was so good that the director left it in.
00:03Have you ever mentioned something to someone and then gone on to live to regret it? Well,
00:07that's exactly what happened to Daryl Hannah when she mentioned to director Ridley Scott that she
00:11was a former gymnast. This led to her performing her own stunts as Pris, an acrobatic replicant
00:15in the world of Blade Runner. In a scene where Pris is being pursued by J.F. Sebastian,
00:20Hannah used her abilities to make the scene look more realistic. But she actually overachieved on
00:24this, accidentally smashing elbow first into a car window when she messed up a stunt. This
00:28meeting of bone and glass did not exactly end well for the organic side of the equation,
00:32as Hannah chipped her elbow in eight different places. And fortunately for her,
00:36she was playing an unfeeling robot, and unfeeling robots don't get to cry when they hurt themselves.
00:41Hannah valiantly carried on with the rest of the scene, no doubt in excruciating pain. The window
00:46break take was kept in the final cut, glass smashing sound effect and all. Actually,
00:50we shouldn't really even say final cut since there's been about 2,000 final cuts of Blade Runner,
00:55and there'll probably be 2,000 more by the time this video comes out.
