00:00Look around. Studio lots like this one used to be full of people, costumers,
00:04electricians, set medics, caterers. Thousands of Angelenos making a living.
00:09Now these lots are quiet. Since 2018, shooting days in the city of Los Angeles
00:13have fallen by a half. That means less work for families across our city and
00:17less money to support our small businesses. This issue is personal to me
00:20because my husband works in the industry too. I'm Nithya Raman and I'm running for
00:25mayor to make sure Los Angeles stays the film and TV capital of the world.
00:29Despite years of job loss in our hometown industry, our current mayor took almost
00:33three years to appoint a film liaison. Three years. Here's what I'm gonna do as
00:38mayor. I'm gonna appoint a film liaison on day one. Someone who understands
00:42productions and costs. Someone who can cut through red tape and coordinate across
00:46city departments. Someone who is laser focused on helping every single
00:50production prep, shoot and run posts in LA. Second, make fees fair. Right now, indie
00:57creators pay the same fees as blockbuster movies. That's pricing indie movies out of
01:02Los Angeles. Finally, we need a tax credit with no cap and that's guaranteed into the
01:06future so that productions know they can continue to invest in LA. As mayor, I'll
01:10aggressively lobby Sacramento to keep work here. Angelenos are the most talented
01:16creatives in the world. You deserve a mayor who fights as hard as possible for you.
01:21That's a wrap.
