In 2019 the term 'incelcore' was used to refer to a group of independent musicians whose music dealt with themes of isolation, alienation, and a general distaste for many aspects of modern society In 2020, during the wake of the pandemic, the scene grew substantially and in 2021 their first live festival, 'virginfest', was held for the scene. The following footage was filmed between 2024-2025 from New York to Texas.
